  1. Great Military accomplishment. You made me laugh. 650,000 Egyptians and 2,200 Tank with Russian Anti air craft umbrella. against 432 Israeli soldiers and six tanks for 160 K'M. A really great victory, not talking about the Israeli success of crossing the Canal and stopping only 50 Miles from Cairo and after the Egyptians asked for a cease fire.

  3.  @Shmeddoo  My advice to you is to know what you are talking about and to know the real facts. It can help you in the future. What two Egyptians "victories" you are talking about?? The Egyptian and the Syrian armies were defeated and brought to their knees. Use my above advice to you. As for the saying of one of the IDF former chiefs, it t's not even worth responding. As long as the Israeli army is in Gaza and continues to destroy Hamas and continues its operations there slowly but surely. This chief commander was the worst on out of 22 others. He does not like the time it takes to defeat the Hamas. Israel is working slow in order not to hurt innocent citizens as much as they can.

  4.  @Iosef426  Do you call crossing the canal by Egypt a victory? So for your information, on that day only 423 Israeli soldiers manned 16 outposts along 160 km along the canal and also six tanks. A victory in a battle is not a victory in a war. It is like saying that Germany, which invaded Russia in World War II, defeated Russia. Because at the end of the war, the Russian army reached Germany and Berlin and that was the end of the war.. Will you also call this a German victory? So now you may understand why it is not an Egyptian "victory" but an Israeli victory. Proof of this is the museum in Cairo which only shows the crossing of the canal by the Egyptians and not the crossing of the canal and the occupation of the western side of the Suez Canal by Israel. A similar surprise happened yesterday morning when Hamas Terrorists from the Gaza Strip managed to cross the fence and murder over 300 Israeli civilians, men, women and children and took an unknown number of Israelis captive. Now have to wait and see how Israel will work to eradicate the Hamas phenomenon.

  6.  @zakirlatorre8239  No, Israel got it. All the years since 1967 Israel they held Sinai as a bargaining chip until Egypt signed a peace treaty with Israel. When President Sadat arrived in Israel in 1977 a peaced treaty was signed and Egypt got all of it back. Pity it was done after so many years. It could had be done in 1972 when President Sadat offred it to Israel but its P.M. Golda Meir did a big mistake by not believing Sadat.

  8.  @zakirlatorre8239  Nha, Egypt achieved their goal five years after they were defeated by Israel and only three years after President Sadat signed a peace treaty with Israel. Only then Israel gave it back to him because of the reason that I mentioned in my former comment to you. It did only good for both sides although this is a cold peace. I paid a visit to Egypt when bus number 100 used to go from Tel Aviv to Cairo many years ago.

  9. How come that Egypt alone built a Museum for their success on the first day? Why didn't Siryah do the same? They also had a success on the first days when they almost went down the Golan Heights invading Israel? Because they know that they were defeated and the IDF stopped chasing them when they reached 40 Km from Damascus.

  12.  @Raitei96  Golda Meir made a big mistake when she turned down the offer of President Sadat to reach an agreement. She didn't believe him. In reaction, Sadat started the preparations in order to start war against Israel by taking Cross the canal and to occupy a narrow area on the other side. Only after six years, when Begin became Prime Minister he offered him to arrive in Israel for peace talks and he payed a heavy price by doing it. Anyway, that process led to peace between Israel and Egypt. A cold peace but better than war. I still don't understand why the war museum in Cairo only declares this great victory in the first hours of the war and not the final results. What are they afraid of?

  13.  @user-or1rm1ol3q  What the difference how they managed to cross the Canal? The fight over Suez city was a mistake. The war ended at the same day. The 3rd Division was in a bad shape after days they were surrounded by Israeli forces which deny them supplies. The siege were taken off after a heavy pressure of the USA. They didn't left? Till today? Check your sources and get wiser. The USA also put pressure on Israel to stop on the 80 Km mark to Cairo. They didn't want Israel to bring the entire Egyptian Army to its knees. I was not told it by my Mom. I was there by myself on the Eastern side of the Canal, but my brother was in the forces which crossed it and he told me about many Egyptian soldiers who took off their high shoes and fled West side.

An Arab country that signs a peace agreement will receive back the territories held by Israel. The "historian" here writes that after the war Sinai was returned to the Egyptians and therefore Israel did not win the war. Real history has a decisive fact that this is not the case. Sinai was returned to Egypt in 1982, eight years, yes eight years, after the end of the war. All this after the Egyptian president offered Israel to sign a peace agreement, and only then, according to Israel's policy, did he receive Sinai back. YES, that's true that Moshe Dayan said it but fortunately, Israel had a very talented General by the name of Ariel Sharon who managed to find a loophole between two Egyptian armies and cross the Suez Canal and transfer the war to Egypt. If you call it an Egyptian victory, then let it be. Here are two another lies of our educated "historian". In the years 2000 when the Israeli PM was Ehud Barak and in 2008 when Ehud Olmert was a PM, the Palestinians were offered back all the West Bank for a peace treaty, they refused to sign it twice. By their leaders Yasser Arafat and by Abu Masen. Why? Because it was against their agenda: "Palestine from the river to the sea clean of Jews". Did you say that the Palestinians accepted Israel as a legitimate state? How come no one have heard about it. When, where and by whom it was said?

