When are you reviewing the Genesis GV70? The GV80 is the segment leader in my mind. Not this Edge
5
G70. Proper rear wheel drive luxury. Not fwd based Geeky platform like a Volvo. G70 also has one of the easiest user interfaces. Volvo is the opposite. Warranty on G70 kills the unreliable Volvos minimal offering. Volvo only does 4 cylinder engines that have horrible NVH
5
The restyling tweak really do improve the looks. This is my pick of the class especially if you like driving. What's crazy is that with some decent 245 summer tires the performance numbers are even better
5
Love the green color and wheels. I would prefer the coupe format for the 8 Series though or just get the M5 Comp which has headroom. I would prefer the M8 brakes and paddle shifters over the Alpina version but like that it has a softer suspension
5
Alex I hope your finger gets better!
5
Cadillac CT4/CT5 V transmission/transmission tuning is dreadful. I couldn't recommend either. Base model I would pick for myself would be a leased Giulia or G70 with the 3.3TT if you can hangle it down in price to low $40k range
5
These "rugged" body plastic cladded vehicles are so played out. Only posers would buy them. Which means everyone. Great car for the physically challenged baby boomers. The new Scion
5
China special. Made in China, for China. There supposed most technology advanced vehicle in the plug in it, doesnt even have the ability of super cruise like the rest of the CT6 lineup. Literally all the competition is better. Maybe another coffee shop in New York will help them?
5
The turbo version should have gotten IRS like how Hyundai do it for the the Elantra Hybrid and N-Line. Make the screen a touch screen, throw in an eight speed auto gearbox, get rid of all the cheap shiny black plastic inside, and the Mazda 3 would actually be "Premium".
5
I dont get it? Why is this so uncompetitive. Rather have the Honda E and it's rwd over this stale and ugly Mini
5
Toyota parlayed this awful vehicle as a Lexus UX which is just furthuer adding insult to injury. Shame
5
Wow the Nexo interior is so Mich nicer than the Toyota and all that piano black plastic. Wasn't expecting that
5
Hate the turn signals down low in the front bumper. Can't see them. How is that legal? All the ugly plastic fender cladding really takes away from this design. Makes it look cheap
5
@deerock8870 simply wrong. You have infinite adjustments to a CVT and just 8 gears in a modern transmission with two to tree overdrive. Drive a ZF 8 speed and learn a little.
5
bassandtrebleclef not the same platforms. No relation between the two. The Touareg is the VW equivalent
5
They are much nicer than Acura which is still priced 10k higher for an inferior product. The CX5 interior is nicer than the RDX and that's really there only competitive product.
5
Alex loves himself some Volvo
5
Who buys these pos JLR products? They literally can't work for longer than a year tops. Sister had to have one and was in the shop every other week for something malfunctioning. She sold it 7 months later. This was a 2018. He'll the loaner Evoque they have her broke down twice. Yikes.
5
Mark, great job at supporting the killing off of cars. Thank you for doing your part towards this horrible trend
5
Great job on this. Its hard to deny the G70 based on how good it's value proposition is with the 3.3TT. Genesis really dropped the ball with that awful 2.0T engine and not swapping in the 2.5T engine like the Stinger and GV70. I would take a RWD 3.3TT over all the competition when factoring in price/performance. Agree about the GV70 being a superior vehicle to the G70
5
Guilia is amazing but the reliability concern is why i passed. Even leasing seemed risky due to the time it takes to get parts from Italy. Heard some really bad nightmare experiences already. Hopefully they fix that.
5
Fwd and luxury is an oxymoron. No such thing. Cant believe Lexus still hasn't fixed its worst in class infotainment interface. I guess only old people buy these so it really doesn't matter but I would never consider an ES anything more than an Avalon
5
Really expensive and unimpressive. Really whoring out the ST name on this prior year Sport trim. Interior is quite dated looking and poor as well. Competition does it much better. Side note, I would take a Focus ST or Fiesta ST over this all day. Such a mistake Ford made.
5
David Young I agree. The manual makes the golf r engaging. Something it lacks greatly with the dct.
