Using federal funds to fix roads is the exact opposite of toll roads. Toll roads are used when they can't get federal funding and need to fund it themselves.
10
Both sides have to agree to that merge, and neither do. DC has it's own identity, as does Maryland.

@Bidenfriend Covid was the 3rd leading cause of death last year.
6
@karlbanksy7722 Most of their content isn't even real news. Tucker Carlson for example won a lawsuit on the idea that nothing he said could be taken seriously.
5
@adalfyre7937 Actually the military sending medics to train at Chicago hospitals is true.
4
Tracy Skywatcher#17 I agree, we should all pay our respects to Biden.

samford hikes Pretty sure everyone with an interest in fair elections are in favour of removing the electoral college.
3
@albinoman13bt Because the 10 largest cities contain less than 10% the total US population, and probably swing far more heavily for 1 candidate than the other. If you keep the electoral college why would anyone ever campaign in a non-swing state? In a popular vote system all the votes count, including Republicans in New York and California, and Democrats in Texas and Alabama. The current system makes it so that the majority of the country has no vote at all.
3
@albinoman13bt "Rural people and urban people see the world very differently." Sure, if you're only looking at who won each county. If you look at the percentages within those areas you quickly realise that public opinion is not that far different in most areas. You just don't seem to like counting votes of people in a minority in certain areas. We also have a house of representatives and a senate to represent both proportionally and disproportionately. The entire current system is built on the backs of people scared they would lose an election, so make the rules beneficial to them. "What gives city people the right to dictate how rural people live? None. So weight has to be given to their vote to prevent them from becoming another silenced minority group." Considering that's already happening in the current system, and vice versa, that's not the best argument. People in eastern CA and upper NY never have their votes counted. Why are you so against people voting?

@luluhaha9741 Seems like an odd question. Why does it matter if they are law abiding or not? Does all crime deserve execution? Should someone get shot for theft? How about a DUI? Where do you draw the line on what is an acceptable way to kill someone and what is not?
3
@luluhaha9741 If the officer leans on my neck and I'm choking to death?
3
@luluhaha9741 As I said, why do criminals deserve to be executed. You may want to dismiss petty thieves as animals deserving death, but maybe you should take that mentality to North Korea where it will be appreciated. So again, what if they're kneeling on your neck and choking you to death? What then?
3
Neither were a mistake. We needed to pull out and we did.

@NPC420x Republicans are literally dying, but okay.
2
Because there is no singular solution, but many small parts that go into a solution that can help the American people, at the federal, state and local levels of government.
2
@doodlebob3374 No, Trump lose in a landslide by his own accounts.
2
@WatThaDeuce Over 220 years ago. You may as well argue half the states shouldn't exist.

