They won't even put in logical restrictions that responsible gun owners agree with. Your base level comparison falls apart the instant you subject it to any analysis.

  10. I don't know, sometimes I'd isn't enunciated well. Listening to the clip I am not 100% positive that he only said 'I'. I would need to see the audio file to see if there was a quiet d sound before I supported either stance. Regardless, his assumption is a little unfounded, because he also has terrible relationships with... every European leader... and probably worse relationships, with those who he cited, than he believes.

  12. I am glad he said it, it means even they see the hypocrisy sometimes. Really the lesson for them is, don't just fall in with the hate train because of WHO said it, just for yourselves evaluate the merits of WHAT was said.

  13. Boycotting and demonstrations are fine. I agree labelling that as "cancel culture is absurd". But David, you are literally using an argument about guns that you have refuted, to justify dismissing "the few" cases. That should tell you to take a step back and re-examine. The specific type of situation people are unhappy with aren't that few right now, and I think for your own personal sense of truth and thoroughness should look into this further. In these cases there isn't even a boycott, people are just so afraid of the internet mobs that they capitulate. And You are right it is a few people doing trying to make these things happen. But they are doing it hundreds of times to anyone and anything they can. And it is absurd that people and companies are listening to these few extremists who wouldn't even affect their bottom line even if they did boycott... which they again, aren't even doing, or threatening to do.

  14. Identity politics is one of the biggest barriers to human progress at present. In countless situations it has been in fact, regressive. Other big barriers are things like, incompetent presidents and hyperpartisanship.

  30. This is both anti-bigotry and bigotry... good, contradictions are the spice of life lol. Conservatives are not synonymous with racists, or mean, no more than liberals are. Some are unpleasant people, others are not. I know the types of people you were referring to specifically, and that's true. However, we should really about this mass labelling/stereotyping thing it's just polarizing everything and that's not solving problems (the right stereotypes the left, the left stereotypes the right. As a result no one has a productive conversation).