5
Alex outstanding job on this. I know you love yourself some SHAWD so I wasn't sure how this review would go but you did an excellent job capturing the pros and cons of the fwd based platform. I think someone in snowy territory would really benefit from the TLX with SHAWD. I personally want rwd dynamics in my sports sedan and would go with the upcoming G70 refresh because of that and it has a touchscreen. Really like that tidbit that they moved the turbo to the front of the engine for sound reasons. Wish Acura would not make the entire dash focus on a mode button though.
5
Ford Ecowhatever is just trash. Slower and less efficient than the Kona. Swinging rear tailgate just shows how lazy Fprd was to not even change it.
5
Needs a mechanical LSD to compete with the GTI/GLI and the Civic SI. The mechanics have been the same for generations/refreshes. At $27k the price has gone up.while the interior keps.getting discontented for the Sport/N Line trims
5
The 60-0 MPH braking score should just say "eventually". The economy score is incredibly generous
5
Im starting to realize that if I ever have to drive a modern automatic vehicle, I would not be able to figure out how to get it into reverse.
5
@MrBangijal but why pay so much more up front when there is a prius or Rav4 Hybrid that offer more utility and efficiency ? Not saying you are wrong but I just have a hard time seeing the logic of these buyers
5
Cant wait to see these rolling coal and clogging up the left lane of the expressway
5
So limited its not even worth the price. Hope your area is mapped
5
Alex should be happy, an automatic Mustang. Finally a Mustang he can actually drive. I'm sure he will still be upset there is no hybrid
5
Neat. A still dangerously slow CUV that is now even more expensive and has less cargo. Pass. Does the average commute of only 14 miles include those that work from home?
5
James Wisrik you meant "you're"
4
Love the looks of it. Really like the style
4
if only it wasnt soo slow. My mom test drove one and after not being able to accelerate to merge, walked away. I like the refresh but the engine needs an update and not a hybrid. Colder states and batteries do not go together
4
+Alex on Autos To me that is the thing that kills the NSX to me. It doesnt have character. Dont get me wrong, I could maybe afford to buy a civic so i am not the demographic for these cars. Just wish it had more personality like the original NSX with the V Tec intro into the industry. Btw i didnt realize it was mainly rwd bias. Great informative review as always. You never dissapoint. Great work my friend
4
Reko Sri because FCA is garbage if I'm being kind.
4
Alex completely agree on your picks. I would only have the MKZ ahead of the Cadenza if they made the Black Label standard on it so It topped out at $45k. That would be a steal. As is, the Cadenza interior is far greater than the Lincoln without the black label leather for far less. Cadenza for me
4
Peichen01 was going to post thesame. So overpriced . $54k just to get leather.....Insane
4
I have only heard of issues with the tech. Things dropping connection, compatibility issues, software glitches. Hopefully Ford fixes this quickly but it seems rushed as is. The forums haven't offered a solution to these issues yet sadly.
4
To bad the infotainment system is completely unusable when in motion because the stupid mouse like tracked is terrible. Why a $23k Camry has a manual etter infotainment system than your flagship luxury brands sedan, will always baffle me. The LS is such an amazing car. It's just a letdown as it could have been perfect with a touch screen
4
Honda Pilot all day. Better AWD system and more engaging
4
Fully agree with Alex. I like old much more. Great steering feedback, great manual shift action with no rev hang, power that makes you want to go to redline and not shortshift. Also love how lightweight Hondas were. Honda peaked in the 90s and the early 2000s. That said, I like the new SI very much and greatly appreciate that it has a mechanical LSD unlike Kia/Hyundai at this price point. I wish the SI still had the K24 engine like the prior gen but you can't win them all. I think Honda did a good job here considering the price. Just not as exciting and raw as the prior gens like, honestly all modern cars.
4
I'm very curious how the GLI compares to the Civic SI for about the same money
4
Horribly cheap interior and low quality. Hard pass
4
Id still take the RWD based x40i M over this. No replacement for the real longitudinally mounted engined vehicles with 100% of power to the rear whelels all the time. Dislike that they keep making this bigger and bigger. Shiney black plastics inside look horrid. Defiantly better than the QX50 and NX
4
Realtime Reviews its not a pickup. It can't tow. Period
