Tanmay Sangtani : nobody doubts Savarkar patriotism & sacrifice But he was not the only 1 who faced torture as there were many who didn’t ask for clemency n faced d gallows with their heads held high. Savarkar it is told was not anti Muslim earlier but his bad experience with the Muslim inmates - who he thought mistakenly represent the common Muslims - in the Andaman jail convinced him that Hindus n Muslims cannot exist together and therefore it was his Hindu Mahasabha which supported the idea of partition. Savarkar was also accused as an accomplice in the assassination of Gandhi in the commission which was set up to investigate Gandhi’s killing after Savarkar was acquitted by the court for want of sufficient evidences. How can indians accept anybody as their hero who is accused of the assassination of a pious man like Gandhi who believed in universal harmony and had the guts to stop the warring donkeys from both the Hindus & Muslim communities by entering the bloody streets of Navkhali without any protection; So much was the believe of Gandhi in the principles of nonviolence that he didn’t just preach but also offered himself to the religious bigots baying for each other’s blood. It is sad but true that a social reformer like Savarkar will be known more for his alleged involvement in Gandhi’s assassination and less for his guts to cleanse the Hindu religion of all its dirt n filth even at the cost of distancing the Hindu fundamentalist who formed the core of his support base. Even Gandhi never had the guts to openly call the bluffs of the caste Hindus fearing noncooperation But Savarkar didn’t mince his words when it came to criticising the ill practices of the sick Hindu mindset. Unfortunately the Savarkar worshippers are highlighting his revolutionary episodes - which gets undermined by those 8 letters seeking clemency - instead of promoting the scientific temper for which he steadfastly stood all through his life. As far as comparing with Shivaji is concerned, let it be known that signing treaties in case of victory n defeat is part of the politics of kingdoms and there just cannot be any parallel between Shivajis political manoeuvring to save his kingdom with that of Savarkars clemency for saving his own life. Sadly for Savarkar the present n future generations regardless of their caste creed n religion will always compare his Clemency with the Supreme Sacrifices of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev and will no doubt be inspired by the latter rather than the former ....

If you are in know of any ‘freedom fighter’ who willingly took pension from his tormentors (Britishers ) than please enlighten us. What Savarkar received as pension of Rs 60/- is the today’s equivalent of over Rs 1,00,000/- , so by what standard this is not a hefty sum? Post Savarkar’s release from prison it was noticed that he did not fight against the British but instead supported the Brits much to the chagrin of those who were engaged in opposing British rule. This shows that the pension amount was loaded with a caveat and what was the caveat is anybody’s guess. Interestingly the caste-lobby which has been trying their best to confer the title of freedom fighter on Savarkar is absolutely mum when it comes to acknowledging the sacrifices of so many real freedom fighters who preferred to perish in the jail rather than beg for clemency and also did not accept any pension. Isn’t it sad that Indians can’t think beyond their castes even when it comes to conferring of respect and credit on the martyrs…….

The credit for laying the strong foundation for industrial growth should go to the Nehruvian policy of mixed economy comprising of the public sector which was entrusted with the task of undertaking the establishment of core industries requiring huge investment and the private sector for which the consumer goods sector was kept reserved and insulated from foreign competition. In China the bureaucracy played an important and positive role to ensure the success of its public sector as well as the pvt sector, but such was not the case with the casteist Indian bureaucracy which had never aligned with the socialist objective of the economic policy propounded by the congress under indira and therefore played spoilsport covertly. Today even after more than 30 years of liberalisation not a single product manufactured by the Indian private sector commands international respect, including software industry where Indians are more visible as cyber-coolies rather than inventors of new-age IT products like Twitter , facebook, WhatsApp , insta, youtube etc. The only dubious record the Indian private sector has made is the massive creation of NPAs and gigantic bank frauds and here also the culprits are from the minority castes of bamman + Bania who are just over 10% but maintain their stranglehold over 80% of nations wealth …..
