  2. The death of the Queen was crtainly predictable, and I said so before. All too often people of the Queens generation lived through hell. But I have seen other older people who, when their partner dies, the surviving partner usually only last about 12 - 16 Months before dying as well. Given that Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth depended soooo much on each other. Once Philip died, a part of Elizabeth died as well. I thought she wouldnt last very long after the death of Philip. But the Queen held on for quite a while.

  11. It is always the case World wide, if you have a mortgage you MUST have home insurance. If people cant afford the insurance, they must sell the property. Then there is California and Florida......When disasters happen, you think you are gonna claim on your insurance policy? Erm...NO - the insurance company will just go bust. Insurance companies like you to pay them money, they do not like paying out.

  12. In the EU a waiter\waitress is a highly regarded profession and therefore demand a higher wage. Also a service charge is included and that goes to ALL the staff. In America, the waters and waitresses rely on tips, with little of no wages. That is unlawful in Europe. Go for the restaurant that doesnt pay the serving staff a decent wage, that is the standard the restaurant sets itself, good luck eating there. Its a bit like the banks with No Tellers that Dan is always banging on about. They dont pay or treat their staff well, and that is the service you deserve.

Which means that Insurance companies revenues are down 50%.....that means existing customers have to take a hit with higher premiums. The Insurance companies have made a ton of money on Home Insurnce, but now, they are not renewing policies in Califronia or Oregon. The Insurance Companies know WHEN the Eathquake happens, they are out of business. The Insurance Companies have a formula for predicting the likelyhood of an earthquake ansd what it will cost them. Maybe, the AI they are using is predicting a big quake in Ca in the next 3 year,s so they are ditching all the policies. Why would people expect to pay inurance and when its time to claim on their policies, they find out they are NOT covered. You guys inm the US get scammed ALL THE TIME and you put up with it??

  21. As property prices crash, the rental market will collapse to something reasonable as well. During the 2008 recession my buddy rented a house from the bank, it had been reposessed and the bank couldnt sell it as they would lose too much money, so they rented it out. It was just a case of waiting for the housing market to improve before ending the rental term and selling the property. Banks dont want to dabble in property rentals, but needs must.

They are not allowed to work more than 42 hours per week. That can stretch to 48 if required. The idea of 50 year mortgages is bounced around as youngsters cannot get on to the property market as the prices are too high. If there is no influx of new buyers, the market will collapse.   41. Not every one. Many companies had offices in SF and the companie spaid higher wages becasue property is expensive. Now they have sold up, moved to a cheaper town, as the work from home. Naturally as they are NOT coming into the office everyday, the wages are dropped accordingly. The company couild force them to come into the office again, they would have to sell up and move to the city once again..

  49. I've been telling you that for the past 2 years Dan. If you are in the US and work in bank branch, you will be out of a job very soon. This happened in the UK after the GFC, ALL our banks rationalised and got rid fo the money losing sections. i.e. bank branches. We lost 80% of branched closed down thousands redundant. This did not happen in the US. But its about to happen now. Especially the big 4 banks. No branches, all banking i done online. No cheques, or money orders. You get used tot he new bnorm. the last time I wrote a cheque was in 2009. It is coming to the US very soon. If you work in banking - you will be out of a job very soon, better be prepared for the changes. If the big 4 wnat to survive this crisis, they will lose 80% of their money losing branches.
