The difference is, Gaza is their homeland, here is not. Just because we don't want them here doesn't make it right that Israel commits mass murder over there.

@THX-ic8yw In the immediate aftermath of the bombing the panicked police had no way to do anything better than guess. Police are notoriously bad at even guessing the size of a crowd let alone the numbers killed in a city in ruins.

The normal name is the War of the Three Kingdoms. Scotland was hugely important, the wars make no sense without Scotland. Ireland was important too. On the other hand, the British Civil War makes no sense because there was no Britain as a political entity at the time.

What should have happened instead? Millions of Jews arriving in Palestine was a disaster for the Palestinians. Britain had obligations to them too.

@FredScuttle456 I regard people like him as much worse. The Vichy police were trying to protect traditional French society from the left. France before 1939 had similar but milder problems to Spain, there was poltiical violence and extremism. Modern British police are the left.

@demonshelby1311 I totally agree with that. What really object to is the hypocrisy. So much of the Western media the Western political elite (especially in America but in Britain too) is giving Israel a free pass for the kind of behaviour nobody else would get away with. Personally I'm politically to the right and I find it outrageous commentators I agree with on most issues spout such ignorant (or disingenuous) nonsense about what's happening in the West Bank and Gaza which is objectively worse than anything Serbia did in Kosovo or Russia did in Donbas or even anything the old regime in South Africa did.

@rewdwarf123 Impossible to know exact numbers but from the identities of those known to be killed, almost half of the Gazans killed are female. Almost half are children. Does that sound like accidental collateral damage to you? The Israelis themselves admit they'll destroy an entire apartment block full of people if they expect they're going to kill an enemy commander. We know for a fact they have targeted areas where refugees were ordered to move to. The IDF just doesn't care because they know Western media and Western politicians will make excuses for them no matter what happens.

@Toyotaamazon80series The biggest rapists in Western Europe were the Maroccans in the Free French army. Obviously few French people wanted to be occupied by the Germans. But any time your country or town is fought over, your friends and family get killed, you have a year of starvation and you have to rebuild your home afterwards.

I doubt that's the real reason. It's more just geopolitics. The Common Market was a joint project dominated by France and Germany by which Germany subsidised France. Once Britain joined, French influence was heavily diluted. De Gaulle also saw Britain as too closely aligned with the Americans - one of biggested economic and financial rivals of France.

@colinbirks5403 LOL learn some history yourself. That wasn't early in the war, that was after the collapse of France and most especially, after the RN sunk the French fleet. And no, Vichy France didn't side with Germany. Vichy France sided with France. After the collapse, they tried to stay neutral as long as possible.

@forthfarean That's irrelevant. You would never argue the 1940s Germans never committed genocide just because their target populations were later able to replenish their numbers would you? Look up the UN definition of genocide. The Israelis have committed massacres at various times. Read Benny Morris and Ilan Pappe, both Israeli historians. The fact is in this conflict, there are murderous genocidal people on both sides so be very careful before you take a side at all.
