Short range air defenses such as Pantsirs have a 90% success rate in shooting down HIMARS rockets, its why Ukraine has given up in trying to shoot towards strategic targets far behind the frontlines and are now using HIMARS as battlefield weapons which are ineffective.

Russian air defenses got used to the HIMARS strikes and created a software to detect these missiles and make it easier for the interceptors to reach its targets.
