  5. Woah woah woah! People need to have context when hearing the BS statement from China. China limits internet access of its citizens and has only one authorized social media. It is hypocrisy to criticize the US for a much lesser policy to what they do. Also, It is completely within US government rights to control national security. Not to mention to simply limit the usage of a device for their employees and contractors. Just as any employer can say, "You can't put anything on your work phone except work applications.".

  21. To be fair, half of the US has been "demanding" the other side step down for the last few presidents. But in this case, if it happened I know the Russians want Moldovans to help surround Ukraine. Moldova is far better off staying out of the war. No loss of life, territory, or infrastructure. Plus they keep more freedom. If they join to help Russia they wouldn't even gain anything as a nation, only Russia benefits.

  28.  @priapulida  In North America these days it's largely just a cult of misogyny under a thin veil. Equality is important. But no one stomps on a woman's agency here like a self-proclaimed 'feminist' demanding and coercing women to tow the line, or to fulfill their idea of what success looks like. Spoiler, it's emulating the most "toxic" male stereotypes they loudly play victim to. We should be calling out all bad behaviour for what it is (regardless of perpetrator), not trying to stoke division, or seek a double standard. All that does is a create self-fulfilling prophecy by antagonizing one another. When someone's life and career is built upon fighting something, they have a perverse incentive to perpetuate the problem lest they lose their purpose (few people have the integrity to relinquish power when it is no-longer needed. In part, or in full). I hope other places learn from the mistakes made, and take a direct course to making the world a better place for everyone. (Rather than walking blindly into the same pitfalls and regression).

  33. On one hand this should have been prevented, it is different than the US and S. Korea defense drills. On the other hand. Interference would be used as an excuse to attack. So was this in response to the NATO drills or the meeting in the US? (Either seems likely, maybe the former just gave them an idea). On the plus side, now you know how they are going to attack and can start preparing.

  36. Would you say only non-violent protest is allowed when the government started exclusively using violence against protesters and restricting freedoms by force? I would note that you yourself would be imprisoned or disappeared, possibly tortured for merely presenting the news as you have.
