I'm not sure I'd rate this that high on the severity scale, its absolutely a milestone in aircraft safety and rightly deserves its place on the legacy scale, but air travel at the time wasn't nearly safe enough to make this that much of an outlier. there were accidents from other manufacturers at the time with as much loss of life, its just the comet was being pushed out so rapidly and was such a prestige project

  34. well, the problem was eugenics put the cart before the horse. we know today with our genetic tools and massive computational and statistical capabilities, that there really isn't this hypethetical superman. Human biology could be improved slightly by removing certain risk factors for diseases but there's not really much we can do to make people smarter, stronger, and overall healthier purely by selective breeding or genetic engineering.

Much of the differences in height and build comes from nutrition instead of genetics, as evidences by rising average heights in developing countries and plateaued heights in developed ones, and skin color really is about the most superficial genetic difference that people get hung up over. A black person has the same internal organs as an asian, and the same internal organs as a white person. its just a few genes changing the color of pigment the skin produces.

Like they still have the dyno and testing equipment there but since no car made before obdi needs to be emission checked anymore they decided its still not worth actually testing cars
