Way nicer and better features than any overpriced Lexus RX or Acura MDX. Really a luxury offering that shames the best from Japan

I really do love that Paul is honest in his reviews. This sounds simple but other reviewers play politics and give everything a great review. I agree with all of Paul's point. Just fantastic review! Very refreshing
13
Really well done review. Great vide. I would hve had this car in my garage already if it had a lsd like the VW GTI. Really dissapointed with Hyundai going the cheap route on this. I Wil say I am happy that Hyundai did not make this hideous like the Elantra sedan
13
Subaru BRZ with brembo brakes and a way nicer interior for very similar money. Also Toyota did their usual and made a beautiful car ugly with that catfish face
12
Thank you Paul for hitting on the poor track pad! I demoed this and hated it. Dangerous in motion. Especially with Apple Carplay. So many reviewers gloss over it.
8
Fantastic reviewer! Also thank you for the mpg conversion. Great work
7
Yay an actual car! Love this car but wished the 2.5L turbo had a manual transmission option
7
Ones not the best interiors you can buy. So impressed. Mazda marketing talks about how it's going upmarket and have "premium" offerings while Hyundai surpasses Mazda with "Premium" offerings.
7
Dated, boring, and slow. Pass on this lazy crash grab for Ford. Already have seen a bunch of women driving these. I give up on. I guess anything with a raised ride height they will buy
7
That price difference is a whole other cars worth. G70 looks better in my opinion as well. Warranty means it will last longer than the more expensive BMW. A better comparison is the G70 3.3L TT vs the BMW 330I as the G70 is still cheaper than the 330I when comparably specd. I guess I just be alone in having my child in a car seat that isn't the size of a Lay-Z-Boy
7
I'd take a Golf R over this. Better and about half the price.
6
Like the size, transmission, and infotainment system on this. Even its engine still scoots better than the NX. I would definelty take this over the glacially slow engine, 2004 infotainment system equipped, and center cup holder vanity mirror toting Lexus NX. Unashamedly the NX is a woman's car with No redeeming quality.
6
It's amazing how Honda fans think SH AWD is RWD. I wish the fanboys would calm down a bit on this new RDX. You would think this thing could fly. It's a solid offering for the fwd/transversely mounted engine based crowd. A little overhyped by the fanboys though. I've gotten to drive this and it's okay. I preferred the V6 personally from the prior gen. Great review here by Paul and fully desffribing how everything works. One of the best reviewers easily
6
Amazing review. Really appreciate you talking about the poor interface on this. The Hybrid losing the SH AWD system is an instant deal breaker. It's the one unique feature this Honda offers. Honestly this class as a whole of budget luxury 3 row vehicles are quite dated. Hard to pick a winner. The details are suppose to be what sets a luxury car appart from its mainstream counter part yet here in the MDX you have to ignore the details to like the car. That's the problem.
6
The European version of this turd is so much better. They get a 1.2L turbo petrol with AWD. HID light8ng is even avlaible. This cheap Scion is pointless in the north American market version .
6
Horribly overpriced. Just get a more useful Kia Telluride

Personally I would not pay this much for a fwd based golf. I know they tweaked it but it's fwd roots and horizontally mounted engine as oppose to longitudinal, will always show through. I would want RWD and a manual transmission. I love the engine sound and look of the RS3, but that is it. Curious to see how well this aluminum 5 cylinder block holds up compared to the cast iron block of the previous iteration. Most will love it because AWD will fix all there mistakes. Point and shoot. I recognize I'm weird though so also totally get why this is an amazing vehicle. I think Paul did a fantastic job as always going over the pros and cons
5
So happy you mentioned poor the CHR car thing is. The Crosstrek pick I disagree with strongly as it's weak engine is too much to overcome. I'd take the golf allroad or alltrack thing over it. Otherwise I love that your car picks were all affordable. I can't relate to a McLaren 720s as my car of the Year if that makes sense. Great work as always. Thank you for the hard works. Cheers

Sadly for Lexus, the tech in the Q3 is still superior to the Lexus NX
5
All I know is the US version doesn't even have IRS. Cheaply built and ugly. Would buy anything in this segment over this. Very evident of the cost cutting used due to dieselgate expenses.
5
Personally I would wait for the Aviator as this still has the Sony dash that is poor. Still can't belive how quickly Lincoln has passed up Cadillac and it's zero effort offerings. XT6 is a laughing stock. Lincoln is truly starting to impress and I can't wait for the Aviator and Corsair
5
Goco Family this would be an absolute perfect application for a diesel. The nvh though would not lend itself to luxury though. In the Expedition, absolutely

