  12. I feel bad for people actually named Karen. Our daughter's former principal was named Karen, and she was the nicest person and everyone loved her. She died last year from something mysterious early last year, that we only later learned was actually covid19 once her case was looked over again in light of this new disease. Looking back she had all the severe symptoms and was in the high risk group.

  13.  @dylanvan3300  Check voting records, BOTH parties float around center-right... except for Sanders who’s center-left. There have been no actual full blown communists in American politics since the Red Scare and HUAC with Sen McCarthy. Plus European Socialism (what Sanders is pushing) is not communism like the USSR or Venezuela... but it won’t work here because we have too many people here (look at Denmark during the refugee crisis, they stopped taking people because their system couldn’t handle any more.)

The willful undermining of our democratic process by a sitting President, and the fact that people claiming to be “patriots” actually believe him is very bad for America. True patriots would recognize a tyrant when they see one and call them out accordingly. If Trump somehow is still in office after 12:01pm on January 20th, Sic Semper Tyrranus.

  20. Honestly, this would have been less of an issue if we kept the 60 vote rule in place for SCOTUS picks. When you only need to pick someone that will be popular with whichever party is controlling the Senate, the court becomes so much more partisan. Especially when you had the last President get 3 picks in 4 years!

It also seems to be that being born on “American soil” includes if your mother is an American citizen (this allowed Mitt Romney’s father George to run for President, even though he was born in Mexico. Funny that all the “birthers” ignored that Obama’s mother was an American, so his possibly being born elsewhere (instead of Hawaii) was not a bar to the Presidency.)

  30. Since it’s his first criminal case it’s probably not going to result in jail time, just fines, and probably a probation period. That phone call to the Sec. State of Georgia and his classified documents obstruction case are much more serious. And if they ever bring charges related to Jan 6, 2021, that would likely be THE biggest case against him.

  32.  Captain Caveman  I’m a paralegal. We have two full shelves of books in our conference room that are nice to look at, but so old we don’t use them. The actually useful books are kept at every lawyer’s desk, but most stuff is online (and more frequently updated) anyway.

Of course if Mitch McConnell had the spine to push for a conviction during the second impeachment (and there is precedent to convict after someone has left office) the punishment could have included “disbarment from holding public office.”
