@ilidiocarmona4827 So many morons where do they all come from?
1
Twisted Life It's been over 2 years since we voted to leave the political elite and business class who probably combined have less creativity and business acumen than James Dyson have worked tirelessly to get the decision reversed, do we yet know if we will definitely leave. Is it any wonder and who can blame him for doing what's best for his business now rather than wait for competitors to gain an advantage. Not me.
1
@Hadi Purwanto Dyson still has interests in the UK, a new research and development centre in Swindon for one thing, the more profitable his business the more he will have to invest in the UK whether we leave or not but likely he will be investing a lot more if we leave. He is a typical Brit, more ingenuity and acumen than the EU bureaucrats and business elite combined.
1
@matthewbaynham6286 The EU will suffer too much if they deny themselves access to London's financial services while London will do what's necessary to survive, doubtless the EU could keep passing legislation to try to curtail London's involvement in EU financial deals but that wouldn't be helpful to their international credibility. The EU has a lot to think about.

@Enrico_Palazzo_opera_singer Is it cause I's black.
1
@vermicelledecheval5219 The common folk are suffering unduly today from globalisation, EU regulations, illegal immigration and the virtue signalling British elite. They are as much or more down trodden and dumbed down today as they ever were that's what taking back control really means, making the government accountable through democratic vote with no where to hide as was the case when Britain created it's Empire. Obviously that would not be our objective for the future that's more the EU's problem it seems to me. The current situation where the wealth of the top earners have increased their wealth by something like 250% while the average person's wealth has increased by 12% is not something I want to support.
1
@hpvspeedmachine4183 I never count my chickens.
1
@vermicelledecheval5219 I see where you're coming from but there are so many problems that the EU has not addressed in all it's existence or planning to meet the needs of it's highly diverse collection of countries other than by gradually destroying their diversity. The states of America have much greater autonomy than those of the EU I fear the only solution is back to square one and work out a new plan with the benefit of hindsight it may be possible without the lies and obfuscation used previously and taking a much slower more democratic approach something worthwhile could be achieved. Humans are fundamentally animals and differences matter, each new generation has to undergo a civilising process or most revert back to their animal instincts a project such as the EU must build from the bottom up as much as the top down. Life can easily return to jungle rules as it has done so many times in history despite the best of intentions and we don't seem to far away from that now. People are so good at believing in the illusions they create until finally reality takes a hand to create situations for which they are totally unprepared, COVID 19 looks like a wake up call we seem to have escaped from a big disaster this time, by luck the virus does not appear too serious but the next one could be different. Unfortunately intelligent, unambitious and experienced people rarely have much influence in policy making, I would love to know how Trumps administration really works, the most reasonable, sensible and believable U S politician I have seen on TV in the last 6 months was a black republican member of Trumps team well past middle age and a beacon of hope that the media is totally wrong.
1
@davebox588 At least we might get the chance to see if your theories play out, hope your not too disappointed. How do you like the idea of swingeing tax increases on second and third home owners.
1
@mrmyloc When driving in your car if the police want you to pull over and get out of the car do you pull over and do as they request or do you sit in the car start shouting, refuse to do as they ask and behave like scum always behave when they disagree with something?
1
@davebox588 Maybe but would it be a good thing.
1
Corbyn is laughing at you now under that scowl.

If the EU were to continue to exist I think every country in the empire would have to have the common currency, ever closer union means ever closer union, it has to be one way or the other for the EU. It's just empire building by the back door with the Brussels parliament eventually taking control. How the French and Germans will feel about ceeding total control when and if it comes about depends how long it takes and how it's done. Hope it doesn't get messy.
1
ML do you mean GREAT as in large and powerful or great as in jolly good fun, depriving countries of self determination in managing themselves and telling people like the Greeks how lucky they are to be in the EU.
1
Pity the poor Americans, Australians, indians and every other sovereign country then I guess.
1
All the places you mention are not countries, they have evolved to their present State.
1
@ramatgan1 Good thing we have a growing white underclass to do the lynchings for us, as you say the country has lost it's morals and banned capital punishment.
1
It would seem inevitable and a good thing too that we will leave, once the break is achieved it will be even more interesting.

Fake news.

