@MrWolfstar8 That’s nonsensical use of the word Wall Street as big corporations and high net worth individuals often invest without use of the markets at all. If you're going to accuse, accuse specific persons rather than this "anyone richer than me is corrupt" garbage. And again, many investors just say "politics is for politicians" and buy anything that's legal and cheap. Also, nobodies can also make controversial investments. I personally sold put contracts on the RUSL investment fund a soon after the Ukraine war started. The reason being so many people were dumping their shares in the Russian fund that the fund was trading at half the value of the stocks they owned and those stocks were trading below the liquidation value of the companies. This bet did not work out for me as the fund was closed soon after and I was forced to realize a loss, but this investment did not stop me from attempting to get a Ukrainian visa to fight in the war myself.

Or at least how a modern Brit thinks that stuff worked. Life back then isn't quite what he thinks.

No AI can possibly do what a skilled human has not already done. The technology simply doesn't allow it because it takes a human programmer to reward "right" answers and punish "wrong" answers.

Screw that fanfic and everything it stands for! Tolkien is dead, if you can't copy his style don't bother.

"The only way I got to keep them Tigers busy is to LET THEM SHOOT HOLES IN ME!" -Soviet tanker, prolly. :)

There's always another war

International law is pretty much worthless. There's even one treaty against landmines, and another against Apartheid who's definition is so off that Apartheid South Africa didn't meet the UN definition of Apartheid.
10
It definitely isn't. If it were we'd be hanging lawyers for defending men found guilty.

I think we're all gonna watch his hair turn ray putting out all these World War II battlestorm videos for decades. That how long it'll take to cover the whole war with his quality of work.

Tank drivers wouldn't exactly be idle since they were all issued rifles. It's just a bit of a waste to use qualified drivers as grunt infantry.

The Nazis equated the Jews with the capitalists though

Caveat: Much of the general public in the west was oblivious to these problems even as evidence surfaced so I wouldn't say "the allies knew full well," but you have to go case by case to see what decisionmakers knew what and when (mismanagement is just as deadly as malice).
9
According to the Nazis themselves there is no distinction between the two. And babbling about science is proof you're a teenager trying to stir shit up

Right when I thought your humor couldn't get weirder, I watched that intro with headphones on...

@tedarcher9120 if only it were that simple

You forget the conditions of Russia during Stalin's takeover, as the last battles of the Russian Civil War did not wrap up until 1939. Functionally independent White enclaves were suppressed mostly in remote Siberia, clashes with Imperial Japanese expeditions occurred in Mongolia, and many large units the Red Army itself revolted against the Politburo. A large portion of the Red Army were veterans of the Tsarist Army, especially at the higher ranks, many of these men openly distained the party, and many had been pressganged into service. The reason being Lenin and his cronies were not stupid men and knew their personal political appointees didn't have a clue about running an army. This is how the commissar system developed as a party member would be at each commander's side to keep him loyal and indoctrinate the men. The purges are also a bit exaggerated, as most victims were sacked or jailed and not killed. Many of these men would be rehired during Barbarossa.

Technically this was after the war with repatriations but it certainly was awful. I wonder if this had anything to do with how in the Korean War the US insisted that refugees and POWs be repatriated wherever they wanted and not to their hometowns.

Becoming a prestigious academic has a pyramid scheme like payoff. You pay someone to teach you, then must find several people that will pay you to teach them.

@HontasFarmer80 STEM grad school is notoriously toxic

Depending how you view Mao's actions they did

Unions are private entities over here. That's why a lot of workers don't want them because we have to pay them out of our checks
7
Sometimes the only difference between the two is who is telling the tale.
7
They probably aren't even aware of that war
7
When I sat in a tracher's chair for the first time, thinking back how my PhD professors are all trying to sound smart around me of all people, I realized that no one in the world ever really knew what the frick we're doing this whole time
7
One of the interesting points that isn't brought up: Hitler doesn't want to leave because getting men and equipment out of an area is even more difficult than getting them into an area.
6
@V0451 don't you have a math test to fail, kiddo?
6
Caveat to Yugoslavia: It's the state that formed when Serbia got way more than they asked for in WWI with the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The Croats were largely the children of people that had fought the Serbs in that war and were almost a big a state as Serbia.
6
It's like the myth that anyone can get rich. No, obviously not everyone can be millionaires. Most of us can only be successful by being skilled workers.
6
@valerieprice1745 Yes, people generally didn't starve but much of human life was spent getting food and shelter. You were considered prosperous if you weren't miserable during certain times of the year.
6
I know some that are, and some that aren't.
6
Germany wasn't really all that late to industrialize.
6
Come on, even if we didn't repatriate anyone it would still be referred to as a "war crime" because Stalin is full of it and American/British Socialists regurgitated anything he said.
6
Of course they can't. They each will only be happy only if they are in charge.
6
They envy the rich.
6
Japan only seized some small ports and sat the rest out.

@metaphorpritam Different castes aren't necessarily different races, they just like to pretend they are. Like how many lower caste people simply conseil their backgrounds and no one ever suspects a thing

About usury: Christian bankers found ways around it, mostly be taking interest in the form of intangible assets. Like lending to the king in exchange for a promise of protection, or simply making an equity investment and taking a cut of profits rather than fixed interest. Or you could be a state without territory with the templars and openly charge "rent" without fear of legal troubles.
6
How'd you know? You didn't watch it, gong fei
5
No joke there's science videos up saying "NASA discussing plans to send probe to Uranius. Quit snickering."
5
Thinking about Nazi vision for the east. It sounds like they were trying to recreate early Medieval Norse/Crusader/Kievan states. But those states didn't mass enslave the locals...
5
A name like "Hernandez" doesn't mean English is a second language. Here in America we have a ton of people with Spanish names that don't speak a lick of Spanish, and not all of them even look Latino.
5
Tell that to the ecoterrorists that want someone else to buy them an electric car
5
Even so, canned food is a big deal when starvation was a factor many times during the war.
5
@arifahmedkhan9999 do you even know where Jo-berg is, chump?
5
@UltraMAGA420 why the frick would we root for men who are long dead?
5
I think we can all agree that Hitler would join any movement he thought could bring him personal advantage.
5
I'll wager there's something horrific you would do too. If the occasion called for it.
5
Please leave history to those of us that read history

Correction about pre-industrial farms: Yes the pay was terrible, but people often didn't even use money. Instead they made everything themselves from scratch. I.E. Sewing and breadmaking was considered an essential skill among women and woodworking and other trade skills were considered essential among men simply because no one had the money to pay other people to do this stuff for them. THESE SKILLS WERE VALUED ABOVE LITERACY.

Von Hindenburg wasn't.
