  2.  @lastword8783  Over the past couple of weeks it's nowhere near a 1:1 trade. The Ukrainians have destroyed a few Russian vehicles here and there. Whereas entire Ukrainian columns have been smashed up. There's also footage of Ukrainian units deliberately crossing into Russian lines to surrender.

  8.  @RazorMouth  The Kherson offensive was a morale boosting press release by the Ukrainian ministry of defence. Russia has already retaken the territory the Ukrainian army gained there at great cost. The Russians have also regained most of their losses around Kharkov.

  11. Even if Ukraine with its NATO missiles destroyed the entire Black Sea fleet, Russia will still win the war. Sorry to state the obvious but it's a land war. Russia is taking ground across the entire front. Ukraine is struggling to replace losses. All the propaganda in the world won't change those realities.

  14. The large majority of people in Crimea want to be part of Russia, not Ukraine. If anyone has been following this war and honestly believes Russia is going to be ejected from Crimea, I can only suggest widen your sources because it's vastly more likely there'll be the Russian flag going up in Lvov than the Ukrainian flag going up in Sevastopol.

  20. It's because the ex officer clown is trying to BS us and he's not very good at it. For example his ridiculous bluster about whether Ukraine is actually getting tanks. It's actually getting light IFVs and APCs which will almost certainly get destroyed when they come across a real tank or get hit by even the lightest artillery. It's all about propaganda. Look how many tanks we're giving is way more impressive than we're not giving any tanks but here are some lightly armoured tin cans which US soldiers in Vietnam called iron coffins back half a century ago when M113s were actually modern.

  22.  @tubthump  The other interesting thing about Bakhmut, the Russians just released footage of an underground road all the way to Chasiv Yar. The Ukrainians were doing rotations through this tunnel. The whole area has huge salt mines.

Meanwhile back in the real world, Russia is fending off Ukrainian attacks, pushing the Ukrainians back in several places, closing in around Bakhmut and have almost taken Soledar, cutting off the remaining Ukrainian defenders. But the British media is still banging on about the Russians being defeated.

There have been plenty of videos of units criticising their commanders, refusing orders to advance, justifying retreating without orders etc. Yes, SOME Ukrainians remain highly motivated, a lot of these will become demoralised if the current offensive collapses - as I expect it will.

  30. Seems overstated to me. Sure we see a lot of destroyed Russian vehicles but it's a large scale war. Both sides are suffering casualties. That doesn't mean the Russians aren't winning. Their advances are slow but they're still advancing. So long as they can keep advancing, sooner or later their spearheads are going to join up and Ukrainian formations will be cut off. In any case, why would we take Ukrainian government claims about Russian losses at face value? For example they claimed two IL-76s shot down, one full of Russian airborne troops. Two weeks later, do we have any further details? Where's the crash site? The only photos we've seen are from a Ukrainian aircraft shot down in 2014.

  34.  @cann0708  Highly unlikely that Russian casualties are higher than Ukrainian casualties. In the fighting around Kherson, even Ukrainian officers admitted their casualties were five times the Russian casualties. Russia has an abundance of heavy equipment and artillery, Ukraine has a shortage.

  44. It's totally delusional to think Russian losses are anywhere close to Ukrainian losses over the past couple of weeks. Entire columns of Ukrainian vehicles have been smashed to pieces. The Russians have lost a vehicle to HIMARS or artillery here and there.
