It's strange the initial targets seem to be Democrat areas. It would make more sense to start in Republican areas where there'll be cooperation.

There's one major country they seem to be holding up well for now, China. Of course Chinese leadership can change that any time they want just by telling people to not buy Tesla.
53
There will be more desperate people from the economic fallout and potentially more users so it is more likely to increase supply.
38
There's nuances to what you say. Elected officials can't just enter any federal facilities in this case. Military facilities in particular can have extremely limited access.
26
That's every government for the last 40 years or so. So both parties obviously.
23
Indirectly using the word obesity is a massive problem is very true, yes obese people are massive.
22
No evidence he fired.
17
@justinp8599 Join who might I ask. Trump was the biggest deficit spender in history and Biden wasn't much better. I am an outsider but even I can see that no political group in the US wants to improve the government deficit.
14
Probably some will fly over the US to Mexico.
13
I honestly don't understand the billionaires agreeing to tank the US economy with trade wars. A lot of these billionaires will be negatively affected as well. If the pie is smaller there's less to go around. Maybe billionaires only care about relative wealth. The poor will go down further than the billionaires.
11
I agree with the headline because there's only 1 country where Tesla sales are holding up and that's China.
11
@anna8331 Not wanting to waste money on a sports car is sensible. A BYD Dolphin costs around $20,000 USD in Australia, a perfectly good vehicle with more durable batteries even if the range isn't as high as Tesla. Most people don't drive over 400km each day.
11
Like it or not , Trump has a mandate. Two thirds of the population are happy with him, must include the non voters. If they had an issue with his agenda they should have voted. Americans need to take responsibility for their actions.
10
Well they'll have even less once the Trump tariffs kick in.
8
The very last point was interesting. It almost sounds like Zuckerberg is excited about the idea of Trump putting tariffs on countries under an oligarchs command if a country annoys one of them.
8
Not only demand to put out fires but also burnt out buildings will have water flowing freely until someone turns it off at the mains. I am sure this is being done but in some cases it's probably difficult.
7
His current promise is to increase costs with tariffs but that prices will magically go down in the future. A bit like covid 19 will go away before Easter.
7
You forgot the other members of the alliance, China and North Korea.
7
Tariffs are a socialist policy. A bit ironic implying socialists are always lefties.
7
It's nuanced. The government puts the rules and regulations in place which creates either a more competitive environment or a less competitive environment. The government also regulates monopolies such as utilities like water and electricity if privatised. I am Australian and we have a more competitive environment for things such as agriculture, supermarkets or at least many of the products stocked in supermarkets being cheaper which is actually a surprise because wages are lower in the US. The US has more import tariffs than Australia already which along with New Zealand and Singapore can be considered a truly free trade nation. Trump plans a big socialist experiment by putting tariffs on everything imported. This virtual removal of competition will dramatically reduce competition and higher input costs for manufacturers importing goods and lead to price rises. Even something like ground beef which the US imports from various countries like Australia will go up in price. So if Trump does what he says you should complain to him when burgers get more expensive. Because there's no plan to increase minimum wages places such as Burger King and McDonald's will suffer or be selling more chicken which the US produces very cheaply.
7
It's basically a test of nervousness. Sycopaths will pass it every time and nervous people will fail it every time. My guess is your president would pass it every time.
7
I think you will probably be shipping things around or through the US to each other, a good example is fruits and vegetables which will now be cheaper to send from Mexico to Canada compared to the tariffed price of US fruits and vegetables. Trudeau did mention fruits and vegetable as part of the retaliation.
7
Well $2 Trillion in cuts would be absolutely ruthless. If massive cuts to welfare handouts don't scare you they should.
6
I am with Trump on this. Those persons mentioned Pete and Matt are qualified whether you like them or not. Appointees should be rubber stamped so the government can start to function. The US is the only democracy in the world that appoints it's ministers through some slow laborious process.
6
You must be rich and not involved in export or import or retail. I guess you will enjoy watching the North American economy tank. A strange thing to enjoy watching others getting hurt.