Friend of mine has the top Sport trim, 2018 and the engine mount gave way while his wife was driving her two girls to school. The engine dropped and crushed the axles. Lost control of the car and luckily just went in a ditch. This had 2,000 miles on it. Ford tech said the robot never put the bolts in the mounts and cross threaded the others. Dealer fixed it and wouldn't even give a complimentary oil change. Ford HQ sad this is A normal problem and after A month of arguing, got only a 3 month extended warranty. A $60k car. Ford junk. Horrible build quality, horrible customer service. Feel so bad for him. Also the wife is too scared to drive it now so he has to. Sit next to him at work so I heard all the phone calls to Ford.
4
This should be called the XTraverse. Honestly, for about $25k less you can get a more luxuriously feature rich Hyundai Palisade. Cadillac always does the bare minimum. Someone explain to me why a "luxury" three row suv, has carbon fibre inserts? Weight savings for when you take it out to the race track?
4
Gary G because clearly you don't get it. Itfs when you hit bumps that the lack of IRS shows its ugly face. Enjoy your pos torsion beam car
4
Way overpriced and poor build quality. My father had the 2017 SET and literally everything broke of fame loose. Also love the show donuts included here
4
Lincoln needs to follow Genesis in offering Black Label standard and not nickel and dime your early supporters. They want to be different than the Germans but they charge you for every little thing just like the Germans. Maybe not so different after all. Beautiful in fully loaded trim but not impressive in lower trims. That navy interior leather is just gorgeous and rich looking.
4
Mazda 3 hatch for me. Better handling, better interior, more space, less money, and more power.
4
Way too much money. Get a faster and more usable car in the Golf GTI that has 228hp, virtual cockpit, standard LSD, ECT. Mazda overpriced this and then raised the weight while offering the same underpowered 2.5L which is only exacerbated with AWD
4
Such a great car. Find this so much nicer inside and out than the 3 series and all its tech gimmicks/ bejeweled shifter ect. Happy Genesis nailed the driving aspects and simple to use tech. Hoping that by some miracle, they will pair a manual transmission to the 3.3L TT for the coupe version
4
Its 390 hp. Many dynos have proven Kia is rating power at the wheels so....
4
Love the styling on this so much. Easily the best application by Lexus of their family grill
3
Family Wheels well now after seeing the new LC500 may say that is the best looking Lexus but this is defintely beautiful.
3
Interesting note is that the STI hatchback hd a 40% take rate
3
Dated styling, poor interior without the virtual cockpit, and crazy high price. In my opinion the CX9 beats This but wished it had Apple carplay. I think if you are all about tech, in this segment, the Atlas is your only option.
3
besides the sh awd,the Honda Pilot is a better vehicle
3
A very smart reviewer once said there is no such thing as a sports car with a transversely mounted engine . I totally agree with that. Still a VW Golf even in the overpriced TT RS guise. Great for the older crowd that can't drive as its all wheel drive system makes you look like a hero.
3
Love the size and style of the Veloster. Just right. My only gripes with my time in the Veloster Turbo was the hard plastic door sill arm rest area and no lsd in the turbo model. Minor complaints although I don't want to hve to buy a N model just to get a factory LSD. Otherwise great little car. Love the 3 door concept. Unique and fun
3
I'd have to say any current Lamburghi Aventador looks like the batmobile.
3
Does Canada not offer an EV rebate on this likemmin the US? That helps make it a wash here with the non hybrid.
3
Really hated the throttle lag and dangerous user interface in this. Interior doesn't feel that much more luxurious than a CRV which is a problem. Still no Android Auto which they have been promising for over a year. Personally I'd wait to see what Genesis does for the GV70 especially after seeing how impressive the GV80 and G70 were
3
@kevinwright3021 I own two manuals in my garage right now so I'm doing my part. Cool story though
3
Women are allergic to the ground, I swear. "Its too low to the ground". God save us
3
Yeah this is based on the old prior gen Civic platform and engine. How do you not mention this? When the current Honda Civic SI is better than this in every category and costs less, I don't see the point of this dated platform ILX
3
Omg yes. Honestly yes. Unpess you want a V8 rumble. That is the Chragers advantage. Otherwise the G70 really is on another level
3
Love it when Paul reviews cars. Such an awesome job. Beautiful car. Just wish a manual transmission option existed in the RWD version we get here
3
I'm with you Paul on the shiney black plastic. It needs to go away. Very cheap looking. Honestly I actually think the interior and exterior of all BMWs look quite awful. Never have been impressed. The competition in my opinion do it much better. Including the engine sound
3
Fantastic review Paul! Love that you touch on the bad plastics as in the F150. Surprising given the price point of these vechiles.
3
This is one of those vehicles i really question why it exists other than those who want excess in life. Im going to date myself but i remember my parents fitting 4 Wisconsin farm kids in there Tarus wagon with two adults in as well. Why do we need these huge boats on the road? They are more like weapons given the size and blind spots. I clearly just don't get it
3
That price is insane. Id get a G70 3.3L TT over the 330i all day. Hate all the gimmicky, senseless tech in BMWs. Pass
