@Mary Antonio it's not everyone else's fault you don't understand nuance and took Dr. Faucis words out of context. You like many others where spoon fed half truths and incomplete quotes and are now totting them around like "experts" when you probably can't even program a oven clock. You don't understand the difference between an airisol and something that is air born. You don't understand why fauci made his remarks. You don't understand how a curve works during a pandemic. There is a false corolation between mandates and virus numbers, because of the exponential nature of such an outbreak. If you don't understand what exponential means, then you don't have any room to talk. Faucis words was a warning that masks on their own won't stop the virus because of the exponential threat the virus posseses. You have to follow it up with social distancing and self quarantines. Which we didn't do, and idiots like you took his words out of context then to justify not wearing a mask. He was simply saying that it's the first step, but not the only or last step you should take, and we would flatten that curve that way. Not prevent it outright. You're smart enough to understand this. But you choose not to because you'd rather double down on what you've already been spoon fed to believe than admit you could be wrong about something. And worse of all, you pretend to be sure of yourself, and you haven't even done the bare minimum to research it. All you've done is found a way to make your ignorance look credible based on a few quotes and biases. You can't say anything else, because you don't have any argument outside of that.

Fake Theory no but even using the scientific method we have to apply tools like Occam's razor. Is it possible that people are intentionally misleading the public? Sure. But it's far more likely that people are selective with what information they will absorb and apply in their daily lives regardless of how informed you make them. So sure, there are people in favor of masks who don't know all of the facts. It's still far less damaging, than say, telling people to inject any foreign substance in their body.

Fake Theory here's the truth, people have tried to call out what works. People have tried to get the right message out. People have tried to get us prepared and to make sure we are all on the same page about what is happening. Unfortunately that's been completely undermined by nonsense theories, people who have had information taken out of context due to frustration, and people who wanted to do the bare minimum and feel okay about it. You want something to blame? It's called human nature.

@toughgiraffe5865 it seems to me, that Republicans keep creating conspiracies intentionally. As if to create chaos and confusion that they can take advantage of. It's no mystery why new conspiracies keep cropping up after old ones get put down, it's a misinformation campaign. Keep people guessing so that conspiracies start to seem like reality because they are easier to digest, they are either simple scapegoats, or offer a "behind the scenes" explanation of something that is easy to explain. I understand this misdirection is on purpose, and it's only benifiting one side. The Democrats have had nothing to gain from the conspiracies that have came into the mainstream of late, and that is very telling as to who needs the misinformation to be successful.

@lronhoover7637 probably because they'd rather believe it wasn't a leak vs hoping it was part of a planned leak. A lot of people probably don't want to believe it was a planned leak. But until damming evidence comes forward we must deal with the fall out. The cat is already out of the bag so to speak, there's no putting it back in even if we catch the person who let it out. There's to many balls in the air, to many angles to look at it, and too many possible implications to say anything difinitivly right now. That is probably the way it will remain, but let's not forget who guides Fauci at the end of the day. The current administration in charge. That's as true now as it was when Trump was in office.

When it comes to stopping Russia from cannibalizing it's neighbors and expanding it's boarders while just the other day you act like going hard against terrorists in Islamic countries. You praised Trump for bombing a pakastani general just to "send message" but now are blatantly against Russia trying prevent Russia from expanding their boarders and causing a war with Ukraine. And you're using history to justify it. History doesn't have anything to do with what is happening now. It plays into the emotions of the people, and honestly, if the Kremlin has propoganda to influence our elections (which we all know it does) it easily has the power to start a pro Russia militant uprising in Ukraine. It's not that far fetched. And since you are right, they are already similar regiemes, which makes that propoganda from Russia even easier to swallow.

@davidaponte7521 no shit we should be focused on ourselves first. However, regardless of if we decide to join the conflict or not, this is a pressing issue that deserves our attention. And if it escalates beyond Ukraine, then you bet your ass it will effect our interests and give us a dog in the fight. For the time being, your right, we should be focusing on ourselves and preparing for our future as a nation. But in the long view, I don't forse America staying out of this when Russia starts attacking European nations out of retaliation for defending Ukraine. Maybe that won't happen, but I highly doubt it.

@2Sinamin that's completely accurate. They are victims of the dunning Kruger effect. It's kinda counter intuitive but basically, if you believe you can be susceptible to it, you're more likely to acknowledge when you lack information, are better at educating yourself, are more open minded, and more receptive to new information. If you believe you are immune to it, well, then you're ignorance probably outweighs your intelligence and you're not aware and probably will never be unless something happens that forces you to shuffle around your thoughts. If you believe you are immune to ignorance, then you probably are ignorant and will remain so. If you believe you can be ignorant of topics, then you're more likely to learn, and acknowledge where you lack information so you can learn.

@31terikennedy yes, heart attacks are usually brought on by cases of stress, like stressful events. Like how you startle someone and they have a heart attack. If it was peaceful, why where people having heart attacks afterwards? That indicates severe stress. Haha Your not really providing the gotcha you think you are. Second, it's kind of telling what quality of journalism they seek when CNN wont hire Cohen, though he does everything you accuse CNN and MSNBC of being, and fox unironically hires Lauren. Also, justifying what? That corruption happens in politics? @richarddavis5542 the truth is, every network lies. Some are just more reputable than others. So if you ignore resources based on if they told a lie, or gave misleading information you'd have nothing to look up. Instead, it's better to learn savy research skills like, how to spot perreview articles vs opinion articles, how to weed out stats from bias, and how to check the credentials of an individual instead of basing everything on the network. My contention, is that every source of media has lied or been misleading at one time or another. The real question is, do you have the tools and know-how to spot a credible article from an opinionated one?

@richarddavis5542 it's really telling to me when somebody ignores information just because a network may or may not have lied, or been misleading in the past. It tells me that you don't know how to sort good information from bad information regardless of the source that it comes from.

Because it's easy to dismiss information based on the networks they came from. It's much harder to consider each article individually and weigh their merits accordingly.

Happened to protesters all summer long weather they where violent or not. You got a taste of Americas police force and how they respond to group threats.
