I thought you were closed down today because of weather? Not complaining. ๐ It's a good thing that some of your thoughts are just fleeting. ๐ You need to get a Creme Brulee Torch to use for your shrink wrap jobs. $27 on the internet. Always nice to see Lauren.
1
It's always the last fuse.
1
If you lived in New York state, that truck bed would be on the floor right now. 19:31 Always nice to see Wife Unit and Child Unit.
1
The 6.6L Duramax L5P engine is manufactured at the GM Duramax plant in Moraine, Ohio, USA.
1
Why isn't this vehicle going back to the people that installed the new engine? I would think it's their responsibility. I would like to be a fly on the wall, when the owner confronts the installer. Looking forward to you making it right.
1
PT Cruisers and Jeeps. STAY AWAY!!!!!!! 7:59 You should use that chipmunk voice for the whole video. ๐๐ฟ
1
Always nice to see Lauren. At least we have that. ๐
1
Wife unit. ๐

I've been driving a stick since 1957. Started with 3 on the tree, progressed to 4 on the floor. Drove multi gear trucks in the Air Force. My last Camaro was 5 on the floor. (piece of junk car). I've been automatic since. Always nice to see Lauren. The owner of that truck isn't going to like that phone call. ๐ณ Looking forward to Part 2.
1
Nobody else there to give you a hand pulling that out? Smartened up putting the new one in.
1
I think NAPA sells VW Shmuu. ๐๐ One of your best videos.
1
I think I would have beat on the pump before doing all that electrical evaluation. Like you said, you drove it in and then it stopped starting. I never saw such BS to pull a fuel pump. What I like about my Mazda Trubute. Pull the seat up, pull a piece of carpet back and take out 4 screws and there's the pump. Thanks Ford!

Question: In my day, break fluid was highly corrosive. Lately, when watching break jobs etc., care isn't taken when dealing with break fluid. Is it not as corrosive as it used to be? "One hand for the nuts, and one for the hose"? ๐ค๐ฎ๐ Sorry.๐ Always nice to see Lauren and the Child Unit, no matter how briefly.
1
If they didn't bother to road test the car, you can imagine what they actually did to the car.
1
That's what I said. ๐
1
ย @peterpierce9233ย Joe's Garage and Rehab? That's where I went. What a coincidence. ๐๐๐
1
Remember the days you removed the engine from the car. Now you remove the car from the engine. ๐ค๐ Ray, I have to hand it to you. You seem to know what your doing. I watched all thee videos. Excellent job. ๐
1
Easy fix. Buy something other than a Jeep.
1
Remember the days when all you had was an air filter and a carburetor? Cars ran fine.
1
S**t happens.
1
You showing Part 1 all over again?
1
Always nice to see Lauren. Doing all this work over that big gaping hole in the tank. :face-fuchsia-wide-eyes: That's what I like about my Mazda Tribute. Nice little door under the back seat and there's the pump.
1
Sure was a slow X2 speed.
1
So you're saying the cam and the crank sensors are the same? Is this true on all cars? If those 2 actuators are sludged up, what do the rest look like?
1
Can they make it any harder to pull a radiator? ๐ Why do you get mad? You don't have a boss up your butt.
1
Your new clamps rust out easily. OEM, no matter how hard to put on, are much better.
1
Why do these manufacturers have to hide all this stuff? If they're electronic, why don't they set them all up on a panel in the trunk? I can see why they're going electric.
1
Cars today are unbelievable. Talk about over engineering.
1
You broke it, you fix it.
1
Design engineers are A holes.
1
No English major? Yup. We know that. ๐
1
You'll have to change this from Rainman Ray's Repairs to Hardway Ray's Repairs. ๐ค๐
1
Do you see what happens, when you state how easy things are going? 10:54 / 11:11 Definition of 'put the kibosh on'. ๐ That car is kind of a silk purse on a sow's ear, as the saying goes.
1
Storm blew right by you. Did I sense a hesitation on the torgue of that insert? ๐ Did you say $100 insert set? Talk about taking advantage. It's the American way! ๐ฏ๐
1
I'm sitting here yelling "YOU FORGOT TO TAKE THE PAPER OUT OF THE PORTS!" 28:00 How did it ever start up?
1
Maybe all that crap in the car is throwing all the setting off. If this trash truck had a problem that was in the interior someplace, would you accept it in that condition?
1
Nothing worse than un-lubricated phalanges. ๐ This vid is why my car has 255+ k and has the same mechanic for each mile. Are you sure this isn't a Jiffy Lube training film?
1
Every Jeep is a project. They're all crap.
1
I have no idea who Gale Banks is. ๐ค
1
ย @gibdonovan8113ย Not everyone who watches Ray is an auto mechanic. Did Gale make my life any easier?
1
Owner must have deep pockets.
1
My 2001 Mazda Tribute, with 263k+ on the OD, has a leak at the timing chain cover. You would figure, no big deal. Problem is the labor cost to fix this is $1500. Mechanic says, I might as well change the timing chains while I'm at it. None of this is going to happen. 22 YO car w/263+K, I'm switching to 10w30 and putting sealer in. 10:38 For a guy who breaks off studs in engine blocks, you shouldn't comment on a previous mechanic that puts a zip tie on.
1
When do we get introduced to the new help?
1
Why couldn't the previous shop find this? Trying not to go into a higher tax bracket? Going the extra mile with the hose down. I'm impressed. Nice job Ray.
1
But make it difficult for the dishonest.
1
Upset and disgruntled. ๐คจ
1
The van should be in a junk yard. Pretty bad when the tires are so dry rotted that the rubber comes off in chunks. I notice, they have different tires on each wheel. Not a good practice. Different tread pattern. Another reason why there are chunks flying off the dry rot tire. Don't forget to PYA on the bill. How that shock tightens down, is probably why it fell off.
1
When they get "into the same room", they start listening to a political party that has a completely different agenda. I never knew George Carlin to be wrong. TANGENT MAN being attacked, :face-orange-frowning: for telling it like it is. I agree with you wholeheartedly Ray. I had the same opinion of corporate America, and I was told through my whole career, that I 'had a bad attitude'. I was actually introduced to new employees as the the guy with a bad attitude.
1
I have 270K+ on my engine and have never run a cleaner through it. Car runs great.
1
You don't have an electrical box where you can just trip the breakers to turn everything off? A new era in your life. Good luck man.
