  2. I can see you put some effort into that and have seen it elsewhere, needs to be shortened though otherwise very few read it. It's not about health or freedom, it is as you correctly point out something else. BLM is immune and Trump rallies are immune just to name 2. There are currently 400,000 Americans in prison for violating health orders ( drug offences) yet they have not hurt another directly otherwise they would be in prison for the other offence because a violent offence would normally be considered more serious. Compare the responses on the 2 health matters.

  3.  @darlacink7956  in the "hardest hit" countries actually covid 19 deaths don't add up to the number of excess deaths recorded so not sure why you think the numbers are inflated actually the numbers are worse because lockdown kills best to have as few of them and as short as possible meaning virus elimination lockdown not just hospital isn't full let's open up.

Well as I saw a clip with Nancy Pelosi some time ago and Trump was demanding a $300,000,000,000 part of the funds to not be assigned to certain covid 19 response measures giving Donald Trump executive powers to spend it as he wished a bit like the allocation of funds to build the wall. Should the Democrats have agreed to this slush fund in your opinion? Maybe he could have finished the wall calling it a quarantine measure to keep the infected Mexicans and other latin Americans from crossing the border.

  8. Of course, if you're gonna release a bioweapon you need to vaccinate your entire population with a vaccine near 100% effective first. China's vaccines unfortunately are a bit lower standard than the MRNA vaccines which themselves only come in at about 90% effective preventing deaths, maybe a bit higher after 3rd shot.

  12.  @ebonynyle1824  Personally I prefer if it's about wealth , low or middle or high income country. I just had quick look at your GDP per capita and would say you are a middle income country. I think most middle income countries have universal healthcare. The US is unusual being the only high income country without a universal healthcare system. I am in Australia so a long way away from you guys, hope all is as well as it can be.

  15.  @brianmanning9271  surprisingly enough outside of the 4 largest US states Australia is much more densely populated, search urbanisation rates by country, you are correct the US stayed completely open as far as the virus is concerned , in fact better than completely open by putting restrictions in high infection areas encouraging people to travel to low infection areas. If I was to imagine a biological war I would be thinking of how to make the biological agent spread but in the US but not only the US the government would do it for me.

The stated goal is absolute and is technically the policy of both parties at the moment. Well done on a homicide rate 6.5 times the average rate of other high income countries.

  17. Yes reading through the comments plus the news clip doesn't tell us anything at all. Maybe 1 out of 100 have a sneezing episode for 2 minutes after taking the vaccine and then they are fine. "Allergic reaction" is in effect completely subjective and must have definite protocols to determine what matters or doesn't matter.

  18. In one of his press statements he said " people are starting to get violent" and he was talking about PA. To these persons that might have been the signal in their minds to not stand by anymore. Trump of course uses words that he can always claim innocence " I didn't tell them to do that" while knowing full well how some react like the El Paso shooter " stopping the invasion" same terminology as Trump and some Fox pundits. So it's not like he doesn't know.

More likely these days they say" is this Australia " , I have seen the claim multiple times that people don't have to wear masks in the US because the population has guns and the government can't make them do anything. Strangely enough when hospitals overflow even Republican governor's make people do things.

  22. All countries have racist people in them and where there's less diversity it will tend to be at a higher rate. This is normal and in normal circumstances it's not too bad, these students living in cities were doing fine, the war is the problem and yes they got put at the back of the queue to some extent which is also normal. I am white Australian and before covid 19 travel to Thailand quite a lot, I know it's racist there even between their own ethnic groups, however it's reduced significantly over the last 15 years. Better advice is just be aware and if you are going to a potentially dangerous place , know the risks and don't expect someone else to rescue you. Although I've never been there places like Chicago or New Orleans and about another dozen inner cities in the US are extremely dangerous places, doesn't matter what color you are and that's during peace time.

  24. In most US states they as useful as that bloke on the factory floor that is told to sweep the floor and look busy when machine breaks down. Just give the appearance that something is being done if the big boss comes past. The big boss is the public and the elected officials are the supervisor telling the worker ( contact tracer ) to look busy so if the public looks they see some work being done. Next election no doubt they will proclaim how they did an excellent job , maintained freedoms and kept the death rate down ( even if highest in the world many Americans of both political persuasions believe Trump that all other countries on the planet are lying). Until the US citizenry comes to terms with it's great leap forward moment not much can change just more rhetoric claiming that the public don't need to do anything even coming from Biden saying just wear a mask which only slows a little not stop anything. Vaccines are your only hope it seems until a mutation occurs making it an annual thing which isn't unlikely.

You haven't watched any US news for a year it would seem, killing people in the name of Freedom with covid 19 was ok in fact endorsed by your president noting they were really old or really sick, BLM/Antifa mobs killed people and of course right wing extremists killed people , the el paso shooting using the president's terminology comes to mind ( ok a bit longer than a year for that one but particularly memorable I would suggest). So no in the US this is anything but odd , it's actually normal, you have some work to do.

When 1 state gets high cases and puts restrictions it's recommended ( by default of doing nothing about it) you go to a state with low transmission rates and no restrictions, the borders are all open and don't worry about voluntary quarantine, it's up to you, we want you to be free.

  32. The UK is now thinking about hotel quarantine 10 months after the Western Pacific, forget Canada they haven't done so well although some provinces have. If the UK vaccine strategy works then elimination is considered you can get to a bit more normal but no overseas holidays for a while until other countries virus free.

  35. How would you split the military and in particular nuclear weapons? I am not so sure as a citizen from a nuclear weapons free country that we would be too happy with another nuclear power.
