  5. Maybe I am the odd one out here. I agree with the return of National Service. With Russia attacking its neighbour and China building up its military capabilities it makes sense to prepare for the unknown. However, I disagree with Sunak's idea of those who refuse being forced to work one weekend every month within the community or be sanctioned. It should be on a voluntary basis. A bit of discipline within a military setting may do wonders for a person's self esteem. I served 5 years in the army and it straightened me out when I was heading towards a slippery slope of hopelessness.

  8. Maybe all planned. Knowing the Russians are low on ammunition and missiles maybe this is NATO's opportunity to take out their arch enemy, Russia. Seems very fishy to me. Western leaders also know this winter freezing populations will come out onto the streets blaming them for sanctioning Russia's oil and gas. An all out war with Russia could be the politicians saving grace.

  14. Why are we living in cuckoo land. Tax cuts? By the end of 2021 the UK's debt to GDP was TWO TRILLION 382.8 BILLION GBP. Health Care costs the taxpayer 192 BILLION in the year 20/21 and over 200 BILLION on Social Security. Interest rates are rising and in 2022 the UK is paying 83 BILLION just on interest servicing its debt. There needs to be tax increases NOT tax cuts and no politician has the guts to tell it as it is. Future generations are going to hate our guts for the legacy we are going to leave them.

It did not help with the sabotaging of the Nord Stream gas pipelines linking Russia to Europe forcing our energy prices to go through the roof. Printing trillions of fiat currency from thin air to keep populations of the UK, USA and Europe from overthrowing the elites during lockdown did not help either. Governments are very good at telling porky pies about the real cause of inflation. In reality, it is crazy policies, brexit, politicians lust for power and the consequences of bending over backwards to please a dying empire called the United States which have resulted in the mess we find ourselves in today.

This is the reason why the majority voted Brexit. However, illegal migrants are basically invading our shores. The bottomless pit of the NHS drains billions, social services drain billions, social security drains billions and our failing infrastructure with its constant repairs drains billions. This country is bankrupt. Public sector finance is in deficit by 715.4 Billion. Excluding public sector bank debt the UK has 2 Trillion, 437 Billion, 9 million pounds of debt. 119 Billion had to be borrowed in the year 2023. As our ageing population increase pressure will mount on government resources, the NHS and social care. To put it mildly the UK is sitting on a financial powder keg and our 'government' pension is nothing more that a bloated ponzi scheme. The pension contributions you are presently having deducted from your wages is paying for pensioners of today and NOT been invested on your behalf for YOUR retirement. We all know what happens with ponzi schemes don't we.
