"It's also probable that these protests wouldn't be happening but for Trump as president." Wrong. There were riots in Milwaukee, Baltimore and Charlotte N. C. under the last president.

I stopped listening to Sam Harris when he started making appeals to authority like that.
14
What? Her campaign went silent for an entire day.

Sam Harris is only right in the sense that the left is more angry because Trump is president. In particular, the identitarian left is really angry. For the anti-war left, Trump is a better presidency than Obama or Clinton. What's really offensive, is that leftwing progressives run Minneapolis. It was their incompetence. If these protests/riots have a point then it's a repudiation of the left-wing Democrat governance of American cities. The whole orgy of destruction is progressives deflecting from their incompetence.

"Identity politics is dead." He's right about this ridiculous obsession with identity groups and grievances. But also, Kamala Harris was a terrible candidate, who is completely unable to intelligently address the important issues. Whenever she was given a serious policy question she would just run out the clock with a word salad. They nominated a candidate who made Trump looks like a savant.
7
@G_Demolished "Treason" LOL The Democrats didn't even care when BLM set St. John's church on fire. There were 1000 BLM/antifa riots, but when there's one MAGA riots you guys posture about law and patriotism. Get out!
6
@Kompieter Zelensky can either accept a security deal. Or he can continue the war he's going to lose. Ukraine has no more soldiers. They're conscripting old men.
5
@mitch6962 Bingo. I used to be a Sam Harris fan. But he's changed.
5
@smallstudiodesign " + hate speech isn’t free speech" Yes it is. Non-offensive speech is never an issue in dictatorships, theocracies, etc.
5
@nonyabusiness31 How many wars were there under Trump's first term? Now, how many under Biden, Obama, and Bush?
4
@bobbywright6062 Every Democrat, without fail, who lacks the integrity to own up to this disaster, brings up Trump. Trump didn't abandon US citizen, US allies, leave the Taliban with more military equipment than some first world countries (the have more attack helicopters than Australia), and leave the Taliban with a list of collaborators for them to execute.
4
@sandcastledx It uncovered that the authorities were lying, obviously.
3
@RobSKIDDY Sam Harris, and thus many of his followers, is out of touch. He totally fell for the "Russia Collusion" lies, without any critical reflection over 4 years.
3
@curanderoverde The normal thing would be to address your election party. That's one of the many divides in this, and recent, elections. Trump respects his supporters. Harris and Clinton do not. Harris paid Oprah 1 million in donor money to go on her show.
3
What's so wrong with her? We had a candidate who couldn't answer basic questions any candidate knew were coming. "What are you going to do differently than Biden?", "What are you going to do on day one?"
3
She was actually one of the more moderate Daily Wire people, and was why she left. She wouldn't unquestioningly accept zionism, and their entitlement.
3
@souljaboyisbad You think bumbling incompetent senile Biden would have have prevented any deaths.
3
All these riots are in Democrat controlled cities. The Dems stoke this hate for short term political gain. I can't take him seriously anymore when he talks about politics. Out of touch elites like himself are the reason Clinton lost and Trump won.
3
A friend of mine was in Brooklyn where the metro is above ground with a good view of lower Manhattan. He said he could see small specks falling down the sides of the towers. Those were people jumping to their deaths'.
3
@billn2348 That's just stupid. Actions make one good or bad. Trump's presidency resulted in peace agreements. Hitler directly exterminated 10 million, and caused a war which killed 80 million. Thanks for clarifying why I don't respect Sam Harris. Enjoy your regressive clown show.
3
This BLM movement with the riots and public intimidation reminds me of the Muhammed cartoon riots. Both are mobs demanding submission, which they get publicly but get the opposite reaction privately.
3
He will wear a yellow gortex jacket, and will play the role of the lesbian screaming at the sky. "NNNNNNooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!"
3
The cultural issues, and the Democrats' silly and perverse woke policies played a role. But most people voted for Trump because of the higher cost of living, high mortgage rates, his incompetent foreign policy, and unvetted mass migration. And Harris is a part of this incompetent administration.
3
What would be wrong with "President Candace fucking Owns"?
2
It's revealing how perverse the leftwing establishment and culture is that they go upset because he recovered completely from covid in a few days, with theraputics rather than a vaccine.
2
minxymissy1 Black Identity groups have no legitimate cause in Britain.
2
All doubts that Sam Harris is a ridiculous person went out the window with his discussion with Andrew Sullivan.
2
@grantsmythe8625 Nice stereotypical example of TDS. The things they're saying on CNN are mostly made up bs, not real. It's BS coming from his political enemies in government agencies and bitter DNC operatives.
2
She couldn't distance herself from her self. She's on video supporting free transition surgery for illegal immigrant detainees. What a stupid idea.
2
@metaverseb Well, that's disturbing.
2
@debrickashaw9387 Um...the president was literally shot on stage and got back up immediately.
2
@kevywevykevy It wasn't just the bullet grazing him. The 90 felony charges, along with the civil cases, proved his courage. He was unfazed by it. Harris supporters melt down when someone mispronounces her name. You guys made yourselves look really bad with this.
2
Sam Harris was spreading the Russia hoax election fix theory for four years. So even his disdain for Trump over that is just hypocrisy.
2
I used to listen to all his pod cases. But now he's much worse than Noam Chomsky with his goofy self-righteousness, with clownish statements like: “The things that make Hitler worse [than Trump] are actually virtues. I mean like courage and a commitment to something beyond yourself.”
2
@billn2348 Does this sound rational to you: “The things that make Hitler worse [than Trump] are actually virtues. I mean like courage and a commitment to something beyond yourself.” -Sam Harris
2
@SomaRiver I have a PhD and I endorse the O.P.s comment. So now Sam has to take it seriously.
2
The anti-Trump crowd grossly overestimated how much Americans care about January 6, 2021. Politically it was a wash, as about half the public is aware how it was dishonestly politicized. (Yhe Democrats spread lies about the death of Siknick, there are videos of police letting people in, and other videos of people being arrested and then let go behind the security (obvious instigators), and the video of the police firing plastic bullets and flashbangs in the crowd, injuring several and leading to the deaths of 4 protesters.)

