The majority did, those who voted for Trump and those who didn't vote.

For Americans what is not typical is a Prime Minister announcing a resignation. Normally they don't see it coming and get kicked out , the process typically takes 2 hours or so when parliament is sitting and they can have a party room meeting. Unlike with a President in the US system removing a Prime Minister is an extremely simple process and doesn't indicate anything about wrongdoing, only that someone is considered better for the position.
5
I would say it's a case by case thing. Those are deep in the cult can't be reasoned with. Those who are having second thoughts might be open to being reasoned with and considering non propaganda news which they probably haven't seen for years.
5
He's got nothing on him. Putin didn't suggest dividing up Ukraine and sharing it with the US. Trump did. Trump's goals for the US are the same as the other expansionist countries, Russia, China and Israel. He envisions that the US can expand so long as he allows other countries to do the same.
5
If they were Mexican strawberries buy up.
5
Based on another report those in the Republican Party who won't vote for it because they want more cuts not higher taxes for corporations. It's possible what does get through could be even worse.
5
I guess after jobless rate rises due to his trade wars and possibly a stock market collapse he might reconsider his actions. Things have to get pretty bad before he will reconsider his crazy plans.
5
What stood out with that remark is Trump wanted to be thanked personally. Zelensky has thanked the US many times. The dear leader wanted to be thanked personally, not the US.
5
I knew one had done it, but now they've all done it , that's gonna hurt. It doesn't hurt a single Canadian though, choice of brand doesn't matter.
5
It's going to be strange when Mexican products will cost more in Texas than Australia because they are included in one of our free trade agreements which will have declining tariffs over time and probably a lot of tariff free items already.
5
Also government services are better than many other states.
4
Even if legally that might be correct, there's no possibility the provinces would do it without federal government giving approval.
4
Complimenting Trump is actually effective. A different approach doesn't mean one approach is better than the other in both cases Trump has been told it's bad and we will retaliate. So actual policy is the same, just a different tone.
4
He might be looking up himself, he and or his companies might actually be the number 1 receiver.
4
I wonder if Musk has considered adding an extra 0 to his government payments.
4
Well to be fair it's definitely a trickle. Can't call it flooding down.
4
Hard to say, it's possible Trump will increase farm subsidies like he did last time but given what's going on now it's possible he won't.
4
It'll take a while depending on the product because some imports into the US from countries other than Mexico and Canada have quotas, it's after the quotas get used up things will hit big time.
4
Still too high, it might even be making a loss by now.
4
I would say that's one of the most problematic issues with USAID because it often destroys the value of local crops making them worthless. Food should be purchased on the open market and only if food can't be found relatively locally as in a neighbouring country or whatever should it be imported from far away and then ok to advantage American farmers because in the end the US is paying.
4
If you are of working age and have high skills you would be welcome in Australia or New Zealand.
4
The enemy of my enemy is my friend. As an outsider I would suggest leaving anyone who is attacking Trump or Musk alone, truth is they can do more damage than you probably ever can if you are anti MAGA. Anti MAGA also includes never MAGA Republicans and ex Republicans and Independents.
4
The US is great in respect to being the largest high income country and still for now the most powerful military due to higher technology than China which is catching up fast in my opinion. The US isn't great and never has been to any great extent regarding being a moderate socialist and well regulated capitalist society often referred to as social democracy.
4
Well that's not really true. The US produces only about 4 agricultural products in excess, corn, soy, pork and chicken. Those products are cheap. Basically everything else is supplemented with imports. One clearly common misconception is that the US is a beef exporter when it's a net beef importer. It could go in 2 different directions for US beef producers, they make more because of higher prices or they make less because people with less money end up buying less beef and more chicken and pork.
4
Probably not much because as a general rule it's really hard to sue a government. Not impossible but more difficult than if it was a private corporation or individual.
4
Should be any country leader, not a world leader which cuts out all the smaller and or poor countries.
4
Here's the problem, DEI can mean encouraging minorities, however it can also mean affirmative action by choosing the preferred race or sex over the most qualified. First definition is fine , second definition isn't fine because it literally discriminates against certain groups.
4
Of course he is, the Australian one too this time around it seems.
4
Don't worry, those fruits and vegetables will still be coming in from Mexico.
3
Of course they do, let's say GM builds a car in the US, after Trump gets in if he follows through all imported components of that vehicle will be taxed making the price of the US made vehicle higher.
3
@annboyle8490 I know he did the right thing, I am just pointing out personally I couldn't control myself that well.
3
He's busy, he does 20 or 30 executive orders a week and all but 1 tend to be stupid.
3
That's if they have a job. If I worked in a business with a lot of exports or imports I would be afraid of losing my job. If Trump puts tariffs on the entire world every country will be forced to retaliate. Exporters are probably more at risk than importers because the US isn't going to start making small electrical items or basic clothing, it's just not going to happen unless imports are banned outright for certain goods like Trump intends to do with electric vehicles it seems.
3
We are diplomatic. In the short term the trade war if it happens is actually going to benefit Australia. Why would we attempt to become involved in the trade war as a combatant against the US? We need to look after ourselves or Australia first.
3
@tiawarren5403 Well actually two thirds of you, people who didn't vote wanted this too.
3
I liked the British Colombia politician location for his speech with sea ports in the background giving a not so subtle message that things can be exported elsewhere.
3
US exporters of certain goods will be hit very hard. 100% chance Mexico and Canada will coordinate there responses to achieve maximum problems for the US. There will be certain manufactured food items that the US exports to both countries as an example.
3
It's dear leader sort of stuff. "God we thank you for blessing us with President Trump", paraphrased but that's approximately what was said.
3
Every country that does significant trade with the US is preparing, that's just natural. Have to remember he has threatened tariffs on all imported goods.
3
I don't know where you get that idea from, minimum age of 18 is the only limitation legally. In practice though it's unlikely someone Trump's age is likely to be elected head of the party in our major parties.
3
I am an Aussie and I am joining the boycott. Hard boycott on US products and soft boycott on US companies operating in Australia.
3
A different system of government, removing a PM literally takes a couple of hours, removing a US president needs to be for misconduct and have 2 thirds senate support. Since the Republican senators for now are showing total loyalty it can't happen any time soon.
3
It's not about in the military as women have always dominated in the nursing field for example but combat roles. While it might not apply so much these days due to how modern wars are often fought, a big concern was/is if a woman is captured she would likely be treated worse than a male especially regarding sexual violence.
3
The cartels will have more smuggling opportunities, imagine the value of a smuggled load of avocados or car parts.
3
Hello scammer
3
It's a serious problem in the US in general. People on the Democrats side are only slightly better. The current situation in the US was done in a bipartisan manner. It would be good if US people could look outside the US, even if it's just starting with Canada and realising some things are better there.
3
You forgot Mexico.
3
Trump is just a nasty vindictive person. He doesn't care how much he hurts Americans as long as he hurts others.
3
It's morally corrupt but not legally.
3
@bobcosgrove3235 Actually we do if tariffs are put on our exports to the US.
