For rheir brand regardless of who they may sell to, the value atatement of their product is that it makes you "sexy" (whether true or not). So they would want to use models that people aspire to be, or view as "sexy". Specifically that as many people as possible view as "sexy". The issue wasn't that diverse customers didn't think the product was appealing before, it was some bleeding heart's 'brilliant idea' to try to force the world to find their appeal. Which may or may not have worked, but for most people, there is no benefit to that approach and it risks pissing off the established customers. But hey, "New Coke whether you like it or not" was successful right!? ...Wait. *Nate ended up brining this up. (Sorry for the redundant comment) But, for the algorithm...

To be fair, the US is like Canada now right? (Where being topless in public is legal) ...Whitehouse event rules may be more stringent (If they banned topless people with masculine chests). Though who is to say that's all the behaviour was limited to.
1
I couldn't remember if they went ahead or not. Also the event itself regardless of where... But it certainly looks bad to the kind of person they have been pandering too for the last 6-8years. Also the activist ended up commenting on it after I made the comment so it is a bit redundant. Though I don't care for their trying to be excessively sexual then turning around and shouting objectification. (they even said as much. paraphrased: look at me look at my chest, I covered it just in case but I wanted to show it off and celebrate my new gender).

Wait... didn't lightfoot commit a bunchbof crimes also?
1
@ServantOfChrist_77 You are asking me to detail something I have no direct knowledge of.
1
I am real tired of hearing people who bought into the 'wage gap' fallacy.
1
Did anyone stop watching the show because of her comments? Did people stop watching the episodes with her in after? If the answer is no they aren't skipping those episodes the firing is not justifiable.
1
I don't like that only now in testimony, Fouchi is being clear about the realities of statistics. I already knew them. Most people don't. Be he also didn't address the proposal that the odds were 50/50. Aside from justifying (not mathematically) why they felt natural occurrence was much higher likely hood.
1
She sounded.... slightly high.
1
"Let's not punish her as normal because it might have a chilling effect" I have never heard that for any other crime.
1
I agree with Mackie to some extent as well. This shouldn't be a "Only black people can work on the black project" It should always be diverse based on merit. And I know Hollywood is always backroom deals and nepotism, but if companies like Disney are "making Diversity front and center", that is the change they need.
1
Oh, he was actually on medication?
1
Is it nothing? because it seemed like a ridiculous conspiracy theory, that is largely irrelevant regardless. *WHY ARE THERE WHITE SQUARES? what photoshopping job is that!?
1
Again, true or not, aspects of it being true, some of the photos being planted (ex: the drugs), whatever it may be. I don't particularly care about the story. I am interested to know what the findings are, because it's been made an issue. But the personal lives of celebrities and politicians (or their families), I don't particularly care It's why I don't watch TMZ or ET, or Tucker Carlson.

Guy floors it, after saying he can't see anything and there is limited traction. ...Too get attention? to be a jerk to the truck? For the views? People make mistakes, and flukes happen. This guy... just dumb.
1
TYT is just garbage, like OAN it is even worse than US TV news.
1
Well you know what they say about accuse others of what you are guilty of. "objection leading" proceeds to continue.
1
But the 'allies' who complained about it won't be happy.
1
Even the more everyday extremists in the US are happy to threaten and encourage violence. Suddenly a discussion about abortion or equality becomes a threat. Or discussing the flaws of DEI... Then on the other side you have people in the crowd who upon seeing their opponents's actions start making needless threats (assuming all these accounts are genuine).
1
I am suspicious of groups now.
1
It's still a stupid phrase.
1
Why would she even comment on it?
1
OOOOf Megyn Kelly really laid the Smack Down.
1
If anything THIS narrative from CNN is going to hurt people coming forward for anyone who takes them at their word/opinion.

lol

Watching the video, why were the airline staff just ignoring an obvious nuisance to the other passengers?
1
I don't care for the man but I have doubts about grape.
1
good!
1
Is it "illegal", if she posted the video publicly (available, granted for pay) herself? *It surely doesn't sound like it, but laws are sometimes poorly written.
1
tsk, tsk?

