Rituals? Procrastinating until the first snow.

Woah, this exists in Michigan?!?! Rally e30 dreams are formulating.

Great review as always! A little weird they decided to pipe noise into the cabin for an N55. It's a great sounding engine in my e92, even with the stock exhaust with just a valve delete. Also a little disappointing that a RWD car has a vague front-end feel through the wheel. Its supposedly similar to the servotronic in the F8x M and that felt pretty good to me, so I wonder if they either developed this less or intentionally-unintentionally made this worse to give the M2 a little extra breathing room over the standard car.
2
Ahhhh. Been meaning to go to Devens with BMWCCA for a while now, keep making excuses for myself. I've had a blast on the autocross tracks on both my ADSS and the BMW Track Days. Next season hopefully!
2
Looking really smooth and fast! Interesting how late the apex is on the left hander under the overpass.
2
Looking forward to the install video. I'm an engineer not just by profession or training, but by heart. Would love to see and figure out the mechanical workings. I put an RTD shifter in my e36M and liked it, but it was quite simple and had no real adjustability. Would have removed it before sale if I had loved it.

I miss Storrow. Was my commute when I first moved here, at least until Longfellow construction started.
2
If you close your eyes on the 850R pull, you might be mistaken to think it's an RS3.
2
I think I saw Jake's car yesterday (Sat May 11) on Andover St in Danvers. It was a glorious day for all the nice cars to come out and play. I was in my E90M going the other way. It kind of broke my neck 🤣
2
Alex Gunner - Sure, but its nice to have. Ive gone to work every single snow "storm" we've had in Boston for the past 5 years in my 335 xDrive.
2
To be honest, I wouldn't go out of my way to follow someone. I'd have called the police and left it at that. You never know what state of mind someone might be in and whether or not they have and would be tempted to discharge a fire arm in your direction.

+Tedward 2011 manual sedan. Not the 'unicorn' spec though, non-comp pack, moonroof, jerez on black, edc, tech/premium/cold weather packages. It's been great fun so far! Thinking about aftermarket warranties and at least a blackstone on the next oil change.
1
Boston misses you already
1
Thanks for taking us along for the ride! Definitely a little more appreciation after seeing how goofy it is for you in the other video.

A happy car. A happy Tedward. A happy viewer :) Love love love the e39. Wish to one day drive, then maybe own one.
1
Plug Pawinn's thai food, I need to try more places!
1
Watched three times and still playing "spot the car"! Admittedly I am new to learning Porsches though.
1
+Tedward ahaha. You called me out. Which is the 964 flatnose? I can't find it! I actually just looked up flatnose history the other day as I love the 930 flatnose. Came across the 964 3.6 flachbau and I think that led me to the Seinfeld collection as it was one of the auction cars also.
1
Ah! There it is! I was looking for a side/isometric view as that's where I find the flachbau really stands out. I do like the 930 version more though, the 964 kind of reminds me of a 928 front.
1
I'm about to take the UUC corsa off my e36, it's too loud for my taste, I want more induction noise. Pawinn's sounds great on video though.
1
Sorry for mistaking your car Nico! A Stromung is going on when it gets warm. Mine is going to be a bit of trial and error as there's not too many S54 swap examples out there.
1
I wish 3rd party warranties would take into account how well the car is being taken care of. Doing oil analysis like this, or even preventatively doing the rod bearing service should be akin to having a good driving record for your cost of insurance. Did you get a 3rd party warranty for your e92 M3?
1
Who woulda thunk the way to enjoy a meet like this was to not bring a car. Also 0:55 was sped up..... :))
1
I actually don't really get this. Going to these lengths to break the law and then being proud of it doesn't do anything for me.
1
+Tedward The first steptronic in my family was an e39 with the M54 and it was reversed too. It actually took me a long time to get the direction right on my e92. To viewers: Its much harder than you'd think to not go the wrong way after you're used to one. Props to Tedward.
1
Chris Harris's 2CV. Its on my bucket list to drive one like it!
1
I'll add some more Farah-isms. The F8x made the stock car a 'license, registration, and dyno sheet sir' car. The E9x needed a supercharger to be that.
1
What did you think of the Z4? Looked like a 3.0si? There is a black one that parks in all the same spots as me in the underground garage at work (between concrete pillars to avoid door dings!), and I just adore the long-nose+short-tail proportions. It has a similar N52 as the beater 325i touring right?
1
Make room....for?

Redo the collector garage with more footage :)
1
You just convinced me a garage is not complete until you get a slow but characteristic car. The pursuit of speed is good for scaring the daylight out of you, but how else can you have this much fun at normal not-frightening speeds?!
1
Check out the VTEC Mini posted on BaT today.
1
Welcome back! Thanks for bringing some of the Cali warm weather back with you.
1
Stay in the BMW game! Love the ///Monsters shirt :)
1
Wow, fantastic video! Will the half cage get any paint? What's David's plans with his Cayman?
1
Coming from BMW and being sold on the dual-purpose-ability of cars, sounds like look for an S with the LSD and do the cosmetic stuff when you're bored and save up a few pennies.
1
@TedwardDrives exclusively autocrossing, so I'm looking to upgrade to RE71R from PS4S.
1
Congrats Eddie! I think Honda is doing all the right things and taking risks in their designs, yet being on point with both the enthusiasts and their family customers.
1
I remember the coverless Cayman video! What a throwback!
1
Love to have this in pod cast format! Couple of suggestions: (1) is it possible to upload audio-only somewhere so I can listen during my commute? (2) Having an index/table of contents really helps sometimes where you can post the segments and click-able timestamps. I listen to the whole thing, but sometimes I leave and come back to it, and it's easy to remember what I already heard about and just click on the next "chapter".
1
One sec, rewinding to see that guy hold on for dear life in the M5 again!
1
I havent done one of my inspections yet...kind of afraid to go. Figured I'd kind of let the dust settle a bit. I didn't realize they weren't all ready.
1
Cheers for buddies working on cars together. Nothing ever goes smoothly, but having a laugh over it makes it better than okay!
1
Congrats on the shop David. Tell us more!
1
Great choice with the FL5s! I'm running 275 square PS4S on Arc8's on my E90M and plan to keep it like that for at least another season of autocrossing. I'm starting to get within touching distance of the folks running 71Rs but in stock sizing. So I figure another year of seat time before I consider tires and classing. Luckily for autocrossing the domino effect of more grip is less of a thing!
1
Tick 'get out of a ticket' off the bucket list :)
1
I like my current Alpin PA4's a lot, but they certainly do give away laterally on dry pavement way before even Conti DWS's. If winter really is going to be this mild, the DWS's are choice. They held up okay in the early winter storm we got in December also.
1
Love the ending. Spoken like a true racer!
1
Transmission tangent! Absolutely worthy clip to share. Older-more-responsible sister to the dream car.
1
This was fun! Great idea for a little series I think. You can do all of the local tracks too. Lots of great fast drivers to bring on as guests to play Forza, followed by a ride-along in their cars on the real track.
