For instance, the German trains were required to charge only enough to break even while the state would build any future rails needed. Free market governments set ration size and price when there was a shortage.

That marks the end of the Recession, but of course political retards insist the recession could only end if a specific politician assumed/left office.

  32. About the "breadline," when Adam Smith canculated minimum wage, he wasn't basing that on a matter of what was "fair." He was basing that on how much money a man needed to get food, shelter, and clothes for himself and four children assuming the wife and two of the kids were working. Also before the railroad "lean years" were common because poor harvests in one area could not be fully compensated by additional imports. It wasn't uncommon for people to spend 90% of their income on food during spring.

Hundreds of people, none of them have a complete picture, all in fear of death, all acting potentially independently or not at all, both teams clashing together in frantic random fights, all rushing to win before the other guy gets an advantage, and you think the average fight has anything resembling order? Think about it from the reverse perspective. Things are so chaotic that the side that maintains a smidgeon of order and coordination under fire often wins by a huge margin.

There was a Chechen Revolt during WWII that had nothing to do with the Axis, there was the paramilitary actions of collectivization, and there were many garrisons in central Asia throughout the war.

There were naval incidents in the Atlantic and people talked about getting into the war in Europe while Washington used sanctions to try and convince Japan to make peace with China. Although yes, it was a total surprise that Japanese carriers started the fighting rather than German U-boats.
