Civilian casualties are unfortunate but maybe illegally occupied territory in a warzone isn't the best spot for a vacation. Russia has killed thousands of civilians, all casualties in this war are a result of Russian invasion. If they hadn't invaded there would be no casualties, civilian or otherwise.

  14.  @Азат-д3з  2014 is when Russia began its invasion, there would be no casualties in the Donbas if they hadn't. Russia was supposed to withdraw its support for the rebels, remove its forces from the Donbas and return control over to Ukraine under the supervision of the OSCE. Russia did none of these, they violated Minsk on day one.

That Russia is to braindead to realize you need at least a 3-1 advantage in personnel if you want to actually conquer a country? Let me guess you still think Moskva sank in high seas and the retreat from Kyiv was a gesture of goodwill.

In the early days of the war most of the Ukrainian army was still in the Donbas and Russia outnumbered Ukraine around Kyiv and got pushed back. Then Ukraine announced that they would attack Kherson next and Russia believed them for some reason. You know, like morons. So Russia redeployed the VDV from Kharkiv to Kherson and the Ukrainians attacked Kharkiv and folded the Russians up like laundry. (including capturing Izium the main logistics hub in the area with a mountain of equipment.) Then they blew the bridges behind the Russians at Kherson so they couldn't be supplied and they had to run from there too. Its not like Ukraine was sending million man human wave attacks.

Russia violated Minsk on day one. Of course there would be no Minsk agreements if Russia hadn't previously violated the Budapest memorandum.

Moreover Ukraine is a sovereign country, what alliance they may want to join is no business of Russias. Maybe Pakistan is worried about CSTO expansion, so that gives them cassis belli to invade central Asia right?
