That's pretty much true. Lived in Asia for years, and I must say that Western nations, for all our faults historically and now, are more accepting of migrants and foreigners generally than many of the nations that presume to call us racist. Same goes for whiny SJW types who moan about "white privilege". Now, living in Asia is fine for me, but the racism in many places is damned obvious. To my surprise, Indonesia is mostly very good, but Singapore varies, Malaysia too, India is seriously racist, as is much of China, especially the urbanised ones. I know a lot of liberal types will dump on me, but facts are facts, and are independent if their precious, hand-wringing outrage.

Calm your tits, people say things differently, especially Americans: Water (Waddurr) Tomato(TomAYto), schedule(skedule) , beer (beyrr), Iraq (EYE-rack), Nikon (N-EYE-kohn) and, the most amusing is Adidas (Ay-dee-darse). There are more, but hey, if we Brits can cope with American mispronunciations, you can take one.

Yeah, that's an inconsistent tradition, as presidents are often considered, in error, to start their term when elected, though they do not assume office for 2 months or so, eraly in the following year. That also undoes the 9/11 conspiracy nuts, as GWB had only been in office for 8 months, and Gore had been widely tipped to be there, and the planning for 9/11 had started during Clinton's time. There is no way GWB could have had any role in it. Now, dodgy three-letter agencies is another matter, their negligence was in part due to cute during the Clinton time and Bush Sr time.
