these things are interesting since they're like some mishmash of desktop and mobile parts
1
the only problem with those meters is the stencils dry up and need to be replaced every few months
1
seems like they should have just pulled an AMD and said 'Raytracing Coming Soon' seems to have worked out for AMD by putting the cards out first, and raytracing when its right, after all Arc isn't supposed to be high end
1
I bought a steam deck of of a friend who lost their job and couldn't pay for their reservation, man I can't believe how quickly its become my go to platform. its not perfect, it doesn't work nearly as slick as a modern android device, but man its just good hardware. Wish netflix would release a standalone launcher for steam so you could utilize the amazing screen and speakers
1
I really wanna see a crypto farm with one of these randomly stuck in it
1
You could say with this chip, intel is being very cocky
1
Why would they introduce it for the 1660 super when the CMP cards are from a glance, 1660 supers redressed
1
thermaltake's level 20 nameing is as atrocious as their design. at least the H branded ones are sort of OK
1
this could be interesting in a mini itx config since you could build your system ontop of the board and have a big cpu cooler on the bottom. itd need a specific case though
1
you should test the BeQuiet Dark Rock 4 pro, its a chunky heat sink
1
seems like it should have been a microitx mobo but that might not be so common in china
1
3x quieter is silly when noise is a logarithmic scale, each step is 10x higher than the previous, so with just 3x quieter its basically the same. Of course they probably didn't mean literally only 3x quieter. the thermals look really interesting this time though
1
tbf, if you're buying a presumably > 1200$ card, why would you go cheap on the psu?
1
yey more intel random number chips to get confused abour
1
cool somebody mentions fold at home for loading your system
1
12 fans, this thing is almost laughably a cheap way to buy a lot of fans in a sheet steel package, except those fans are also terrible
1
so this is purely an issue with using NZXT's parts, so you could just use your own pcie riser + psu, even though you're paying for the included ones?
1
maybe the 2nd one will be better than the 1st
1
Only Febuary and you've found a strong contender for the 2021 'Bullshit Manufacturers Say' award
1
ah how the world changed in 2 months. Doubt half these got shipped on time
1
Nvidia to partners: WE DEMAND YOU SELL LHR Nividia Also: Our cards won't have lhr
1
I'm not sure where this chipset sits as b550 isn't really that expensive and 450, 470 boards are sitting on the discount shelf at about as low as you'll find for a motherboard that isn't complete trash. Unless they're planning something that can retail for like 50$ which i don't think they can, where does this sit
1
for fooks sake, a new crypto thats gonna nuke harddrive supply
1
When you're out performed by the Cute Pet PC case...
1
700$ for a 580! I have one laying around very little use....
1
interesting. I've got basically that 2060ko+r53600 build and while I had a 550 psu, I felt that a 650 was safer for headroom (also couldn't get a 600 watt psu), especially if I upgraded my gpu down the road, and i'm probably using some of that headroom when I do fold@home
1
infinity cash, or what you need to buy an RTX3090
1
these chinese mining psu's are sketchy AF, not entirely sure why nobody has stepped up to make a solid PSU with proper spec'd cables but that's probably because people are using other sketchy devices
1
AND THEY"RE SOLD OUT for some reason...
1
seems like the perfect thing for one of Linus's hacked together PCs
1
This Intel announcement sponsored hy AMD, remember the AMD 4800U laptop mobile processor!
1
I have to give china props for doing PCs in form factors beyond a metal box
1
Is Liquid Metal really any better than indium solder though?
1
"Thanks Steve." -Intel
1
@entropy7571 they probably can't do that as 1) their previous cards couldn't and 2) zen 3 is not zen 2/1 and has a lot of improvements and redesigns
1
I gota 770 for sale, 600$, will mine bitcoin, I swear! the crazy year its been that cards and cpus from years ago are now best sellers on amazon/newegg
1
id think offices would just pay somebody to furnish their offices so the preassembled boxes doesn't even make that much sense since a company is gonna put them together in bulk
1
Ah asia, where vats full of boiling acid are just a few steps off the street. Its actually suprising what can be anodized.
1
I don't know how many times I've been standing in microcenter and overheard some guy wanting to buy an RTX 2080 and maxed out processor for fortnight.... buy the dang kid an anthlon on a itx board and call it a day
1
ok but can the a100 mine bitcoin and will it have a hashrate limiter
1
24 gbs of memory is insane for a video card, most people don't even have that much system memory
1
I'm shocked its not the Intel Igpud 2011987K on an HPG, DLII substrate and just random words out of D&D, how will anyone know what they're buying
1
and here my brother thought i was nuts for buying the dune pro, this takes it to another level beyond that
1
didn't find them in the woods but my brother found about a dozen of these in a closet in a school he's working in. been cleaning them up, these computers were amazing in some ways, horrible in other ways