6
The idea of shutting down comments is ridiculous. It's also ironic that the discussion of such allowed comments here knowing people were going to leave comments sympathising with the killer and or lack of empathy with the victim. Now is the very time to discuss the issue for US citizens, the killing should start discussions. The killer did a revolutionary act which many people approve of. Shutting down discussion is like not expecting such an act to occur occasionally. The act and the reactions are a symptom of failed US policy that watches people die rather than saving them. So better to try and fix the disease of corporate greed and compliance by both your political parties protecting the status quo. Both your major political parties actually subsidise pharmaceuticals. Nowhere else in the world does this. It's insanity. But hey let's shut down conversations about the matter, like that's going to work. It's as stupid as Trump's tax cuts for corporations mostly owned by the rich and hiking up taxes on those with low and middle incomes through tariffs. People voted for this insanity and the majority of politicians of both parties support a for profit insurance industry to increase healthcare costs. Insanity yet again. Sorry to sane Americans, you are actually in the minority.
6
I wouldn't agree with that but Canada could get a free trade agreement with China. Australia has one.
6
None of it makes sense.
6
A military coup de'ta isn't the answer.
5
Quarter of a Trillion would just mean US government debt increasing 1.75 Trillion per year, wouldn't actually help anything. Raise the corporate tax rate to 30% makes more sense because billionaires primarily pay tax this way. Also cut spending on healthcare and raise coverage by paying market rates for medicines. Cut spending spending on the military by a few hundred billion.
5
Which flu, it could be bird flu by then passing human to human.
5
Actually the best way is functional well regulated as free as possible market . The exact opposite of Trump's protectionism, non functional markets , tariffs and selective industry subsidies.
5
Only half way through this clip but it's obvious they are nuts and love to claim to be victims. The wildest comment so far is that Trump will stop division unlike other Republicans and Democrats. That sort of made laugh.
5
Historically allies didn't exist countries or groups would continually go around trying to conquer each other to create an empire. That behaviour sort of ended after WWII with only a few exceptions.
5
The cost of steel roofing just went up. Australia's ex prime minister explained how it's cheaper for California to import from Australia than from the Midwest due to transport costs. Now there's a 25% tariff on these products, so maybe builders will buy American at a higher cost and most likely with delays as the US producers would need to ramp up production.
4
It's worse than that. Misinformation can be used to incite violence etc.
4
Wouldn't really consider them media. While they are entertaining, they are activist channels not media.
4
Hello scammer
4
I hope whoever our next government is tries to develop closer military ties to South Korea , Japan and Philippines. Those countries are now at threat from China and so is Australia to an extent.
4
He isn't, he wants to be one though.
4
Rather than getting defamed and fired. That's the usual MO of Trump and his loyalists.
3
You just got your account 3 hours ago. I guess you were born yesterday as your comment indicates.
3
@xMaGuSx888 I think based on reporting your point is significant, seems any employees working on enforcing laws again Elon's businesses have for some reason lost their job just like anyone in the FBI who worked on J6 cases are no longer required.
3
I think you mean 1,000,000
3
@jerrymartin3965 Do you pay into your government pension scheme? The reason I ask is because your Social Security payout needs to be cut when you reach that age. It's currently operating as a pretend self funding thing when it's actually a government run Ponzi scheme that will run out of money in 2035 if nothing is changed according to their own actuaries. I hope you support cutting your own future income to be consistent assuming you are covered by the scheme. I have little knowledge of that scheme because the US is the only country to run a social welfare program like that.
3
@audreywellham2413 Matt is a lawyer so qualified for the position of AG. Pete has a Masters of Public Policy so he is certainly qualified as an administrator. The US is the only democracy in the world where for some unknown reason they have historically chosen ex generals for the job. Probably goes back to the civil war or even war of independence. It's in no way a legal requirement, it's only a tradition.
3
Democracies often have kings. It's the role of the king or president that matters. I am Australian and our king plays no role in government functions and our prime minister isn't an absolute ruler and can be removed in about 15 minutes when parliament is sitting. Unfortunately your president is much closer to an absolute ruler than anything Australia has, they even choose the entire unelected government as in secretaries/ministers. The US should wake up to itself and copy a better form of government where nobody has too much power as your president does , it might be better than an absolute ruling king but it's far from best practice in the world. Your elected officials are simply lobbyists of their donors, hence your high spending on heathcare with lowest, high income country absolute outcome. The concept of an unelected executive government to me is completely absurd, very absolute ruler like.
3
Running up debt like he did last time.
3
He was kicked out of his job is my understanding, put on administrative leave. It wasn't the asking questions that was the problem, it was trying to access the system as in can I have all the passwords for everything.
3
That's an overreaction. Just don't buy new ones and don't pay to use their chargers.