What will be the borders of the new state, how do they intend to make a living from, after all, they have no natural resourceshey. Are going to live on the rich countries charity? The UN will support them as they are doing in Gaza for the last 75 years? These three naive countries didn't give a thought about it. You can see that no other countries folloew them.

Till now, the Hamas butchered (!) more than 700 Israelis, mem, women and children. An unknown numbers of Israelis were kidnaped to the Gaza Strip to used as bargain cards. Israel has no choice now but to react and react strong. There is also a chance that the Hezbollah is waiting to join and it's going to be a slaughter for both sides. Hopping for better days.

Just to remind you that at the end of the war Israel stopped advancing in about 50 Miles from Cairo and the brave Egyptian soldiers found themselves under an Israeli siege starving to death with no food and no water with no ability to piss. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

They even have the victory museum in Cairo showing the first days of their great victory, but they failed to show how it ended. It's like the German would say that they won the WW2 war after conquaring Europe at the beginning of the war.

Yes, Israel was supported by the US but fought alone against Egypt, but the Egyptians were supported by Russia whos expert took part in the war gainst Israel. That's made the difference. You also forgot that Israel fought on two main fronts, Egypt and Syria. As for losses: Israel lost about 2,700 soldiers and had about 7,200 Injurded and 294 catured soldiers. Egypt lost about 15,000 soldiers, about 25,000 injured, and 8,273 captured soldiers. And the main fact is, that Israel took back all Sinai for six more years till the president of Egypt begged for a peace threaty and got it back for signing a peace agreement with Israel which lusts till today.

Then how come that only one week later Israeli forces crossed the Cannal and were stopped only 60 Milles from Cairo. They could go on but Russia treathed Israel to stop and the US made both side to sign a cease fire agreement. The Sinai desert remained an Israeli territory for six more years till President Sadat, poh, arrived in Israel and got it back for a peace agreement. King Hussein of Jordan and President Assad of Syria refused to do peace with Israel and they both lost Territories till today. Read a book, or prhapse you don't have to do it since you know better the history of this war.

Israel got from the US only Anti Craft Missiles to defend itself. 3. Egypt got its weapon from the Soviet Union long time till the six days war. 4. Israel got the first Phantom only in 1969, two years after that war. 5. In the six days war, Egypt had lot of Mig-21 which fought against the Israeli Mirage from France. These Mirage caused the MiG-21 to fall like flies. 6. The Russians suplyed Egypt with thausands of the modern T-60 Tanks and the Sinai desert was full of of them burning. 7. In the October war Israel suffered about 2,600 Killed soldiers. Egypt had about 11,000 killed soldiers, about 25,000 wounded and 8,633 captured. 8. The Egyptian managed to cross the Suez Cannal, Israel also managed to cross it and stopped only 60 Miles from Cairo, Egypt asked for a cease fire, Israel accepted it, all the Egyptian troops which were under siege went back home, Israel ruled again all the Sinai desert for six more years, and after signing a peace treaty, the Egyptians got Sinai back. What's not clear?

  41.  @Palestine-Rev  This is the reason for sure after the Israeli PM, Golda Meir, did a great mistake by turning down the offer of Presidnt Sadat for peace talks and decided to go for war with Israel to get it back by force. In the beginning it worked very well for him but only two weeks after, the situation went back as it was before that. Israel pushed back the Egyptians and no advance had been made to get back Sinai and it stayed in Israeli hands and causing many casualties of both sides. It took about six more years when President Sadat offered to arrive in Israel in 1979 for peace talks and this time it worked. A peace agreement was signed and Sinai was given back to their owners.

As for your saying that the purpose of crossing the canal was to force Israel to do peace with Israel, they could do it years before. Israel hold Sinai as a bargain Card in order to suggest Egypt to sign a peacw treaty and to give it back to them after signing it. Why did it take six years for the Egyptian to offer it? Why it was done nine years after the 1973 war? If it was their intention , then why not to do it on spot in 1974?

There were 35 Israeli outposts along the canal, of these, only 17 were manned with 432 soldiers and six tanks. How many Egyptians soldiers took part in the invasion and how many Thanks? Do you also know how casualties there were of both sides. Look at it and say if that If it was worthy of a museum especially there is no trace of the crossing of the canal by Israel to the Egyptian side and the Egyptian begging for a cease fire. On the other hand, why not? After being defeated three wars by Israel in 19 years, they can have one even with false facts. Enjoy.

Jus to remind you that Suez was a toem on the other side of the Suez canal which Israel crossed into Egypt and took over all the West side of it. I still remember Abdul Nasser calling the Israelis to find a shelter. You probably know what happend. You heard about sending a gift to Israel? You also heard that Egypt won in 1973. Hearing will get you nowhere. What counts are facts, not rumores that you heard.
