Same for every Toyota vs Lexus
7
Cannot wait for a Sonata review. Love chats are where you shine sir
7
The hatchbacks c pillar blond spot is awful. They literally shrunk all the windows. Then they went the cheap route and gave it a torsion beam rear suspension. Mazda going mainstream and thus less for driver's. Sad. If the new Veloster, Civic, and Corolla have IRS, Mazda is clearly cutting corners on what was a premium compact car.
7
I have zero attraction to this video game car. Way too many driving electronics . Speed is not everything. I find the Lexus GS F far more appealing. CTS V is a very close second. All about driving feel and engine sound
7
Edward P yout buying a car based on center console size? God there is no hope for cars with these idiot buyers
7
Weirdly I would choose the new 2017 LaCrosse which I never thought I would say. Just a better interior in the Buick
6
Seriously love how knowledgeable Alex is on all type of vehicles. I love learning from him
6
doesn't the mustang have sequential turn tail lights or is the Lexus doing something different to not qualify for US standards?
6
palebeachbum I disagree. I love the Genesis current design language
6
Stop supporting that joke of an outfit
6
Toyota is the largest automotive manufacturer in the world, they don't need BMW to build a Supra. They have more than enough money to make a sports car. They just don't care and don't want to. See the GR Yaris for when Toyota actually wants to try. You cant even roll sown a window when drivin this because of the wind buffeting issue. That's why I don't car about this "Supra" which is outdone by a better 2 series where actual engineering went into it.
6
Yet one feels fun to drive and RWD like while the other plows like a fwd truck. I'll let you figure out which is which
6
Alex sleeps on the G70/ Genesis brand and its a bit frustrating. Such an underrated car.
6
Who ever asked form the Buick Regal to be included needs to get there head checked. GM fan boys clearly. FWD pos
6
As Alex said, you really need to get this in the manual. Love this car. So impressed with its lightweight and attention to detail. This is the closest thing to a modern day Honda S2000. Love the newly revised 2L engine. My pick for this category, and I spoke with my money, was a 370Z Sport trim.
6
Why not just get an Avalon then and save money while getting a working tech interface?
6
Very well done Alex. I particularly loved the 0/10 front trunk score. Fully agree about one pedal driving. I really dislike the touch sensitive everything inside the cabin and wish for knobs and normal buttons.
6
@thedriver5462 if a Kona can offer AWD and IRS, Mazda has no excuse. Also I the Type R absolutely has IRS. Only cost cutting cars have torsion beam. Hell the new Corolla and Veloster have IRS now
6
I much prefer the prior gen to this. Not attractive or special in any way like the first gen CLS. Reminds me too much of the A Class which isn't a compliment. Shame
6
Love this vehicle except for its coffin like visibility. Hard pass as visibility is a priority to me. Fatal flaw in my opinion. Amazing engineering brought down by GM design
6
Wish they had the option of the 6.4L Hemi on the 1500 and the ability to option a lower ride height so you can get in the bed easier and not need a ladder. This class has annoyingly lifted high ride heights. It would help loading, fuel economy, and handling.
6
What's the point of a car with huge proportions but terrible (rear) headroom? No wonder people buy SUVs. Also frustrating you have to pay an additional $3k (LX to EX) for Android Auto option on the Accord. Expensive
6
Definitely not the traditional fun Mazda For the price, I'd go RWD all day. If FWD is a requirement, 2L turbo Accord or Camry V6. Also Mazda dealerships are legit the worst
6
Alex really pushing those automatic transmissions hard.....
6
The Volvo XC60 is the only fwd based vehicle in this line up correct? Maybe why it has more room inside? I would actually think Alfa is more reliable than that ticking time bomb twin charge engine in the Volvo
6
Perfect size car. Just wish the Veloster turbo came with a LSD like the Civic SI. I don't want to pay $30k for a LSD on the N. Really wish Hyundai wouldn't have skimped on the Turbo model. Alot of cheap parts on here. Also heard alot of people have has bad rattles on new vehicles. Seems like a step backwards for Hyundai
6
Nope. CX5. Toyota is good for those that blindly buy anything Toyota
6
$50k plus for Chevy craptastic plastic everywhere, I'll pass. $2.9k for AWD is insulting
6
I miss the days when Buicks were actually built in North America. Enclave is it for locally built
6
I do love how Hyundai made a small car look so great. I never think of this as an eco box like the Ford fiesta which has the most metal I've seen on the rear fender to hatch ratio creating the illusions of a car on stilts. The Fiesta looks like an eco box and I would not buy, where as the VT has proper styling and proportions. Looks great
6
I think I would still go Genesis GV80 for this segment but would be interested in a comparison. Shame they didn't do a Type S for the RDX first. Not sure why they won't give specifications yet.
6
Very impressive vehicle. Love that its RWD based and a V8. Looks amazing inside as well. Definelty would be my choice
6
The warranty on the Santa Cruz would easily have me getting it over the Ford Maverick. Also Ford never does a good job on first year models as far as quality goes. I think you might be overestimating the hybrid in the Maverick as most truck/SUV buyers want awd and not fwd. I could be wrong but especially up here in the snow belt states, awd is a must on most shoppers list. I will say the all black/dark grey interior on the Santa Cruz is disappointing and a bit dreary. Makes it look cheap when it is in fact a nice quality interior. Maybe in an update Hyundai can add some more color to it
6
I don't care what Lexus does anymore. Genesis has stolen me as a customer.
6
RCBR or you could just dri e the vehicle?.........
6
I love the WRX. Great driving and a manual transmission fun. The rev hang is annoying but it works. My only complaint is the price creep. I also like that the interior has all the tech I would every want and its easy to use. No spying video recorder on your face judging you and sending your info to your insurance company like new Subaru vehicles. I am not looking forward to this car getting update
6
Tech Defender would love a rwd, manual wagon.
5
Alex I hate that throughout the video you mention the Mazda 3 hatch as competition but then at the end give it no comparison. Why?
5
DimachkaS it's the glasses with rosey cheeks. Gets me everytime
5
Really wish Volvo offered a 6 cylinder option as I am still not convinced at all that these dual charged engines will make it past 70K miles.
5
IceColdKilax agree. Way too much money for a fwd based driver
5
Its FCA so this'll have 20 recalls and parts failing in 6 months. Corner cutting is the FCA moto.Honda Odessey for me. I'll take reliability any day over this.
5
@Alex On Autos so I am a bit confused. The rear only has 87 hp but can send 200hp to the rear with no mechanical connection to the engine? If correct, how? Thank you
5
Typical Alex, picks the two outliers of each segment to compare. The only fwd based "luxury" car in the Volvo and the only RWD based mainstream suv.
5
This isn't their first effort and its quite horrible
5
Clearly fanboys make excuses for anything
5
Just get the CX 5 Turbo Carbon for the $31k or a CX5 GT Reserve for $35k. You get IRS, more cargo room, and no huge ugly black plastic body cladding. Cannot wait for Mazda to do a touch screen and an 8 speed automatic with proper gearing
5
Tully3674 BMW has horrible reliability so I would have the same reservations there as well
5
I dislike the front. They seemed to stretch it too far fender to fender. For the price its hard to hate on this car. It's a bland choice but competent
5
Very impressive, just hate the CVT only option. Still can't believe that a Sentra this nice has IRS yet the Mazda 3 couldn't