I think it was probably in part the optics of his skin tone, but also who he is, what his politics have been and most importantly, his popularity. Like, if Wesley Snipes did it, he would be escorted out. If, Chris tucker did it... maybe. I feel it would be far more likely that Chris Tucker mime a slap or punch for comedy sake. But... The point is, If it were a person of less renown and definitely if they were of different political views, I think they would have been handled differently. The fact the agressor was up for an award (possibly already known to be the winner), that undoubtedly played a big role as well.
1
At the end of the day the media did the biggest wrongs.
1
I don't think any of those three are the best choice for The US, but... based on historical data the person with the most air time wins. Sadly that doesn't say much about a discerning population. If people want the country to get better instead of worse, listen to the quality of the argument not just if they agree with you, or wave for the camera. Plus if you are the sort who care nost about republicans winning and not the specific individual. Side with the center's choice.
1
What great ethics some of these MD candidates have...
1
Could you do a follow up with the legal aspects. Would you be at risk for harassment? Would she? what would come into play here especially if she posts a video in a private establishment trying to make it something it isn't and suddenly you are the news?
1
Well, I could see why Russians or the 'russian bots' (which may operate at any level of autonomy for all I know) would jump at any opportunity to support chaos. H311 they may even be promoting unpopular opinions which is why we have seen so many popularity upsets by people we long considered foolish (or it could be because they ran from tumbler to twitter, where most others had left, started shouting, then were presumed to be a representative sample of the majority). I digress... I could also See Megan or Bousie... or Amber Heard buying bots. So, I can't really say at this point either way.

If the city apartment is going to be sitting empty anyway... might as well. If it were going to be used for other things, she should be paying rent at least starting now, if not backrent. I don't think she should be in office, but it's up to the people of the city who voted her in in the first place.
1
These days with politics a trump fan (or trump opposer) might say anything to benefit their side.

We are living southpark.

So she committed a crime right infront of the police. Frankly an arrest or shooting seems inevitable with that kind of behaviour. (Not that I approve of how it was handled). and, she walked out with the basket once the clerk had their attention, she could have left it and they may not have noticed. Honestly it's almost like she wanted to get caught.

"I love when people are in love". I am not sure the relevance of that to the situation. But while I think it's dumb, self-serving, and inneffective advertising. I agree with the sentiment, hate doesn't seem justified, just don't buy the product. But making a fuss gets views I guess. ...And people do generally complain about brand changes anyway.
1
I know it's hard not to get emphatic about one's arguing points of view, but It makes me feel bad when you guys end up arguing with eachother. But that is how you get people to make try to make the best arguments for opposing opinions and perceptions.
1
I bet that woman didn't even listen to any of his old acts. They were filled with offensive s#!+ too, that's kind of his bag of tricks. Also the man had an entire act I doubt he was "just the guy who makes trans jokes".
1
...Is he not going to jail for burglary?
1
@PromptCriticalJello Do you think men can play onnthe women's team? I wouldn't mind trying out they seem to get nice pay and benefits.
1
@terrygregory3456 Assuming they didn't let them win. But... I typically don't see the most skilked women playing professionally, I see the ones with the biggest egos.
1
@Nate The Lawyer I do think it is unfair to say he is in love with the idea of marriage not her. It's possible you are right, but I think he may love her. But it's hard when people stop trying, or you have years of your partner's misdeeds weighing on you. You get stuck wading in muck, instead of pulling eachother out. They have kids so there is some motivation to stay together because of that. ...And she also maybe doesn't/didn't want to leave because her infidelity likely makes the divorce a total loss financially. Plus the bad press when more of the reality gets out. But you don't get sad about a person's infidelity or their disregard for a committment you value highly, if you don't also care for that person deeply. If he was obsessed or just cared about marriage as a concept it would just be anger at having his pride tread upon. But the man is or was clearly wounded.

16 years ago makes me a similar age, and I can tell you. cell phones were almost universal even a few years before then. If the records aren't deleted, there would be records. Probably on Facebook if nothing else.
1
I mean this isn't why but it is a direct consequence of it.

So not only scamming. But scamming the poor.
