Darryl A the issue to me is that there is not a powerful engine option in the Corolla. You either have to buy a barge or a gutless Corolla
2
FarhantheMovieGuy. AKA: MovieSimulator9000 the 2.5L would be the smart move but Toyota really punishes its buyers of cars other than the Camry. Shocked at how long in the tooth the Corolla has been compared to the new civic
2
Nissan Altima? You mean Nissan Sentra

Chevy fanboy corner

Great job on buying China product and spitting in the face of American workers. Enjoy your suv
2
@normt5463 norm I expected better from you than to buy China crap
2
I think this sums it up perfectly.

When a company brags about adding Android Auto on a 2021 model, you know what to expect. Toyota does the least amount of innovation/updating as there sales figures will allow them. This way they can always excuse there uncompetitive products as being more reliable than the competition. Toyota buyers don't shop for a new car, they just go to a Toyota dealership and gets whats new. The lack of shopping means they don't know about what is being offered by the competitors. I wanted to buy a Corolla, but the Apex is worse than the standard Corolla in every way. The manual helps a lot but I can't turn a blind eye to a $26k Honda Civic SI with LSD and some go. $30k for that huge shiny black plastic bezel of the Rolla interior just doesn't cut it. I also hurt myself like three times trying to get out of the seat on those sharp, intrusive dash corners. Warning to those that have limbs

J D Panic at the Disco. I dig it

Exactly!

Jeep Compass trash

Never understood the point of a fwd SUV. Just get a car for a better experience. Unless you are to out of shape and heavy to bend over to get into a car.

Jaffar Abdul Baqi sad

Ford has the worst plastics used today. Gross
2
Horrible, laggy interface, overly sensitive active safety systems and a data collecting camera recording your every movement. For only. Wouldn't touch this disaster
2
Lavonte A agree
2
Those are both fwd based and ancient. Not saying much
2
Yes. Acura is not great
2
So are 7 series ...
2
I'm guessing you haven't driven an 86
2
If this is the future, I want no part of it. Ridiculously expensive
2
Norm T we get it, you work for GM.
2
Is it a rule you have to review the most boring SUVs every week? This thing is terrible
2
Honestly I'd just go with the M5 Comp for a couple grand more than the as tested price here nd get more room and way better performance. I don't car for the 8 series' "Godzilla stepped on my car" styling.. That said, I really enjoyed this review. I may not agree with your conclusion, but appreciated the thorough break down of the car. Well done.
2
What's said about the black label, is Genesis offers it for free. Black Label needs to be standard on top trims or an option on lower trims. Besides price, this is an amazing well done Ford
2
It's a shame that when you turn traction control off, it still intervenes and cuts power untill you straighten the wheels. Not a fan. Typical VW and there undeafetable electronics. Did we learn nothing from Dieselgate, VW?
2
Great review and nailed it by saying how bland it is. Cant back up its looks. I'll take a Civic Sport, Civic SI, or Elantra Sport over this turd all day. At $25k. Dated already and it just came out. Old people love being told by Toyota what is hip and this will be no exception. See Scion`s and its death.
2
That is a busy design for sure. Reminds me a bit of the CR-V exterior wise. Will have to wait to see it in person. Interior I strongly dislike with the touch sensitive controls like what VW is doing. Engines really haven't improved from last generation. Hybrid looks to be the one to get
2
Michael Perkins was just going to say, the horrible acceleration for merging and drum brakes mean those systems will always be beeping at you.
2
Great points Cliff. I know its boring but I fully agree. At worse this should have been a Lexus.
2
I like the Versa but really want it to be slower, rised higher for worst handling, less space inside, and be more expensive. Nissan can you do this? Ah, the Nissan Kicks
2
Only idiotic Hond can tell us whytheyused the much better lookingstylingon the insight that doesnt have volumeinstead of the newly released civic redesign which still looks horrible. Shame as I would never buyaninsight but would buy a Civic that was attractive.
2
So it has less power than a Mustang GT and weighs more than a Mustang GT. He'll the RC weighs as much as the four door GS F. The RC F. I want to love for its engine but everything else is such a let down. Shame. The LC500 is bliss and would be my choice
2
Great points Cliff as always. Fully agree that getting an Accord, Civic Sport Hatchback, or K5 would be the better move. Personally I think the Kona is hideous and would go to the Seltos if I had to get a cuv, but the pricing is insane. Would not pay $30k just to get the 1.6T. In its class I would go Seltos 1.6T, but personally would go sedan and get an all around better vehicle for the same price.

Fix or repair daily, yeah no thanks

Zapadna Hercegovina it's the best because you bought one...... original

the tacky chrome everything and plastics used make this car inferior to the Audi of the world. Then you add the fact that it has a 90's six speed gear box as oppose to the ZF 8 speed used by everyone else makes this a fail. The v Lincoln is also fwd which is not luxury. Audi has a longitudinal mounted engine where Lincoln is still fwd bias. I drove the and Lincoln and all I could hear was the front tires breaking traction. That's not luxury. Couple a dated gear box with an overweight chassis and this doesnt hold a candle to the Germans nimble offerings. The asking price is absurd. This car is 85% there compared to the normal luxury players. The issue is the price does not reflect this. The only thing Lincoln keeps pushing as to why this car is special is the adjustable seats.
1
very ugly. Not enough steering wheel adjustment. Just a very limited vehicle. A motorcycle is more appealing and has more storage
1
I think you took that a bit out of context

Honestly great review. have no idea about everyone elses comments. The point of the review was the es350 is the pasts Buick LaCrosse. Its for people who dont drive. Its an appliance that is more money than the other appliance, the Camry which it is based off of. And im sorry but anyone who can ollie on the skateboard while maintaining the wigs poistion on head is quite a feat. Great job my friend.
1
Then why watch and comment?
1
So this vehicle has no torque? Only horsepower
1
ks10308 what does it do 0-60? just curious because I hear some say it's fast and then this guy say it's slow
1
ks10308 good info. Thank you! Isn't the theory though that the cvt can always keep it in boost once the psi rises? Definitely get your point on take off as the CRV definitely suffers in the 1.5t with a cvt
1
renato muu no the CRV nor the Rav4 would ever be on my list. The Sportage SX seems to be the one I am after
1
renato muu Wisconsin winters are tough so awd and snow tires are a must to me.
1
JonDeeZee Read about the awd system in the SX

Great review as always. To me, I want HID headlights as an option but my main reason for not getting a FT86 comes from that drop of torque in the power band around 4k RPM. I agree the car does not need more power but rather a more linear torque band. The new miata 2.0 engine has this. I bought a 3.8 Hyundai Genesis Coupe over the BRZ at the time so this was my second choice and lost because of the power band and not being able to have a car seat in the back. Ohterwise it's an amazing driver
1
Yeah Chevy SS over this turd all day
