Ficon agree. I'm not impressed with Toyota's late coming offering. Hyundai, Honda, Subaru, and VW all offer a better hatch option
1
MAN IN BLACK the deals offered on these is quite good so maybe not so cut and clear of an answer?
1
It all makes sense now. You will be missed Paul. Excited to see what Scott comes up with for the channel.
1
I like the E63 and 911 choices. Very cool.
1
Family Wheels that's a very good point. I agree. I personally would as I have never spent more than $32k on a new car and now fiscally could never pay more than $35k. However your point is more than valid on nearly everyone else. However as you pointed out on your review, the space is not as good as a mid sze suv. Not even talking about the ones with a Third row.
1
The long overdue Corolla hatchback is overhyped in my opinion, as most Toyota's are. The Honda Civic, which has been out for years, is a better performer, driver, tech with Android Auto ,ect. If Honda could re style the civic to be attractive, it's the better choice.
1
Vehicle is so dated now. Ford interiors are among the worst in the business. So much hard plastics and chrome plastics. Just not worth the price at all. It was nice 4 years ago but not now with the current competition. Cannot think of a single reason to choose this over something like a Mazda CX5 or Kia Sportage SX, ect. To each there own though.
1
Needs an LED so badly. Same for the Accord 2L T and Camry V6. First car to offer a LSD will be a game changer. Sadly no one (buyers) cares how this segment drives /cuts power harshly. I'd save up a little more and just get a Genesis G70 personally
1
Really ugly now. Hate the exterior. Looks like a MPV now
1
For the huge price increase the S4 is not worth it. Not enough sport. Can't even get a manual opti9n like on the standard A4, the supposed non sporty level
1
Honda Accord for stick shift and Android auto. It's also about $2k less and has a better interior at every trim level
1
$28k for stick shift and no lsd or extra power is a huge letdown. I'd go prior genwhich is lighter weight, same engine, cheaper price, better styled hatch , and it had IRS. Mazda went backwards with this current gen at least to this old Mazda fan
1
Great job by both presenters. Really liked the banter between you guys. I personally would never buy a luxury car that's a four cylinder and fwd based. Closing comments nailed it. T8 still,he horrid front wheel torque steer (not luxury) and four cylinder whine. Not a solution Volvo
1
@ztekz I went to my Mazda dealer and had to inform the sales kid the Mazda 6 did in fact have a turbocharger. He told me they are all N/A. Dealer is not the solution.
1
This really should have alloy wheels standard.
1
Very under powered vehicle at all trim levels. Thunk of this with the Honda 1.5L turbo engine
1
mountainhobo is it unibody? I understood it was body on frame
1
Man Paul you do fantastic reviews! I cannot think of a way you could do it better. Appreciate that you speak about the vehicle compared to its competition as opposed to just the previous generations of Camry.
1
Paul Yuen get a civic
1
Kamaka Chang my thoughts exactly. If you want an expensive, transversely mounted engines golf, get the real McCoy in the Golf R with a manual
1
Paul just a great job on this video as always. Funny that you talk about the Honda Clarity styling comment as that was exactly why I got the Elantra Sport over the Civic SI. I have to say I'm surprised you would would purchase this vehicle given the cold weather and how fast they vehicles become obsolete with battery tech advancement. That said, I do like the Ionic quite a lot. As you pointed out, the rear irs is rare in this type of a vehicle and greatly appreciate. Please keep us posted on your decision. Thanks Paul for the great video
1
Awesomeness. Scott is a great reviewer
1
Lexus ES was/isn't exciting because its FWD (Avalon). This car is Such a large barge. I would definelty try to do everything I could to get into a rwd GS over this senior citizen. GS needed a refresh 2 years ago but it appears Lexus is canceling it now. Shame
1
Andrew K, Northern Ireland tgat is what I've heard. I'm happy you didn't buy it as I believe there are superior options out there so I think you made the right chooce. I believe there is even a manual option there so the cvt is even a mute point
1
Paul do the safety senses work in the snow? Most I've seen freak out when they do get covered with salt, ect.
1
Ugly, slow, and dated tech. Thus is the toyoa standard now adays. They are so out of touch. See scion brand failure
1
Who cares
1
Babs absolutely not best in class. Have you heard of Toyota and Honda?
1
Extremly well done review. Great info here. Do you know if the engine is hand built like all true AMG engines?
1
@FamilyWheels looks like on the "43" series of AMG cars are not hand built engines. Meaning this 53 is hand built. Should be a signature plaque somewhere on that engine cover then haha
1
Courtney Ruelland clearly you have not driven anything new lately....
1
Wow is that nose pointy on the non Sport. Really not a fan of this slow vehicle. I'd get a QX50mover this all day and get better fuel economy and performance. Paul watching you take your eyes off the road formthe infotainment really is telling. Not a great system
