@Mike-fo3qh , here's the other, dangerous side of "woke": There are numerous stories about how "wokeism" is finding its way into mathematics. YouTube doesn't permit outside links so you'll have to research it yourself. The laws of nature don't care about philosophy. They only care about right and wrong. "Right", and the airplane you designed flies safely. "Wrong", and your airplane crashes. If the plane crashes on a Black neighborhood, it's "racist", but if it crashes on a white neighborhood it's "social justice", right? I think most folks would prefer that the plane didn't crash at all. Dr. Richard Feynman, in the wake of the Challenger disaster, said that unlike the laws of men, the laws of nature cannot be fooled.

@nk-dw2hm The only problem with your reasoning is one of standards. Who and what determines what the definition of an insurrection is? You? Me? The editors of the local paper? See where this ambiguity is leading? This is why this question must be resolved on a nationwide level, otherwise you end up with a patchwork of eligible vs. ineligible states for a nationwide contest. Consider this scenario: Trump wins every state in which he's on the ballot. Because of the states in which he was ineligible, he loses the election along with the Republican candidate who ran in his place. When the electoral votes of Trump and the other guy are added they create a situation where none of the candidates has 270 electoral votes. Now it goes to the House, who chooses Trump. I can hear the gnashing of teeth and rending of leftist garments now.

Trump: 255 electoral votes. DeSantis: 38 electoral votes. The election goes to the House. The House chooses Trump on a party-line vote, because he received the most electoral votes.

There is a very old axiom in the business world: enter politics and risk losing half of your business. Now, if you have a 401K, you're a stockholder. You want the maximum return on your investment. You expect the management of the companies whose stock you hold to act in a manner that will be responsible for the company and the shareholders. Employees are tools. When the tools act in a manner contrary to the growth of the company, management has a fiduciary duty to replace them with tools that will. The model of employment has its roots in the pirates of the 1700s. Work well and you will be rewarded. Work poorly and you will be replaced. Mutineers usually walked the plank. You'd think that since "Pirates of the Caribbean" was a Disney franchise the management would be familiar with this concept. The way I see it is that the company has two choices: continue down the path of politics and cultural issues and lose money, or concentrate on what's necessary to grow the business. The public, and Wall Street, are watching.
