  9. Had PS4S on the 981 GTS. I always liked how good they performed in the wet and also in the cold, like around freezing on a mountain road towards the end of the season. Never used them in the snow. Even on my daily Fiesta I change to proper Winters in October, weeks before the first snow.

  14. The teaching point is very valid. In Switzerland, it used to be that you weren't allowed to drive a manual car if you did your licence with an automatic car. So that's why almost everyone took the manual car license and is able to operate such a car. But a short while ago, they changed the law and it's now possible to drive a manual car even with an automatic license.  Because they assume that very few cars will be available with a manual in the future (EVs etc) and that this old license system is no longer needed.  Of course this also means that the amount of people actually knowing how to use a manual will get smaller...

  16. Fully agree with the last bit about traveling and memories. The people you meet at 4AM on a mountain are almost always good and are there for the same reason. As there are no parking lots, no coffee, no scene.

  25. I'm not really into these performance EVs in power-limo or SUV form. But city cars like the Honda e, ID.3 or even the Renault 5 are much more interesting. Those will make an actual impact. And hopefully will allow real, oldschool sportscars to exist in the future.

  36. GSA, being able to drive a manual car (in Switzerland) is actually nothing special. There are two licenses, one for manual cars and one for auto cars. Pretty much everyone gets the manual license so that they are allowed to drive both types of transmissions. And in Switzerland you don't get your license after 5min driving around the block. It's a proper driver education. Everyone passing knows how to drive a manual car. As for myself, I haven't driven a manual car in many years but I'd say that I'd get back in the groove after a a short while.

  37. Anthony, I would daily drive it. And I don't want to do that with a manual gearbox. It's the reason I cancelled my GT4 pre-order and got a GTS with PDK. But I'm happy to see Porsche finally offering both gearbox choices. So everyone can spec it how they want.

  38. Do you use your Porsche for daily commutes? I'd get annoyed by the clutch operation in heavy traffic and city driving. That's why I prefer PDK so that I can enjoy my car every single day, all the time and not just on a Sunday blast. Good on you if you drive it every day. It just wouldn't be for me.

  41.  @TedwardDrives  Our Military Puchs were almost like that. Two doors, open top with bench side seats. Very slow but very capable! Night and day difference compared to the new one. But way cooler than any AMG one!
