  2. 50% of US homicides go unsolved. Yet if it wasn't for white privilege, this case would have been solved years ago. Extra props to Jack Campbell and Georgia Cappleman, but especially to LEO who never gave up. Dan's sons will be 18 in a few years and can reclaim their real name. By then, they'll be out of the Adelson vacuum, undoubtedly aware of their mom's complicity in their Dad's death. Hoping they can know the Markels before it's too late.

  9. Sending extra angels on your path. I empathize because friends adopted 3 children from China. (They all had special medical needs - all fixed via surgery once in the US) The oldest, who was 4 when adopted, was been diagnosed with RAD. Despite both parents being MDs, great support of family and community, their child - now 18 - has put them all through a nightmare. Unlike your daughter, he shows no academic promise or any interest in his own future. This is a dreadful take, but I've honestly wondered how they all don't move away in the night. Nor can I imagine the pain that he feels. It's not like he chose to be in an orphanage where starvation and physical abuse occurred for years.

  14. I hope they convict on all charges, but think they might pull back on the most serious one - malice murder. Imo, this is one of the more obvious crimes of this nature that we've seen. Payne needs decades in prison.

  16. I thought about what it might be like to endure what his son experienced - and at that age. I'm aware there were severe behavioral issues, but they didn't get help for their son or the family as a whole. (The other kids have to be scarred from it, too.) Hoping he gets ten years. I don't think more makes sense, but any less won't send a message.)

Making the leap to contract an actual killing just points to a collective trait of narcissism. Let's hope the old nurture vs nature question weighs in favor of genes in case of Dan's sons.

  47. ​ @Randomhero413  The DV cases they filed against each other were even imbalanced, with Jorge bearing the brunt of the most severe injuries. (Her 2018 attack on him was extremely violent.) All DV is horrible, but I hope she won't try to 'pull a Benefield', implying she was in danger when he's the one who paid with his life.
