A big point is being missed, a functional somewhat honest governance is required. The Democrats weren't that and nor are the Republicans. Seems people in the US will just keep changing the federal government after each failure, Trump will fail of course. The only ones that benefit from Trumps policies are the rich and corporations not affected by tariffs and retaliatory tariffs. Trump's policy is literally to tax the poor more with tariffs and the rich less with a very low corporate tax rate.

Not according to Israel who says they will occupy Gaza indefinitely.
1
Well it's not , X for example promotes the right wing speakers and at the same time suppressing left wing speakers. So clearly has nothing to do with free speech.
1
One of the Tequila brands is advertising in Australia on YouTube at the moment. They probably looking for more secure markets.
1
Nazism clearly wasn't defeated it was subdued and is now rising again in the US.
1
@Angelum_Band Really so North Korea and Hungary and the US are all anti Nazism, interesting take I must say.
1
It's up to the Trump administration to tell us but for whatever reason it's a secret.
1
Trump might have united the middle east to some extent because now everyone in the middle east except Israel hates Trump.
1
Are you sure you would want the pro rata by population of their government debt. While Canada does have government debt that's too high it's much lower than the US at about 120% of GDP.
1
It doesn't affect the economy but it can over time affect who owns stuff, as in foreigners having more investments in the US than US investments in other countries. For most countries at the moment I think the US has more overseas investments than the other way around.
1
I don't understand the motive to be in charge of a trade war and as inflation hits and people in retail and export sectors lose jobs, he'll be one of the most hated person in the US behind the president himself.
1
Trump is planning to tank the entire entire North American economy and this has become clear and US citizens are supporting this. Americans have truly lost the plot.
1
@dilbertdoe601 senate elections aren't popular vote, it's by state, a Californian has a tiny representation per capita compared to say an Alaskan.
1
How exactly do LGBTQ people cost money. I am totally confused please enlighten me.
1
Well US citizens will be paying for it and of course it's more costly to build and run than mainland US.
1
It's not possible, it would take a long time to source the goods from elsewhere. Some things It's easy like agricultural products. Some things It's very difficult like machinery especially parts for already owned machinery. In some cases it might be extremely difficult to integrate new machinery into an existing factory or whatever and use a different brand.
1
Cryptocurruncy is literally a bit of data. With today's average smartphone we could assign everyone on the planet some data and we can all be millionaires.
1
Disagree with the headline, nothing shocks the world any more about Trump. He has threatened to annex many other places to create a massive US Empire. Isolationism and imperialism aren't mutually exclusive. It's not like Japan and Germany were ever trying to make friends in other countries around 80 years ago. Stop saying you not sure what he means, Trump means what he says, a president for life that wants to expand US territory by any means possible. Will he achieve it probably not but his intentions are very clear.
1
@Mike_Honcho_8653 The congress is owned by the billionaires. They're literally paid for.
1
This is actually quite scary that a lacky will be in charge of the Fed in 2 years time.
1
That's ok if you bad at maths, at least you probably still on board with the tariffs.
1
I reckon Elon has his eyes on NOAA. Basically privatise it to himself at little cost. Then he will get the costs down a little bit and the public will love him not realising he paid nothing for it and that costs to the government will go up more quickly than inflation, so after a few years it will be more costly than a properly run government service. Americans are suckers especially when it comes to pharmaceuticals.
1
If at his sentencing he gets a little prison time it will create a constitutional crisis. While it's not likely it is possible.
1
Yeah you're probably right, however 99% of the time it's an irrational fear.
1
Trump is the closest to a Marxist with his trade and industry policies. So the Marxists are happy they got their candidate more aligned with their beliefs.
1
Which basically means only use what are called legacy news media because all other sources are useless and full of lies. Even the biased legacy media channels like MSNBC and Fox mislead viewers by eliminating critical information in their reporting.
1
Well could do a Weekend at Bernie's style administration, most MAGA adherents wouldn't notice.
1
The savings are insignificant so far and certain costs are going to rise. Have to wait and see what he does , last time Trump ran up debt at a crazy rate and I expect he will again especially if he gets the corporate tax rate down to 15%.
1
The US is very elitist. Other than the Attorney General position which should be run by a lawyer every other position only requires someone to be literate in English. You might not like Trump's picks but they are all qualified as in can read English. It's not like the Defence Secretary leads troops into a battle or does some strategic work behind the scenes, they just read reports that's literally all they do and in the case of Defence Secretary they have no power to do anything because congress funds stuff and the President makes all final decisions.
1
I think the issue is both Americans want to be known as honourable and selfish reasons. America is now seen as a dishonourable country on trade agreements and AID. Not sure if it's a net benefit for other democracies but it is a net benefit for non democracies. As an Aussie it will likely mean buying less Chinese Tesla vehicles and more BYD Chinese vehicles and so be it. Of course it's more than that but that's front and centre.
1
To be fair there was a lot of hope that Russia would become a democracy, however it became a far right dictatorship as did China. It is interesting to see how China transitioned from far left to far right seamlessly.
1
By definition it's close as 43 states already decided, only 7 in play.
1
@pavithranraju8017 enlighten me what crimes Fauci and Cheney committed. Yeah we all know Hunter Biden committed crimes including Hunter Biden himself, so in relation to Hunter Biden no he doesn't believe he is innocent.
1
Trump is a socialist. So I don't understand your contradictory comment. Taxing all imported goods is socialism and it's Trump's policy.
1
@dorianshadesofgray2981 no indication that any Jewish person involved.
1
Actually they do, a significant amount of US government bonds are owned by foreigners.
1
First of all it's impossible to achieve, if however by a miracle it was achieved it would likely cause the opposite because the consumer base has just reduced by 5% or so. Fruit and vegetables might go up a little bit due to labor shortages but everything else will go down in price and you will have deflation which is scarier than moderate inflation. A caveat though the public debt could get out of control with a reduced gdp causing the dollar to weaken causing inflation.
1
Typically swamps are breeding grounds for many fish species, drain the swamp you have less fish. Not a sensible environmental approach.
1
@Duude125 That would make all Australians silly then. Australia has a robust free trade agreement with China. So Australians can buy cheap electric vehicles from China or the expensive Tesla also from China. I hope people are choosing the Chinese brands more often and Tesla's less often. Have to remember Trump and his buddy Musk have threatened the entire world with a trade war.
1
@swampsprite9 No they don't otherwise they would have at least done a protest vote in the case of non voters who must hate Harris too.
1
@vaffankoolo the non voters were happy with either candidate otherwise they would have done a protest vote.

