  14.  @abandonedfragmentofhope5415  yes in the 90s Britain worked with the final nations of the empire to set them up for independence, some flourished and some not so much. The last nations were really Hong Kong and Macau who didn't really want "independence" at all as they were taken over by China. The large scale colonisation and control of many nations was done a long time before I was born in 1980. By my generation, it was at its end and the last countries gained independence. No it's not "that long ago" but equally it wasn't my generation funding the whole system and I have no part in it. Colonialism didn't need to justified. A powerful nation went around taking over other nations because thats what everyone did in the 1800s. It benefited very few actual brits, the same families lived in poverty before, during and after the British empire. Some got very wealthy but most didn't not.

Also, when large parts of the medical establishment are well funded by companies who sell medicines and indeed vaccines are probably not purely following science. The opioid pandemic is a clear example that you again fully endorse?

  38.  @ForTheSentient  there are many ways to treat many illnesses, surgery is one but often not the only one. Medical advice changes regularly as you know, something as minor as cpr recommendations alter. As a consenting adult, yes, I can take medical advice and it's in my gift to chose what suits me (assuming I am conscious and sufficiently compos mentis). I may for example decide not to go through the horrors of chemo and rather let nature take its course. I may reject a vaccine and rely on my own immune system for some conditions. So yes, as an informed adult, I can make my own decisions. And again, your views on GD as a mental illness and that advice changing?
