  12. Funny they use such loose terminology, the reason being they can't actually justify it and want idiots like you to make the exact jump you just made. The proposed taxes are an increase on people earning a minimum of $450K a year, and the corporate taxes will generate income to fund plenty of services. The idea that businesses will struggle with this small tax increase is nonsense, because if they were actually going to reinvest that money then it would be tax free anyway.

  15.  @sblijheid  Um no. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 expires after 10 years, with some of the provisions starting to fall off this year. Biden isn't increasing the taxes, Republicans are, with the bill they designed to win Trump the election and increase taxes after his win. Instead Biden won and a pandemic happened, meaning all their tax cuts did was raise the deficit massively. Guess which taxes are permanent however. You guessed it, the corporate ones. Biden's proposed corporate tax increase is lower than in 2016.

The idea is to alleviate pressure on the police force by funding other social programs that deal with problems in a cheaper and more effective way. Social workers are chronically underfunded while police forces are buying APCs. It's a joke.

  30. Biden's tax plan hasn't passed yet, so any tax increases have nothing to do with him. His plan would also effect income taxes above $452,700 and married couples filing jointly with income over $509,300. So unless you're complaining about people making $464K a year, at which point that $300 means virtually nothing, then I'm not sure why you're whining.

  37.  kimberlymuldowney503  That's not how that works. The jurors are selected from the general public at random. The prosecution and jury can strike off jurors, they cannot select jurors. The judge literally just asks people who can't be impartial to leave.

  47. Agreed, but it's getting better. Actively getting laughed at by the UN was certainly a US low point. As was a world leading shoving their way to the front of others at a NATO meeting. Or the time we pulled out of the Iran deal, giving Iranian leaders political capital to start ramping back up in nuclear. Or the time dear leader praised Russia and believed them over our own intelligence agencies. Or the time we refused to condemn China for Hong Kong or their treatment of Uighurs. Or the time the president saluted a North Korean general. You get the idea, it's getting better.
