Jon Stewart thinks that Trump has been covered as much as Clinton and Biden were, so he's not understand that his knowledge of Trump is not the same as other American's knowledge of Trump. David Cay Johnson (Pulitzer Prize Winner) has talked about how Clinton had a hatchet done on her, but The New York Times, didn't background Trump in the same way because as New Yorkers, they assumed everyone knew what Trump has done. David Cay Johnston has recently discussed how The New York Times has run 196 negative articles on Biden vs 6-10 negative articles on Trump. So there isn't the same level of coverage on Trump as there is Biden. Trump is not held to the same standards.
David Cay Johnston also discusses in a recent podcast that 60% of Americans are reading and writing at a 6th Grade level, and that 1 in 3 of these are reading and writing like an eight year old. This means that they don't know who Murdoch is, or what he owns. It also means that folks have not moved from concrete thinking to abstract thinking. It means that the amgydala hijacks of Trump and Fox are not experiences that they can unpack.
When someone enters fight, flight, freeze and fawn, their prefrontal cortex shuts down and biologically they are unable to rationally think. So if information isn't presented at the intellectual level that they are functioning at, they are not getting the information.
So Jon Stewart is misinformed when he recently said that "Trump has been covered for the last ten years!" He enabled unfair coverage of Biden to continue when Trump was held to no such standards. His lack of knowledge of fellow American's reading skills and access to information is quite alarming.
