LOL isn't it obvious? On any subject he takes the most optimistic interpretation for America and the most pessimistic interpretation for America's geopolitical competitors. Plus .... he makes stuff up. Case in point - the Nordstream pipeline bombing. Back when that happened he had endless reasons why it must be Russia who blew up their own pipeline. Now, that has been totally debunked.
1
Wait until you see one of his videos on the Ukraine war :P
1
@joythought Sure, Ukraine admits they have a huge armour disadvantage, a huge artillery disadvantage and a huge air force disadvantage and Russia fires many times more artillery than they do but Ukrainian casualties are lower. Riiiiight
1
@tommyliu7020 Yeah both sides do. But they also hit a lot. Beware of cherry picked video evidence.
1
75 years without a war ... ignoring the war NATO started on Serbia
1
@debater452 Yeah according to dumb people who believe what they're told from the media. Even if you believe Serbia was at fault because you haven't looked into the lies told to start the war (just like lies are told to start most wars), you can't deny NATO started the war.
1
@plebius Sure some may fail but if you look past the propaganda of the Russians are incompetent narrative and look at what's really happening in Ukraine you'll see that Islander and Kalibr missiles usually hit their targets - and usually destroy them when they do.
1
@orcho141 As if you know the first thing about economics. Read Roger Bootle on Brexit if you want to dig deeper than slogans.
1
@MesiterSode What so NATO bombing Serbia and seizing territory off a sovereign country is a civil war??
1
The Germans were never allies for America. During the Cold War they were cannon fodder. Since the cold war they've been economic competitors.
1
Yeah Shoigu who lives in a $18 million house stole $63 BILLION. According to Peter Zeihan. Who knows how much Shoigu stole better than the Russian government or Putin.
1
Why would you believe the Russians "are basically down to throwing raw recruits into the fray"? Jeez you really need to check out some neutral sources if you believe that.
1
The Ukrainians do double taps too. But you'll never hear it from Zeihan.
1
Also people who lived under communism are immunised against politically correct propaganda about how good immigration is.
1
Of course, protecting ships from Somali style pirates is easy. It doesn't even take a navy, it just takes a few well trained guys with a heavy machine gun and an anti-tank missile. The real problem is protecting ships from the likes of the people who blew up Nordstream. And the Russian response to that would be to sink Western ships.
1
Netherlands and Denmark found the same thing, crime of immigrants from some non Western origin was many times that of the overall population.
1
Good for destroying societies you mean
1
Most of what the guy says is wrong I'm surprised you'd pick on such a minor detail.
1
@jehandesains8674 Ukrainian morale is failing too, it's not just numbers. Nobody wants to sit in a bunker and get buried in the rubble or vaporised in a TOS strike without any means to fight back.
1
Except without the high Russian casualties. Only around 40,000 identified Russians killed so far out of around 140 million population.
1
Yeah for someone who's supposed to be a demographer Zeihan comes up with some pretty stupid stuff. Then again the narrative is more important to him than logic or details.
1
Because their economic is built on natural resources and engineering, whereas the US economy is built on lawyers, diversity consultants and unfunded liabilities.
1
Better late than never :)
1
@Qwairy yeah because only "vatniks" think the side with more firepower, armour, airpower, manpower and a healthy economy is going to beat the side with none of them. Zeihan logic. Right.
1
@Marie_West Zeihan is a geopolitical snake oil salesman. Close to everything he says about Ukraine or Russia is propaganda. I was impressed first time I heard him and read some of his books but he's made endless wrong predictions and when he started talking about stuff I know a lot about, it became completely obvious he's full of **
1
That means WWIII which will be nuclear. The far smarter option is stop this utter BS about Ukraine joining NATO and start negotiating realistically and by realistically I mean realistically acknowledging the reality that Russia has won this war. Every day the war goes on, Ukraine gets smaller.