Interesting comments from Americans. Seems they/you don't approve of letting 10s of thousands dying because of executives legally denying care. The ACA is clearly useless but better than what the Republicans have on offer which is we openly support the status quo because it's not communist. They are correct so far as it not being socialist this is far right fascism. In every high income country except the US we have socialist healthcare in some form. We also all have a higher life expectancy than the US.
1
Interesting nobody in this comments section care about government waste. This is going to be far more expensive than keeping people in the mainland of US. Seems different rules apply to authoritarian actions.
1
It's not possible without cutting welfare and military budgets. Employees are only $350 billion or so. Even if you cut every single one of them it would only change from a really massive government deficit to a massive government deficit.
1
@TonyMasterson-b3z It's not quite that bad, no need to exaggerate an already bad situation. The last fiscal year deficit ending 30 September was around $1.8 Trillion . This is still an enormous amount of money, there's no real way of getting out of that without higher corporate taxation and effectively cutting handouts by increasing them at a slower rate than inflation. It's unlikely either political party in the US is willing to take those steps so the debt will continue to rise as a proportion of GDP until it causes a serious problem. The timeline of things going really bad is unpredictable because the USD as the major reserve currency of the world protects the US from what happens to most other countries if they reach your situation. Japan interestingly can survive with really high government debt. I don't know how they get away with it.
1
You better go tell the billionaires that, they getting richer by the day.
1
@censorshipisreal3153 yep, wealth distribution is the problem, not the economy.
1
It's a scam of course but Trump has a record of permitting super sized handouts during covid 19. What Trump could do with permission of congress is handout checks being given out with imaginary savings. He can say anything on Fox and won't be questioned.
1
@questioneverything349 they are your federal police. They are the only ones to investigate federal crimes not covered by jurisdictions ICE or ATF. So no FBI means no federal crimes any more.

Hello scammer
