@569-m5p - The bridge is not in range yet but will be if they reach the Azov sea coastline from the east. When Ukraine attacked the Saky airbase 3 months ago the only thing that could have made those craters was obvious missiles and the only missile that could have reached it is the ATACM which Biden has refused to provide so far, they apparently came from Poland who had received a recent shipment. Russia is not “going soft” on Ukraine, they are throwing every single conventional weapon in their arsenal and instead of using it against the Ukrainian military they are using it to terrorize & kill civilians in an attempt to bring them to the negotiating table and it’s not working and it won’t work, the more civilians Russia kills the stronger their resolve and the entire country is fully prepared & willing to go without heat & running water. 20% of all Russians don’t even have running water, not a bit thing for Ukraine as is the no electricity because they all have wood stoves outside the major cities. People in the largest cities might have to evacuate to Poland or any other European country and this will cause the deaths of some elderly & children but Russia has already killed, raped & tortured tens of thousands and it only strengthens their resolve, something the rest of the world learned in WWII. It is this constant intentional targeting of civilians that gives them the resolve to not stop fighting until every Russian is out of every square foot of Ukraine including Crimea which is Ukrainian as is still recognized by the rest of the word as Ukrainian. This constant killing of civilians that serves absolutely no military purpose is what will likely push President Biden to start supplying Ukraine with long range weapons so they can start hitting targets inside of Russia where these drones & missiles are being launched. There is nothing else Russia can do, they cannot defeat the Ukrainian military so are killing civilians by using guided missiles that are in very short supply and won’t ever be able to be replaced because Russia cannot make them, 75% - 85% of these guided missiles are parts from the west. The only conventional weapons Russia has left our it’s mobilized conscripts who are not well trained & equipped if at all. There is no way these troops will ever be able to go on the offensive because that requires skilled well trained troops so they will take up defensive positions only and will try to stop the Ukrainian onslaught. Most every military expert believe these conscripts will start to surrender in mass because they are not well led or supplied and don’t have proper winter clothing or anything close to it so there is little choice for them. Russia had many cold casualties last March and it was nowhere close to -20 and they were at their best equipped & supplied back then. Russian logistics has always been a weak point for them since WWII and Ukraine has very wisely targeted their supply lines & captured supply routs to further exacerbate this problem, not to mention winter itself will slow logistics down even further. How can men who don’t have officers & NCO’s to lead them, who are not a tight cohesive unit of men who have been together & trained together for months or years, who go in without the proper clothing, kit & weapons and will not be getting resupplied regularly if at all survive -20 degree weather living in trenches & fighting holes for weeks on end?

Do any of you Russian supporters realize just how pathetic gloating over this so called “victory” in Bakhmut makes you all look? It took 9 months and tens of thousands of lives to capture the 56th largest city in Ukraine that’s purely symbolic and has no military value and is not even a city anymore, Ukraine still controls the roads that were the only military prize Bakhmut had. Ukraine was not routed as Russia has been so many times in the last 9 months and the battle is not even over, the city is captured but they can’t move an inch further and they are losing ground on the flanks to a small Ukrainian force.
9 months to capture a Russian border town when Ukraine captured the Capitol & major cities like Kiev, Kharkiv, Kherson, Izyum, Lyman, Kupiansk, Balakliia in just weeks. And do you really think Russia is going to take the much larger much more heavily fortified Kramatorsk and Slovyansk? The Russian army has no offensive capabilities, proved that with that so called winter offensive, Wagner is spent and won’t ever fight in another battle in this war. It’s a victory for Russia but to say it was a pyrrhic victory is an understatement, it’s the very definition of a pyrrhic victory.
Do any of you think this might be a trap, that perhaps Ukraine could send a couple of those newly formed armor mechanized regiments in to encircle Russia or do you think this battle is over?
