@GuinessHangover literally said she took the role consciously. and yes, leading men tend to have a bunch of good traits besides looks attributed them but women are often lumped into good looking OR good acting. you're absolutely right that it's not fair to women.
2
@jamesmeppler6375 disagree. I don't think pavement and terrible IPs really show off Florida. There's a lot of little islands in the inter coastal and plenty of lakes and rivers inland. But yes, a lot water sports like fishing, swiming, boating & canoeing.

4:32 "mocking the most extreme excesses of pc culture should be a slam dunk [heh]...but labors its points too much...and lingering too long on things the audience should have picked up already" So perfect for the Daily Wire consumer.
2
Sadly, it's very easy to rewatch as it's "only" one season. and each episode is different so it's like a reunion of friends. i've watched it with many ppl who skipped on it when it came out and we always end with Serenity movie. and we are always sad, but happy we went on the journey.

He has two(?) PhDs. He's one of the smartest action stars.
2
@sandman_says_runrunner4701 this just reinforces that ACAB.
2
She still is amazing in Deadpool. I get MauLer's point that her storyline was wasted but she was great in DP 1 and 2
2
@wolverine8658 , Arnold loved his body and was used to showing off in speedos, so I don't think that's a fair comparison. As I said elsewhere, a better comparison is Henry Cavil's nude and sex scenes for The Witcher, but he loves the books and games so he accepted the nudity.

Can't stop the signal, Mal

@ludwigbeethoven5186 so you agree with The Drinker that it's a satrical view of the military presented as propoganda....k
2
@darkcranny3851 respectfully disagree. New services, constructs, and art are all valuable if they are worthwhile. Some are even revolutionary. This movie we could have skipped, which is why the money was wasted. Gladiator employed tons of people and was a better use of money bc it was a culturally beneficial film, imo. (Everone will diagree on which art is beneficial; I'm just using a popular example)

I liked Waiting (Ryan Reynolds and others) as a college kid... before working in a restaurant.
1
Just saw a trailer for it, which looked interesring. Is it good?
1
But Arnold said, "get to the chopper" (expendables 3) remember that line?!
1
Agreed. I still won't do the westerns and war movies, but I agree that the Drinker Recommends is reliable endorcement.
1
Wtf
1
Yeah, usually the females hunt while the males defend them from hyenas and others that try to steal the kills.
1
And I think the males hunt mostly when they are young adults and pushed out of their pride.
1
HEY! DUNE is a spacefaring monarchy/ fuedal system....
1
I haven't been to a movie since before the pandemic except for endgame and Bladerunner 2049, and i refuse to give the D+ any money. There's not much on worth paying for.
1
yes, exactly. she was supposed to be the mousey / plain geek, the most relatable character in the movie. and yes, putting her in a potato sack helps with that.
1
@Caenef I guess it didn't work well, but many star wars fans dress for comfort. I didn't think she stood out negatively because to me, she wore a jumpsuit that mechanics wear. However, I agree with you that I did have a hard time after her ONE scene spouting tech BS that she had very little to contribute.
1
@Caenef she was at work, tho, so to me it fit for her job, but i see your point.
1
All the main characters are trying to keep secrets. This could have been a gripping show of intrigue and plotting and, yes, conflict and sacrifices to protect the twins or dark pasts. Instead we got a Saturday morning cartoon. Doesn't have the depth of Clone Wars, Batman, or even Gargoyles. Disney streaming is earning its D+. "Do better, Disney"

Reluctant like 👍

Ib thought ramirez was Persian....

glyn hodges not sure why you'd claim he's famous for having a degenerative disease instead of being a pioneer in big bang theory, blackhole radiation, and all the math behind it. He wasn't the only one, of c (Roger Penrose is still around, and won the prize for 2020, I saw) but he tackled problems that were weird and contradictory, so I'm sure they ensuing indignation among acadamia helped keep his name known. He also captivated the lay man imagination, and tried to bring them up to speed with books. He is a household name for both his achievements and his appeal among the common people, just like Einstein.
1
glyn hodges I'd suggest Max Planck, Niels Bohr, Schrodinger, (and other quantum physicists I'm forgetting) are much more relevant today than Einstein. Or, consider that Tesla's work was "rediscovered" and is the basis of modern technology, and Einstein even called him the smartest man in the world. It is no insult to Einstein, as these men were all brilliant. As for their personal lives, I don't know much about either. But Hawking made appearances at conferences and TV shows BECAUSE he was a pioneer and wrote a popular book. It's ridiculous to think the book was a NYT best seller because he was disabled. I'm not sure where you animosity and zealotry comes from. All these men made remarkable insights that pushed their respective fields foward.

A lot of actors, male and female, begrudgingly accept the nudity and sex in roles because it's the bargain they make to get established, and to say she didn't have a problem with it before is speculation (no previous quotes were provided to prove it). They get into ACTING for the stories, not the bewbs, otherwise they'd be strippers or pornstars or whatever. She proved her chops when she played a voice in a movie and maybe acting is what she's wanted all along, just a guess. This could have been a more balanced approach to the quote, with only the good-faith commentary on the topic, but this viewpoint that when women aren't attractive that they might just find themselves out of a job seems to be exactly the kind of attitude that gets SJWs all a Twitter.
1
As an American, integrity is no longer an American trait bc everything is transactional and corrupt. You probably don't see it coming over here as a celebrity but a lot of us feel it.
1
Never heard of this movie, thank you!
1
@slappy8941 you give them too much credit. They are just looking out for #1; they don't care about anyone else. They don't think movies and tv have value beyond useing them to enrich themselves. They don't care about the companies in their investment accts eother--when bad news is coming, you sell and find the next one. Perhaps there is some cabal that is pulling the strings, but the ppl we see are willing patsies only care that money is coming in. Which is why I think they are milking these IPs and then moving on to the next thing, like locusts.
1
I think an old man Blade story would work but Blade is always Wesley Snipes! I do not want another movie like that Crow imposter
1
That's gross.
1
@nhlcbj yes, watching snuff would mess you up. Maybe watching puppies or smth would help, but really, nothing can"follow" that. I'm sorry that he did that to you.
1
Just saying, I'll suck your will to live... for a price. 🖤🖤
1
If you put a diff title on it, and tightenthe script, you might have a funky new spin on a classic. "Could"
1
Clint Eastwood knew how to do it. Hang back, let shit happen, then show up with a shotgun, mow the youngins down because of decades of practice, and walk away.
1
Stathan is a stuntman that got a chance. Watch the Transporter and The Bank Job. He IS an action star.
1
yes, but most men also want to be smarter, honest, respected, right? that is, people have more grounded aspirations, especially as we age and the novelty of 20s "dating" fades.
1
Rousey can actually fight, more than most of the cast except for Jet Li. And she didn't have many lines, which was just enough.
1
@TruthTellert63 disagree about 14 yr old boys, only because I've beaten them and I'm 120 soaking wet--they are slow/unsure and usually untrained. Of course, most men just outweigh women so they can beat women (was an open secret/accepted practice for millenia). But, as far as an action movie, she was alright as a 3rd tier person on the team. She was "believable", at least bc she's a pro fighter. That's all I'm saying.
1
@sandman_says_runrunner4701 so you agree that she's a professional fighter. 👍
1
@travisrolison9646 not a plot! Eeeek
