  11. As a retired physician, this is very typical for bipolar disorder, he and the children will do much better with limited exposure to her. But it’s not all her fault, bipolar patients have incredibly difficult lives because they make completely irrational decisions, loose impulses control and hate being on medications and so often stop them. They often use alcohol and anxiety meds to cope. Having Affairs and going bankrupt is also very common do to loss of impulse control , when in the manic Phase to them it is completely rational behavior, which of course destroyed relationships with spouses, family and friends.