China wants tariffs?

@bojnebojnebojne "Climate change" is used promote many political grifts, eg. taxes, counterproductive technologies such as electric vehicles, and scams such as carbon capture. The only thing I know of that can actually make a difference is switching to nuclear power. We've already largely switched from coal to natural gas, which has half the carbon emissions. Wind and solar aren't stable, so can't be used as the basis of a power system. Otherwise, we just have to adapt to a changing environment. We're very good at that. Deaths from hurricanes have gone down drastically, because of improved buildings and transportation.
2
@AhmedElmanzalawi Interesting how we predicted that Trump would triumph. It's also interesting that Biden and Harris were able to rehabilitate Trump's public image by being terrible and ignoring the concerns of the public.
2
What I don't get is that Trump was one of the better recent presidents. The Biden presidency consists of BIden causing serious problems, then backfilling the problems he created, and then arrogantly taking credit for the problem improving slightly. It would be comical if it weren't a serious matter.
2
There's also a common Chinese phrase that sounds Ni Ge. You hear it all the time around people speaking Mandarin. And what do you know, I heard about people freaking out about it in America. There's no limit to the batshit goofy idiotic moralism from these people. People need to stop taking them seriously. There was a guy in my facebook feed who thought there was a "white supremacist" poster in the Portland Federal courthouse. It had a picture of the "OK" hand sign with the 3 small fingers raised. The guy actually thought some secretary or lawyer had "white power" paraphernalia. And, duhh, it was a Portland Trail Blazers Three Pointer gesture. They need to be treated for what they are, people with severe mental problems.
2
I used to like Sam Harris. But he just comes off as part of the corporate media grift, since about 2016. Eg. how many times were we told that Biden is empathetic, unlike the "asshole" Trump. But does he show it? Absolutely not.
2
Chomsky's view is self-refuting. His position is that US foreign policy is brutal and cruel, so there's no reason to care about murderous extremists. The conclusion doesn't follow from his premise. In fact, Chomsky has been accused several times of genocide denial. He has minimized the Bosnian genocide and the Rwandan, and the Cambodian. His his response to this was always this cranky obstinate "F-U...what the USA did was worse." He even considered Clinton's cruse missile attack on the Afghanistan camps to be a war crime, when it was a response to al Qaeda blowing up two embassies killing hundreds.
2
@keithboynton A free thinker is certainly not someone who falls for CNN corporate media narratives.
2
Statements like that are why I stopped following Sam Harris. It wasn't even the most shocking thing to happen in the previous 6 months. There were riots all over the country with buildings set on fire and people killed (with the support of the Democrats). Holy shit, just this statement by Sam Harris is more shocking than Jan 6 : “Osama bin Laden is far less reprehensible personally to me than Trump.” And like every deluded person, he has to make a Hitler comparison (and a really really bad one): “The things that make Hitler worse [than Trump] are actually virtues. I mean like courage and a commitment to something beyond yourself.” Let's ignore that Trump is not a mass murderer.
2
@pablowall The Democrats contested the 2016 election (for 4 long years). The difference is that the Republicans aren't such emotionally unhinged cunts to compare that with terrorism. In a functioning democracy people are entitled to oppose the certification of a vote. It's not like Iran or Russia, where you have to accept the result whether or not it was crooked.
2
@bobgolden939 It was the crime of interrupting Congressional meeting. That's not a coup attempt. I used to listen to all of Harris' podcasts, and watch his debates. But, not anymore. He's become ridiculous. The Democrats claimed the 2016 election was illegitimate, and actually went after people with the legal system.
2
Sam Harris lost all credibility with 4 years of over the top Trump hysterics. Then the "adult in the room" that he praised, orchestrated the combined equivalent of every foreign policy debacle in the last 50 years in the span of a few weeks.
2
@EllEss331 He voted for Biden. "I promise to do my goodest job."
