Tedward commercials.

My take is that they still make good cars, and even some great cars. The problem is that they've stopped listening to their old customers and are in a higher pursuit of profitability than they used to be. That shift in focus is putting coloured glasses on some folks, so they don't realize what a great car the F80 actually is, and I'll bet they'll gloss over what an achievement the F90 is shaping up to be.

Would have clicked for garage 42 details also. I'm guessing it's not a pleb garage though ;)
1
So much for pleb garage 😆
1
Ooo, I saw the outro and almost left.
1
That's more like it! Drrrriftttooooo! Also, don't make thick jokes with everything you get your hands on, don't want everyone to know its your first time.
1
Haha, noo, I probably made two too many jumps in references.
1
What would you change about this in an NSX Type R?

I have the Bosch wiper blades on my e92 (also from FCP), and they do a great job functionally. Aesthetically they took a little getting used to as the plastic cover over the attachment point on them protrude slightly and don't quite have the same lines as the OEM wiper blades. Minor gripe for those with high attention to detail.

I'm on vacation so I missed the M2 Comp news until getting the Tedward notification. Mind. Blown.
1
Not going to lie... as videos go, Eddie's driftooooo comment might have been the best part of this one :/
1
Hm, not sure I remember that e36, which episode was it from? I remember Maggie's 318 rally car though!
1
Oh shame on me. That actually might be the video that brought me to your channel!
1
Do a video on Nico's S50 swapped E30 :)
1
Jeeez senior moments today. I've seen that one too!

Hey ociffer, we actually just wanted to do donuts in the median and the Camry was in the way.

997 GT3 vs 981 GT4? These are similar in price nowadays. I'm an e9x M3 owner looking to eventually 'graduate' as well. I think my issue with the 981 is that the 781 is a refinement in concept of the 981, so it is inherently going to be a little bit better in almost every way. Whereas the 991 went in a different-enough direction than the 997. That means to me, longer term the GT3 is more likely to hold its value, as it is a unique experience, without the "I got a 981 because I can't afford a 781" complex.

No one should ever buy gas at that shell. There is another one a minute down the road that charges .20 less per gallon. Expensive vintage sign mark-up!

Jake's new space is styllllling. Looking forward to attending his open house again. It was a great time last year.
1
The wheels have a Jaguar XJ220 vibe about them on this car.
1
ahhhhhh what do I have to do to meet Rebecca? Buy a Type R? I don't have a yellow S2000 and yellow jacket, but I do have a Jerez M3 with dark blue BMW Pumas. ehhh ehhh?
1
Why are you doing this to me! I can't fit a lift in my garage, and my s54 had to go to storage because of it :(
1
10k miles in 11 months, despite having two other cars. Well done! I have not been sending mine out as I have the unhelpful 2010.5+ bearings, which won't really show bearing failure in the analysis. Still torn on whether to just get them done or get an after-market warranty.

Came back for the JD recommend on a slow Sunday. Cheers!

Nice fun roads. A bit busy though. What time did you shoot this at? I usually have to wait til well past midnight before the curvy roads near my house get quiet enough to not get interrupted all the time.

DOORRRIIFFFTOOO

Love the sound of that inline 5. Oh so very curious about that same engine in the 8J TTRS. Skeptical about that PQ35 platform, but much desire for getting it with a manual transmission.
1
Respect the drive, disrespect the tires!
1
Wooo hooo! Inspiration. I've just been doing driving school events and slowly working my way up to track time.
1
Fantastic and special perspective!
1
Nice surprise to get a little glimpse of the cool Aston Martin shop!
1
Congrats!
1
Sorry to hear about more bad luck you've been having with your e92! Good to have an Eddie around to help you diagnose though. drriffftooooo!
1
Oh that's easy then. Just don't have miserable days or terrible feelings.

I've been mulling whether or not I want to replace my daily 335 xDrive at some point. I'm hugely sentimental for that car, so it has to be replaced with something a little special. I'm also maybe a bit irrationally attached to the cars from the mid to late 2000s when I was in school, so GTR and 997.1TT are the major contenders. They're close on paper (6 cyl turbo, AWD, coupes), and close in price. I'm leaning toward Chris Harris' comparison and suggestion that I probably want the 997 because I can get it in a 6MT. You touched on it a little bit in the video, but any extended thoughts/insights (not sure you've driven the 997tt, but the x50 996 is close)?
1
@TedwardDrives Thanks Tom! That sounds like me too. I've tried highly modified 'tuner' cars before, but I just so completely appreciate the refinement of a stock M3 that can also rip at a track. Sounds more and more like this statement is true - there are two kinds of true enthusiasts, those that like Porsche, and those that don't know it yet.
1
The wagyu steak of air cooled 911s indeed. Delicious!
1
There's so much deliciousness in this video I don't even know what to comment on!
1
I stayed til the end for the previews. Very excited for the upcoming stuff!
1
Definitely getting the headphones out for this one!!
1
Thanks a lot for the BTS. Might add some of these to the Christmas wish list. Can't think of a better way to relive great roads. Would this work okay-ish with the camera on top of the head instead of between the eyes?
1
Thanks! I'm hoping for me that it might be one of the few times it's better to be quite short. Those are few and far between in life.

Even more convoluted is how to set the default settings of the car when it is powered on and not in "M mode". When I bought my car, I wanted to have throttle response on normal for both modes. Reason being that I have the manual and I didn't want the different sensitivity to throttle inputs between the two modes as it makes for inconsistent rev-matching. My preferred settings: Normal - EDC:Comfort, Steering:Comfort, Throttle:Normal, Traction:On M Mode - EDC:Normal, Steering:Sport, Throttle:Normal, Traction:MDM Steering doesn't really add any feel in any mode, but I have it turned up a little just to make the inputs feel a tad different.

My shop was not able to get much camber on the stock EDC suspension when I did my alignment for autocross. I think I'm only at 0.9 deg front. We tried the alignment pins pulled even but that only helped one side and I wanted it even.
1
Just did my e90M oil Friday night as well. Didn't want to comment on the old vid, but I had to resort to your straw tip about the residual oil in the filter housing from the last vid since the turkey baster was nowhere to be found! Thanks!
1
Cheers for the channel update. Keep at it Tom! Oh, and that couch and M3 poster reminds me of something you haven't done in a while, Tedward Live with Eddie!
1
Before I start this video, thanks for introducing me to Mulle Music!

Bridgestone has a performance and a snow model for Blizzak's. I think the LM's are comparable and should give similar feel and dry grip to Vredeistein and Pilot Alpin. The Blizzak WS is the one that is more of a clunky winter boot equivalent to say a Michelin X-Ice.
1
Looked like good fun! I went and looked it up, bookmarked for next year maybe! http://www.yuppierally.com

Ahhh, I've been struggling with this almost as long as you have. Great choice on the Corsa RSC! I'm going with the MPE to maintain the airflow characteristics and stay a little more MA inspection complaint. How much of a struggle do you think the install would be in my home garage?
