  7. ⁠ @randalthor6872  The surface temperature of the moon wasn’t hundreds of degrees below zero during the Apollo landings. Apollo 11 occurred during what was effectively morning. The surface had likely been in direct sunlight for days at that point. Radiative heat transfer was the primary mechanism for temperature change. Heat transfer is not instantaneous. The camera wouldn’t suddenly drop hundreds of degrees just from being in a shadow. Objects will slowly gain heat while in the sun and slowly lose heat while in the shade.