As to be expected of someone who wants to remain.
1
@Sam-lw6mx The EU is the biggest unicorn I ever heard of.
1
@Sam-lw6mx But not working to our advantage and puts too many restrictions on our freedom of choice while promising things it can't deliver such as the Euro for all and peace and love.
1
@kaba_me Me and a few million others, must be a case of mass hysteria. Strange but I heard the same thing said about remainers.
1
So so wrong.
1
@KingScorpio84 The banking system of today evolved post democracy.
1
@KingScorpio84 They must be losing their grip.
1
@KingScorpio84 Why ever not England lives quite happily with Europes and the EU loving Brits anti English hatred, and their even more fervent hatred of it's working classes.
1
Angela, brilliant you've just solved half the problems of the middle east. All that's left is to solve the rest of their problems.
1
@heather725 the greater the challenges the greater the attempt for totalitarian control.
1
Seems like a pretty good proposal to me, we''ll get most of what we voted for with the ability for parliament to give us whatever the country decides is desirable in the future. In effect we have got our democracy back and we won't be bailing out the EU in the future. If I am correct in my view the EU and the EURO are unsustainable without changes that will be unacceptable to the majority of people in EU countries we will avoid the consequences of any decisions the EU takes in the future. As long as we have our democracy we are in control, it's obvious which politicians don't have the UK's best interests to heart, it's unlikely the EU will agree to the deal Michael Gove described on the Marr show, if their is any significant backsliding from what I heard this morning then we have a problem if the no deal option is not pursued.
1
The single market was created to try and achieve some worthwhile benefit from EU membership, but it doesn't make being in the empire worthwhile.
1
An empire is an entity which holds sway over the peoples of other countries, the EU claims to be a joining of countries implying all have equal importance, power and influence in the union. This is clearly not the case with the countries representatives in Brussels and certainly not the case for the voting population of the countries. The often cited democracy of the EU is merely democracy of the elites who are not representative of the populous. The REAL people of Britain are prepared to suffer any hardship prepared to make Britain GREAT again and a true democracy.
1
By real I mean the people who live, work and pay their taxes to the UK.
1
Don't you understand what democracy is? It is not electing leaders to a parliament that does not represent the views of the electorate and removes the judicial power out of the country and gives away sovereign power.
1
Well it seems you prefer living under the new EU empire and thinking it's better than the past I take it you're not Greek? All empires die, I hope it's not to painful for you.
1
The Franco German empire is not exactly like the old UK empire it is a 20th century construction to achieve the same ends. It is yesterdays solution to the questions of achieving peace and economic growth, though it has some agreeable features it has to many undemocratic features to be acceptable to enough of the populations it seeks to govern. What comes afterwards is what you have to decide, I think the evolution of the British Empire could provide some answers.
1
Any emotional fury as you call it is against our loss of democratic rule. You think Germany and to a lesser extent France do not dominate the other 26, I think you are part of a shrinking majority.
1
My point is that everyone does not have a veto and democracy cannot be operated by proxy. You can call it a political organisation or whatever you like but it still operates pretty much as an empire and looks more and more like an empire as time passes.
1
British democracy elects a government that has produced a manifesto, if the government does not keep to the manifesto pledges it is held to account by the media and the opposition. If desired they lose at local elections followed by a general election. That is democracy not the backroom deals and opaque machinations carried out in Brussels. No system is perfect but ours is as good as it gets. I hear very little about EU politics on British media and have no desire to take part in making legislation for foreign countries.
1
Torian when did they have the vote on the EU's brexit deal offer for the UK and why didn't Britain use it's veto?
1
In our democracy we know what our representatives proclaim to stand for, what our parties proclaim to stand for and we can see when they don't carry out or support what they said they would and then we vote according to their performance on issues that directly affect us. What happens in Brussels is to distant and it's decisions have too far reaching effects on us with no control by us. As I said who voted on the deal we have been offered and what is the process for scrutiny and re-assessment, it would probably take a lifetime by when the issues would be different.
1
Have you heard about the report just out saying the UK will suffer economic under performance after Brexit, what a surprise, we have been outsourcing the running of our country at an increasing level for the last 40yrs. looks oddly analogous to the Carrilion debacle to me, so the sooner we run our country the better I think.
1
Is it economically advantageous to EU countries if a free trade deal is struck with the UK and an arrangement to have common standards is agreed?
1
He'll be ok when he sobers up
1
Correct it has come to your rescue if that is your view, but it will be temporary.
1
You say there can be no hard border but obviously there can be, how it is operated and how people react to it is another matter maybe they should fly a balloon of Mogg.
1
@bucketsandshims That's the way that war begins, can't say I'm surprised it's been looking more and more likely lately. I wonder how many will survive this time the potential for the greatest reduction in population numbers in human history must be on the cards, never mind, the planet will survive and thrive.
1
The Tories under May are trying to have their cake and eat it, attempting to fool the electorate into thinking they're trying to take us out of the EU, trying placate the EU by achieving Brino and all done to try to retain their jobs. All they're achieving is alienating voters and risking putting the UK into the hands of people who view Venezuela as a great success. If these are the best politicians this country can find it makes no difference if we are in, out or continue shaking it all about.
1
@kevinallsop9815 A difficult question you raise on MP's pay, a big increase would require a fundamental reorg of our political system with no guarantee we would ever get it right. But it doesn't look too right at the moment so who knows how it will end?
