@anm3037 🙄 The federal state of Saxony, with its capital Dresden, used to be part of the ex GDR, while LOWER Saxony is located at the north West of ex West Germany, along the north sea coast line with its capital Hanover, and Bremen and Hamburg within the territory of LOWER Saxony !! LOWER Saxony Bremen and Hamburg have social democrats PMs (SPD), while Saxony/Dresden has a conservative PM (CDU). About the history = the ancient Saxons were living in todays federal states of LOWER Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg and partly Saxony-Anhalt (only the Saxony part). The federal state of Saxony is by name only Saxon, as it got its name due to in those days usual wedding politics, the people of todays Saxony are the descendants of the ancient Slavic tribes = the Sorbic people. The federal state of Saxony is neighouring with Chzech Republik, while LOWER Saxony is neighouring with the Netherlands .. Get your facts straight, before posting ! !

@britingermany Moin to FFM 😉 Hausratversicherung is mandatory, sometimes even needed to rent an appartment. This insurance pays for any sort of damage like Wasserschaden/shower/washing machine/dish washer etc, please look up for the conditions. Some include glass damage, stolen bycicles etc. Also mandatory: the Haftpflichtversicherung, Covers any sort of damage, which YOU have caused on goods/people etc. If you would have a car, there also is the Kfz/car Haftpflichtversicherung always to have. You can add the Kasko-/ or Teilkasko insurance to it, which covers damages like hale/water floodings/broken carwindows due to stones, a tree falling on your car, "Schäden durch Naturgewalten", etc, very usefull. Speziell bei Hagelschaden 😊 Back to the "Haftpflichtversicherung": Imagine the accident with your bike would have caused severe injuries on the other person (in most cases the "guilt/Schuldfrage" gets split 50/50 or simular, and suddenly you have to pay lifelong "compensation fee" to the other person, or "Verdienstausfall/loss of income" for various months etc, it would financially get you "stripped" pretty quick. If you pay those two insurances once per year (in January) you'll save money opposit to when paying a monthly or half a year etc fee. Sunny greetings 🙂 Edit typo/autocorrect

@britingermany Me too, but ... Might help (no, I don't get money for this 🤣), I'm with the "VHV", costs about € 79ish per year, it's one of the largest/best insurance companies for "Haftpflicht" in Germany, so you have somewhere to start at 🙂. Good luck 👍

@alidabaxter5849 Richard Tice stated in an interview: Brexit was about stripping down all regulations (protection of labourship, environment, banking etc) and to convert the NHS into a private health system US style. From the Brexiteers point of view Brexit is a full success so far, I'm sorry for you all over there which didn't want this, for the others not. All the best to you with greetings from Germany

@alidabaxter5849 😊 My London born spouse wasn't even allowed to vote at the referendum, like most Brits living abroad (EU27), which was quite frustating, therefor my spouse had to get dual citizenship. Have a nice day 😊

@britingermany You know what is the "real" reason for that smart advice? The "Kreislauf" 🤣, why? Because your stomach etc needs about one third of the "bodies energy" to digest, this also is the reason why most people, depending on the food they had, tend to be very "sleepy" after eating 🥱 ... Back to the "Kreislauf", when been in the sun/or shade, as it's hot etc and then one will go into the "cold(er)" water after a meal it could strain the heart/blood pressure/Kreislauf, therefor one could get a "Kreislauf Kollaps". When a plane is starting to take off or to land the "air pressure in the cabin" is changing (like going onto high mountains), therefor you have to "de-compress" the pressure in your ears = close the nose with your fingers and "blow" with your mouth until you hear a "plop" in your ears, it's for protecting the "ear drum", or you do the same by "pretending to yawn/same mouth movement", that has the same effect onto your "ear pressure". Could be that you have to do that "procedure" various times until the plane reached the wanted hight. Enjoy your flight next time 😊

So you're saying that most illnesses are self inflicted? Sounds a bit "churchy" for me (sin and penance), "Krankheit als Weg". How do you think somebody might feel when suffering with real heavy illnesses like cancer etc ... "oh I'm guilty" because I caused it myself. I just hope for you and yours that none of you ever experiences a heavy illness. You might remember some decades ago people with a "Magenschleimhautentzündung/Gastritis" were treated with "psycho therapy" etc, telling them it's all the stress, and then it turned out that there is this "little nasty bacteria" causing it and you had to take antibiotics for ten days and it was gone. Had a collegue who was suffering with that for years, doing the psycho therapy and, of course, didn't help. Just saying ... Edit typo/autocorrect

@pamelagartner3759 German here 😊 In case you're a Brit you know Bath. Lovely City and near the Roman thermal well is this extra "Spa" hall with the "warm Spa well" which you can drink. I did 🤣 🫥 🙃 🤮 The "Spa water" is quite warm, tastes a bit like an old tin and very salty and nowhere to get rid of the water, quite nasty 🤣 So in case you visit Bath, you know what not to do 😊 Greetings from Germany

Opposit to the UK/GB, Germany is working on its past. About Poland: it was sorted while Poland still was part of the Warscaw Pact and again at 2004, directly with Poland. But: there are elections coming up in Poland this year, therefor the PIS party is doing the usual "German bashing" upfront to "boost" the PIS party keeping in power.

@Ralphieboy I'm sorry to hear that !! Have you tried, when feeling the headache coming/early, to drink mineral water without gas/room temperature? As more water the brain gets, as "happier" it is. Sometimes people get a headache because they haven't been drinking enough over the day. Good luck and all the best 🙂

You're talking about "the EU" as if it's this "far away spaceship", in reality it's and was, when the UK/GB was a EU member state: about 90ish British MEPs were working/acting on behalf of the British people in the EUs Parliament. The EUs Parliament is the worlds second largest democratic Parliament with secret, free and independent elections (with PR) every five years since 1979. ALL EU rules/laws get worked on by the EUs Parliament, which have to be confirmed by the EUs member states Gvts and the EUs Parliament. Every EU member state has one voice to veto. Malta (about 550.000 people) the same as Germany (about 84ish million people). Every EU member state has one voice to veto. Therefor your statement, that "the EU" was "ruling" the UK/GB is wrong. @SpiritoftheDragonfly Germany is the country with the worlds second largest immigration quota directly after the USA. The recent German Gvt has just changed the law to get German citizenship, which gets reduced from 8 to five, and under extra circumstances can even be reduced to three years of living here. Since years it's possible to claim for dual citizenship as well. Being German myself and part of a family with includes six different nationalities (Belgium, Spain, Italy, Poland, British, German), I would say, that one can't generalise it to a whole country. May be you've recognised, that there are quite various politicians around, which have migration backrounds. And its not only politicians, but everywhere 😊

@SpiritoftheDragonfly Germany allowes already dual citizenship since years, but even various EU member states don't allow it, or like Canada (in your case). And yes, sometimes one needs dual citizenship, when being a citizen of another EU member state, like Brits, as long the UK/GB was a EU member state. Now Brits also have to give back their British passport when getting a second citizenship.. Have a nice evening 😊
