You won't become a billionaire if your ego isn't oversized.

Pop question: has anyone ever destroyed value faster than Elon's takeover of Twitter?
17
@safersephiroth943 "Deeply rooted"... that reminds me of something Voltaire had written: "is there nothing more respectable than a time-honored abuse?"

"there is something good about the further destabilization of essential institutions." - Sinister Marco Rubio. But then, blocking even any hearing on Garland have nothing to do with destabilizing an essentila institution,... right? If there is any justice i n this universe, Rubio will rot in Hell.

@garbonomics Congress shall often encounter matters which require technical nous. Unless each member of Congress be given a dedicated staffer to each area of technical expertise, Congress likely will make some very stupid decisions. An immediate alternative were that our Congressional Representatives rely on "guided expertise" from well-funded lobbyists.

@vincentpelletier57 that can be lots of control. "Taking the Mickey" is now even more fun.

99% of all lawyers give the rest a bad name.

If the Government doesn't refund Trump for playing golf at his own resorts, how can we trust that he won't seek other dubious sources to find his retirement?

It's not about saving money - it's about removing obstacles

@grmpEqweer It's part of a dedicated shift of administrative functions to political hacks. I hope your treatment has a favorable result. Be well.
3
@TheLexa000 unfortunately, more people will detect malice where common goofiness were a more plausible explanation.

Con sequences can evaporate on Jan 6; expect a re-run

A "contract" without a consensus ad idem is not valid.

I would rather not have a President whose motto remains, "laws are only there to be tested".

4:25 What's the difference between a diamond and an email? An email is forever.

Before the Nov 5 election, Trump promised to pardon or to grant clemency on a case-to-case basis. This mass single flush contradicts that notion.
2
At what point could eLawn recognize that the Right of free speech... also includes the right to remain silent? He should exercise that right.
2
Fun fract: not all YSL lawyers work for Yves Saint-Laurent.
2
Donald Trump would go down in history as one of the worst persons in Office in American History, except that he wants to abolish it goingi forward as much as he is ignorant of its Past
2
Hegspeths primary qualification for mastery over DOD, was being a spout favorable to Trump. He had ZERO experience in managing a budget greater than taking his group next his icecream kids after their Big Game.

RFK junior ate a lot of fish. It is correct to point out that swordfish bioaccumulate mercury in eldet fish. Try not to gorge.

Polling can go wildly wrong. There is an iconic 1948 photo of Truman holding a newspaper blasting a banner headline proclaiming that Dewey beats Truman. Oops. It turns out that the polling organization did their poll over the phones... and lots of people could not afford one back then. Past the sampling problem, the framing of a question can matter a lot: Americans consistently favor "capital punishment" by 5-10% more than "the death penalty". Then there are x factors. The timing of a poll can skew the results, and so on.

Had you been. sleeping? The "great recession" you propose, had not happened. There were unfortunate times for many; but,in aggregate, the economy moved very well for most. Let me share a moment of compassion if your individual experience is different from the reality known by most Americans.

@stephansmuts3202 would the personal papers of a private citizen become the universal property of inquiring minds? That should be a significant Constitutional hurdle to overcome, if you want to know what is on that alleged laptop. More interesting, wouldn't be a copyright perspective. The private musings, or even hard data... likely shall benefit from strong protection under existing copyright Law. If you want to chase your tail: that dog won't hunt; but it can raise funds.
2
What were the valuations Trump used to secure a bond? If these were the same as the ones which led to the judgment, of course that would not work. Using more realistic ones could be taken as an admission of culpability, and damage prospects for a successful appeal

@yuenkwai 5 days into his predations
2
@travisprudhomme1710 Elon is not receiving immediate compensation; he had been promised oversight of his competition if Trump wins.
2
@travisprudhomme1710 Might you please elaborate on your determination that Elon's electoral cash incentive were not illegal?

@charlie-qh2ll LegalEagle is an attorney accredited to the Bar. You can disagree at length with his positions and elucidations over matters at Law - but try not to appear foolish in doing so.

Judy Ruliani had its day in public court.

03:32 ...'can be either verbal or written'... That's a common error: written contracts are verbal (i.e., using words); surely you meant to say "oral"??

Lawyer jokes are mostly funny because of the underlying power disparity. I have friends in the legal profession whom I had known for decades, and we can share a few laughs at their expense. Meanwhile, a lack of Law could fast make our lives sharply diminished.

Must we be governed by the Inheritage Foundation?

I perceive a better case for secession for those States which joined the Union voluntarily. States which had been established from a common ownership of the United States have less a solid claim than others which had self-government and then opted in. Just my 2 cents.

Copyright Law is derivative of copyright Law. But also fun if you are not involved.
1
@thevidsard your question is nebulous

@MrKenpachiRamasama Is it OK to beg for money? please? I nearly bust a gut laughing when a Japanese friend shared that gods only smile in delight when we ask them for money.
1
Copyright - how juicy is that? There have been strident clamors for the release of his personal documents. His personal documents are... personal, and constitutionally protected as such.
1
tarriffs are a tax on consumption, meaning that the burden will disproportionately fall on Americans of lower income. Good way to give the wealthy a tax break.

@commissarlorax3406 Einstein was a refugee. Should he have been deported?

@petermcgill1315 you are welcome. And thanks for your help in my winning a bet.

Yeah... points come to famous. The Hindenburg largely flamed out on its hydrogen lift. Helium, in contrast, is inert to flame under expected variations in temperature. The Hindenburg had lifting derived from (combustible) Hydrogen. If alternate lift nacelles had contained He instead, that likely shall have greatly contained the disaster. Helium is an effective fire suppressant.
