There is a lot of animosity between the two peoples, which is really a shame because they are both fantastic.

Very nice to see Japan and Korea working together, I hope it leads to a long and friendly relationship. Moving beyond the weight of the past.

"yes you are being to cynical" No examples to counter his concerns.

India didn't have an accurate count before, they have probably been the most populous country for a while.

I think the more important thing is that someone apparently discovered how to turn skin cells into stem cells. That would be hugely beneficial to combating injuries, disease, rejuvenation therapy...
34
It doesn't matter. NATO didn't give weapons to North Korea, constantly try to claim other's territory, invade Crimea, or invade Ukraine. Whatever small issues may nuissance one or the other, the fact that Russia invaded a country and bombed civilian residences, schools, hospitals... is unacceptable. Unless someone shows confirmed evidence that the majority of Ukraine was involved in human trafficing this is unjustifiable.
32
It does and it doesn't, operating in China is widely known as a risky venture. Long term businesses would be better off with transitioning elsewhere until the country becomes more free.
26
The argument that it is rare does not negate occurence nor the obligations to treating those people. With the number of vaccinations the occurrence of lasting side effects is a guarantee, the question is how many people were affected.
24
This is why you cannot simply wait for the ideal counter attack.

To be fair while there is an obvious issue with the unanimous decision requirements in the EU. This attempt at forcing capitulation of a member nation, also seems like an abuse. Imagine if they were doing the same to attempt to force a religion upon someone. (Arguments of political polarization becoming a pseudo-religion aside), A mechanism that is able to do that is clearly an issue. Also as an aside that woman looks older than me, that is not a "young woman". Very inescapably middle aged. The problem lies in thinking there is something wrong with that.

Which is why Japan should get them.

They did not lay a lot of foundation for their asserted motive (but maybe it's a well known issue there???). It is true, reducing immigration does not inherently mean xenophobia. But at the very least it appears a bit exploitative, bringing in cheap immigrant workers then taking away their ability to become citizens. Dangling a carrot, then taking it away at the last second. It seems reasonable to have to uphold their end of a tacit agreement (and at least guarantee application) after someone invests so much of their life.
16
They weren't already at maximum sanctions? If not, this entire situation was massively mishandled.
15
We haven't been to the moon in a while so... there are bound to be a lot of 'firsts' still. Not that we should really care about those sorts of insignificant things, the important thing is the mission they are accomplishing.
14
This is actually how I was imagining the weather in Greece before going there.
13
Watching Clarkson's farm it seems like a web of poorly thought out red tape is a big contributor.
11
Any war for a nation as large and resource plentiful as Russia has a negative cost-benefit. Bullying countries and regions to be absorbed? Sure. Bribing their compliance? Sure. But the damage of armed conflict is hugely expensive even if they succeed. Imagine how much it would cost to rebuild Ukraine if Russia captured it.
10
My favourite also.
8
I like the Finnish model.
8
@squireson It's not hindsight we all knew this was coming, the governments more so. The UN failed in the same way the League of Nations Did.
8
Not necessarily, If you were a murderer or a thief...
8
Ukraine's Navy? Do they have a Navy? How did the russian ships get to their port without conflict if they had a navy? Or were naval battles just not reported?
7
That would have been considered price fixing here.
7
But people from Zimbabwe are so nice. *I have to say though, this story is unusually one sided, normally we hear from government officials as to why a policy is being made (at least allegedly).
6
@pnmetronariston4112 They came beyond the donbas region bombarding other civilian regions to protect civilians?
6
This is why there needs to be a world government by the citizens of the world. One that will enforce basic freedoms, protect citizens from their governments, and prevent wars.
6
Just have them escorted by a warship from the destination country or country of origin of the civilian ship.
5
This is why Ukraine themselves should have pushed into Russia earlier. So that Russians feel the weight of consequences of war, rather than a war exclusively on foreign soil fought by people hauled off primarily from remote places.
5
Alienating those you don't agree with just antagonizes them and makes them seem more like victims. Work together and when your goals align, great, then you can disagree the rest of the time, instead of halting all progress just to disagree "because it's them".
5
Or has the bar for 'far right' just moved so far that more people are caught under the umbrella and or antagonized so they adopt the labels anyway? (This is at least what has happened in the US where everyone is accused of being far right as soon as you disagree with or question anything). *doesn't sound as analogous in the video. Hopefully it doesn't become that ridiculous. Unless you want to give someone credibility as a victim and alienating them, listen to what they say and take what's good while condemning the bad. The quality of a proposal is not in who made it.
5
Remove opposition and no one will be left to disapprove in the polls
5
Having murderers and whatever else trained by the military roaming free, certainly won't cause problems later....
5
Of course! Were the UN more than just a clubhouse, there would have been a wall of UN troops at the border as Russia was building up forces.
5
Good luck India!
4
This is what war does, it makes people more cavalier about lives.
4
@somethinglikethat2176 I think that was more the news trying to sneak it in without offending the CCP
4
The number of wildfires either speaks to incompetence, or is a deliberate attack.
4
There are a lot of bridges and tunnels we need to build. To improve access to goods and services (especially emergency services), reduce fuel consumption, to save time, and to bring people closer together.
4
I still don't get why the world didn't make a mass show of force to prevent the missiles completion. Now it can only end badly.
4
Our inflation is higher than it appears. The basket of goods has not increased at the same rate. Some extremely high, others not st all.
4
A good question, did covid make people diabetic? I have heard of several cases personally.
4
Good luck!
4
The Dilbert guy fell into a trap. You don't combat being antagonized by antagonizing right back. That's a self-fulfilling prophecy. ONLY criticize the behaviours of people, do not stereotype. The views of those certain extremists in 2020 triggered a race war, by supporting segregationist views and literally antagonizing anyone who offered any criticism of their actions regardless of if criticism was constructive or still largely in-line with their beliefs.
4
I hope this is resolved in the way most favourable to the people. That said, it would probably be positive to have all news funding declared to show possible biases.Think of all the US articles bought and paid for by companies. But that's not what this is, it's a restriction and penalty not just transparency. Another reason why we need a real global government. To Protect the safety & rights of citizens everywhere, even from their government.
4
Anything that sucks time out of your day in a non-constructive way will drag you down.
4
Time to make a global government to be a hammer to crack down on warmonger federal governments.
3
Meanwhile North America is trying to recreate the Caste system with different factors (non-profession based but a 'victimhood' based system). Both are bad. The US also needs to get on board with outlawing discrimination by association.
3
I agree with the sentiment but it's not a good justification for such an archaic censorship. A law dictating transparency and bias free recommendations as well as better controls on requests for and access to personal information, would be better suited to resolve the broader issue.
3
I swear all the unrest is caused and amplified by the news bringing up and poking at old and forgotten wounds.
3
But if you analyze the data from around the world, mandating vaccinations and indeed the vaccines in general do not appear to be helping with this variant (or at least, with significantly less effect). Clinging to a formerly effective solution (that is now less effective), while very human, is not the best way to actually resolve the problem at hand. Beyond the rights concerns, it can also waste resources that could be better utilized in a more effective pursuit/approach. Then you also have to bear in mind, what consequences you might have by following ineffective solutions, on future initiatives as they rely on public co-operation. Co-operation is hard to regain.
