So now we live in an age where we need armed guards at kids' playgroups. Great job, government.

@bdenbhurrito My conclusion is what what she said wasn't really all that bad. I'm white and wasn't offended by it - rather it's a very weak point that's all. Her opinion really, no hate or bigotry against ANY of the groups she mentioned. Not even the group who the media are by far the most protective of.

Seems to me that the police presence there was just stoking the conflict.

My relationship to N. Ireland goes back to me as a 7 year old boy watching news about the fighting and thinking even at that age how pathetic it was. They are the same people.
15
Because Peter Hitchens is a conservative, rather than a Tory
10
It's really about who is in charge of the mayor though.
9
How are you so sure it isn't?

My family were at the rally. We weren't defending a rich person. We were defending our own small farm. If we have to sell land, it will be bought by someone much richer than us.
6
They seem to matter an awful lot, since I don't hear the words "anti-irishism" or "anti-travellerism" flying all over the media today.
5
Glad to see a newly converted colonialist among us.
4
ULEZ: Ultra Low English Zone.
4
LBC's specialty. They have an army of researchers whose job it is to find THIS guy to put on the radio. If he's even real.
4
Lucy Letby who, thanks to the utter contempt most people now have for the media, the police and the law, could quite easily turn out to be innocent.
4
The 300k then was just the incoming. Today that 300k is the net permanent immigration. At least the legal ones. And it pretty much entirely accounts for our pop growth. Meanwhile, we build about 50k houses... Do the maths.
4
@radman8321 I think it's clear what the media and race activists mean by "person of colour". It serves a purpose to separate first-nation British communities from their colonisers.
3
@silentminority2342 And Ireland. The other nations of the union have not had such insane mass immigration, so their society is not at breaking point yet.
3
Just compare the police response to Leeds the other week with this. It's night and day.
2
He has been named already hasn't he? His name is Ali-Ali-something or other, I forget the whole thing. I suspect if I post the whole name it will be deleted anyway.
2
@beatonthedonis Ali Al Shakati is the name. You're right it could be nonsense. I'll bookmark this comment for when we get reliable information and I will eat crow if I am wrong.
2
Loving the salt. So glad Trump won. If this is fascism (it is not and to suggest so is a great insult to fascism's true victims) then sign me up.
2
Of course there is a hierarchy of racism, just as there is a hierarchy of every identity. If you're a black trans woman, roll an extra dice. If you're a straight white man, miss a turn. These are the rules of the game.
2
1 million per year James. A MILLION.
2
@thomascostello5431 Colonialism is the central story of all human history across all cultures. It is not wrong or right, it is just what civilisations do. A culture has equally the right to colonise others as they do to resist it happening to them.
2
But even if she is part German, does that mean she should carry the baggage of hundreds of years old German grievances around with her?
2
Perhaps we could offer a fuel rebate to those with newer, compliant cars? To encourage more adoption. Instead of punishing those who can't afford it yet by making them poorer. This is what we would do if the scheme was truly about the environment and not just a cash grab.
2
@mrfreeseat I've addressed this.
1
Could it be that Novara's views are antisemitism? After all, it lurks everywhere, in politics, under the bed, in my lemon cheesecake, as the media tell us constantly.
1
No, we're in a liberal blip called modernity. It will all revert back eventually. What makes you think we'll change after thousands of years.
1
@Sharonisnotyourmother An armed guard likely would have stopped the guy before he got close to any children. Would you disagree?
1
Then you're quite naive, because this was the obvious and predictable result of years of insane immigration policy, or lack thereof.
1
@GregOrCreg Abbott mentioned white people, the irish, jews and travellers all equally. And yet the entire media conversation about anti-semitism.
1
But you'd take advantage of all of it if you were clever enough to earn enough money.
1
@mrshifter9582 Let's see who's whining when this tw@t of a PM of ours gets us into a global war and the food supply chain dries up.
1
"Understand why the price of everything goes up". Yes it's from money printing. Which we were cheering on Rishi for doing when he gave us a year's paid holiday in 2020, all the time expecting that our children would end up paying it through the normal process of inflation. As it turns out, the amount of money injected into the economy was so epic that the bill has come due after 2 years instead of 20.
1
There were probably 20 other leavers who called and gave a cogent argument and hence did not get on the air. There is a narrative to tell on this station. If you go to GB News you'll get the exact opposite selective bias in their guests and callers. All of the media is echo Chambers.
1
At least labour are up front about their plans. The Tories are worse as they gain power by pretending to be conservatives. They never have the slightest intention of maintaining our national borders, regardless what they promise.
1
I've said for years that s benign dictatorship is the ideal government.
1
@jorriffhdhtrsegg Indeed. Like other popular political theories I could mention, it sounds great on paper. Not so great in practice.
1
You'd think so right? But where do I complain that I missed out on a job because my group wasn't high up on the company's diversity quota?
1
@mattjones1776 If you don't know about it, it's called DEI. Look it up. And most governments and institutions sanction these policies. In fact, orgnisations like the IMF, NATO, EU insist on it these days and I'm sure the unions you mention also do.
1
The guy sounded exactly like a guardian reading, LBC listening leftie would think someone on the "far right" would be. Which is why I'm suspicious that he was real. Either that or LBC's producers worked extremely hard yesterday to find the stupidest man in the country to put on radio.
1
It used to be a once in a generation event in Britain. Until the last decade or so.
1
@Pinkdam Democracy only ever works in a homogeneous population.
1
Unless the victim is white, obviously.
1
What about that small farmer who called and that you movked the other day, James?
1
The Irish have got the third world being air-dropped into their country and this is what they are worrying about?

@forestsunset9617 Oh I work with black and brown guys regularly. It comes up quite a lot because when the radio news is on at work it's just unavoidable. The media want us all to be obsessed with race and on edge about what we say the whole time and almost everyone I ever meet, regardless of their skin colour, is sick and tired of it.
1
I mean if you're an actual conservative like me, the Tories seem indistinguishable from the Labour party, with a couple of cartoonish exceptions like Suella. Blaming them for spreading far right hate is clownish 🤣 They are responsible for the disaster of mass immigration that has predictably resulted in this horrible violence.
1
@Mark Welch I'm amazed that party politics is still a thing and people have not woken up yet. The Tories this or Labour that. They are the same people mate. Anyone that genuinely threatens the establishment is crushed, whether it be Corbyn on the left or the BNP on the right. Surely all but the most clueless normie midwits can see it by now...?