samford hikes There, there is a whole wiki on it called District of Columbia retrocession. "A related problem is that leaders of both of Maryland's major political parties have an incentive to oppose retrocession of the heavily Democratic District of Columbia. As of 2021, Maryland has a Republican governor, while the District of Columbia has never elected a Republican mayor and has no Republicans on its city council. So for Republicans, adding, to the Maryland electorate, the District's hundreds of thousands of voters might prevent Republicans from ever again winning a Maryland statewide election. For Maryland Democrats, adding the District would mean sharing state-party leadership with the District's Democratic politicians, something contrary to the Maryland Democrats' own self-interest, however much it might benefit their party statewide."
2
samford hikes Why not Texas, Florida, Georgia.... wait a second, this just sounds like a popular vote with extra steps.
2
samford hikes 1. Even people in DC at the time of it's designation in 1801 protested against having their voting rights taken away. Telling people they need to move just to have the same rights as everyone else is obviously pretty ridiculous. 2. Maryland doesn't want them, and they don't want Maryland. Both sides would need to agree, and neither wants it to happen.
2
@albinoman13bt Even then so what? That still doesn't decide the vote in a situation where every vote matters equally. Appealing to cities but ignoring rural areas could be just as bad as doing the opposite.
2
@albinoman13bt You still have yet to give a reason WHY we should count rural votes for more. What drives your belief that some votes are better than others?
2
@frankmanning3815 Maryland has a Republican governor for starters, I'm sure he doesn't want to lost his majority. Also, after over 220 years of being separate, the residents of DC are owed their own state. They have more than enough people, and don't want their voices drowned out by some other state.
2
@albinoman13bt You are opposing larger states from having their votes counted equally, and against minority party members in every state from having their voice heard.
2
@MissTEO1 There is a single DC house rep, and they can't vote. As for your other argument, people have cared about DC becoming a state since its inceptions. There were protest in 1801 about the removal of voting rights of the people there, and further movements have been happening ever since. The main reason people are bringing it up as of 5 years ago is because DC voted with an 85% majority to become a state. Your assumption that this is a partisan political ploy and nothing to do with voting rights 1. doesn't matter because it doesn't change that this is the will of the people of DC and 2. is incorrect anyway.
2
@WatThaDeuce Your argument was that DC residents were formerly part of Maryland. As stated, this was over 220 years ago, and since then DC residents have formed their own identity and their own politics. You may as well say we should combine the Dakotas or Oklahoma and Utah should become part of California and Texas. It's nonsense. Maryland also has a Republican governor, who I'm sure would not be too happy about a huge surge in registered Democrats joining the state.
2
@frankmanning3815 Why are they owed voting representation? Hang on, let me go back to the colonies and ask some of them what they think. They're also only changing the size of the controlled area and making a state out of the dead space, no constitutional change is required.
2
@frankmanning3815 No you wouldn't. The bill that passed is changing the size of the district. The 23rd amendment gives the area electors. As the area is now smaller it still gets electors, and the new state also gets electors.
2
@rexd_kin6850 "So two parties have more power than Law itself??" No, which is why they are changing the law. That's why we have a bill in congress. "The towns of DC rightfully belong to Maryland" They don't want them and forcing areas to integrate when they voted directly against it is undemocratic. "They have special privilege to bend it when necessary" Again, they are changing the law, not bending it. "A federal election that disregards the States it's set up for isn't a fair election.. States are Nations and deserve their representation" I agree, and Americans deserve representation, meaning they have to be part of a state to get it. "People don't vote for president. Districts of the States do.. that's why there are the same number of electors as congressmen.. instead of the districts being representational of actual municipal communities. They represent the political parties. Not the people themselves.." Just because it works that was doesn't make it the best way to do things. When this model was setup counting voted from all the states in a single federal election was almost impossible. These days we manage in less than a week and report the results in real-time. Stating that states have more rights than individuals just sounds like an excuse to ignore the will of the people.
2
When almost everyone is vaccinated, especially the over 50s, you have to look at percentage population ratios.
2
@hawkeyestiguy I mean, all of his answers were "everything is great and I'm amazing" but sure, answered every question.
2
@MissMalevolent "In 1968, Biden clerked at a Wilmington law firm headed by prominent local Republican William Prickett" Learn to read.
2
@luluhaha9741 Just when dealing with minor crimes and the mentally ill?
2
@luluhaha9741 Fine. Breonna Taylor was shot through a glass door with the blinds drawn by plain clothes officers on an unannounced no knock raid. They were aiming for her boyfriend. She woke up, broke no laws, and was shot multiple times by officers breaking multiple protocols.
2
@luluhaha9741 You asked for an example and I gave one, but sure, move the goal posts. This is on top of already thinking that petty thieves deserve death.
2
@luluhaha9741 Hard to tell. With cops in the US doing everything in their power to cover up the people they wrongfully kill it's hard to count. The real issue is that they shouldn't be killing most people they do. Again, petty theft is not a death sentence, yet there are people killed this year from stealing a drone from a store, or worse, thrown on their face and suffocating to death during a mental health episode. Telling me to count the number of wrongful deaths by police hands when there are hundreds of deaths by police this year is a waste of my time, when we all know it shouldn't be happening at all.
2
@luluhaha9741 Look, I get it, you don't care about the police killing people. Maybe just say that next time. Also, claiming that this only happened once because we haven't taken the time to review months of police shootings doesn't mean we're only at 1. It means we're at at least 1, with a possible dozens or hundreds more.
2
Literally hundreds of people do this annually lol.
2
Simon Templar She doesn't need a cover, insider trading is legal for members of congress.
2
He won't. This bill requires tax changes, which he already said is not the job of EOs.
2
@krook5158 It doesn't work. Japan is the only country still using it. Every other country stopped after seeing no results. The only reason Japan hasn't dropped it is because they're still running trials.
2
@krook5158 Nope. Japan is still trialing it, everywhere else stopped all together. India publicly announced they were removing it from the packs they give out to their residents. Many other countries reported no improvement. You are a joke.
2
@kevinroepke1024 It's not corruption, they just have no real want of a nationalistic approach to a fragmented and tribal nation.

MATH protocol. Mostly steroids, Vit B1, Vit C and blood thinners.

Dude, they just hate immigrants.
1
You're pointing out the exact reason not enough people are vaccinated. It has nothing to do with Biden, but with people like you.
1
@daboys_entertainment_5234 No actually. Trump's vaccine distribution network was in a shambles when the Biden administration took over. They ended up funding it with tens of billions through the March stimulus bill, as well as doubling the number of vaccines ordered from manufacturers, and making deals with multiple organisations to help distribute vaccines.
1
@billyrayvalentine7972 You mean when he outright ignored questions? Or when he didn't even have his press secretary talk to the press for 14 months because he fired then again?
1
@rowenbarkley6274 It doesn't inhibit recovery, it's a last resort.
1
@metaldiscipline3955 It's weird that we keep seeing this blatant gaslighting of the Trump presidency as anything other than a complete scandal riddled train wreck.