1
@dylanbuchanan6511 He might be "factual" but so many of his facts are wrong. He's very slick and I was initially impressed until he started talking about stuff I know something about then it's obvious he's full of BS
1
@dylanbuchanan6511 One example is when he was discussing Scotland. His overall take was ridiculous. One particular detail was he claimed that Scotland has the oldest demographic in Europe - complete bollocks it's about mid range for Europe. The next thing I know a bit about is Ukraine and Russian-Ukrainian relations - his overall narrative there is even worse. It's like the CIA propaganda version distilled down for dummies. And whenever he speaks about Russia and Ukraine he makes endless factual mistakes, can't even pronounce the names of big cities and keeps banging on about Russia wanting to take back certain geographical bottlenecks so as to be better able to protect itself ignoring that nuclear weapons make this kind of thing irrelevant.. Overall the man's full of shit
1
@dylanbuchanan6511 If you seriously believe the 2022 invasion was unprovoked there's a lot of important stuff nobody's told you and you'll never hear from Zeihan. Some good books are de Kaspar's Ukraine in the Crossfire (too old to cover the lead up to the invasion but some important background) and the most recent book on Ukraine by Jaques Baud - which does cover the proximate causes very well. You can find a summary on youtube, he's done some interviews.
1
@dylanbuchanan6511 What do I think of Putin? I think he was backed into a corner. He tells lies like all politicians but if you compare Russia now to how Russia was when he took over, he must have done something right. What do you think of him? Do you believe he's the reincarnation of Hitler like the media tells us? Or is he obviously insane because he won't allow the transgender cult in his country?
1
The lesson Ukraine taught the world outside of the Western media propaganda bubble is that underestimating Russia gets your country wrecked.
1
Yeah because there's nothing Russia can do, not like they're the world's largest nuclear power or anything.
1
No, he's just as bad on every other topic, the difference with this video is he's talking about something you know a lot about so it's more obvious.
1
@blafonovision4342 What neutral ship did the Russians sink or seize?
1
@blafonovision4342 Seizing enemy ships is not piracy. I really don't think escalation is in anyone's interest. A US-Russian war would probably turn nuclear. I hope you realise that means billions of people die.
1
@kylekitchen16 LOL sure lots of Russians emigrate often temporarily but this propagandist clown Peter Zeihan claims the country which trains the most engineers in the whole world doesn't have enough engineers to fix railway lines! Think about that for a minute ... assuming you're capable.
1
@chechnya According to Zeihan, China is going to backstab Russia and grab Siberia. Also according to Zeihan China is going to have a famine and lose 500 million people to starvation. In reality, Chinese and Russian relations have never been better and China is now allied to one of the world's biggest food exporters with which it shares a land border. I mean the guy doesn't even pretend to consider evidence that doesn't support his USA good Russia/China bad narrative.
1
@ivancho5854 LOL the Russian economy is booming. Sanctions didn't live up to their promise - and that's saying it generously. Look at the oil price cap joke for example. Even the EU admits that's a failure now.
1
@srwven LOL the problem with Peter Zeihan is not that he leans left or right. It's that he's a spokesman for the US state dept. and the CIA who shamelessly propagates disinformation.
1
That's already happening. The VKV is actually flying over Ukrainian positions now because Ukrainian air defense is so degraded. So FABs can be launched to destroy Ukrainian positions whereever they're detected 50 to 70km from the front lines. But the clowns on this site still believe Ukrainian casualties are lower than Russian casualties.
1
A lot of his "facts" are actually lies.
1
@johnmackenzie9028 Improving drilling technology is making stuff like that more economic to produce. The end of Scottish oil got called decades too early.
1
@flowertowerrr I trust him too... to find out what the CIA wants the sheep to think.
1
Biden is hated more than Trump. When Trump won he was polling behind Clinton. Now he's actually polling ahead.
1
One of the terrorists has a Ukrainian passport and was a member of the Ukrainian military. They were stopped heading towards the Ukrainian border. It's really not hard to see why Putin might think Ukraine might have something to do with it. It doesn't look like the typical jihadi suicide attack does it.
1
Yet their economy is growing, their military production is growing their population is solidly behind the war. Every problem the Russians have the Ukrainians have much worse.
1
There's zero evidence it's just a circular argument from this propaganda snake oil salesman..
1
@mitchconner403 Non sequitur. Besides which Israel illegally occupies the West Bank to this day. The UN demands they leave but Israel ignores the UN. So much for the "rules based order" the US government keeps lecturing the Russians about.
1
Both equally deluded but in different directions. There are more realistic options.
1
Whereas US politicians are beyond reproach. Trump is sophisticated and modest. Biden is sharp, incorruptible and articulate, though neither of them have the gravitas of Trudeau.
