It's a real life video game car. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
2100
I really appreciate this channel for not regurgitating the same thing most of the other car channels do. I know you are going to nerd out on some aspect of the car.
732
it's essentially a lawn mower engine times 8 cylinders.
341
The only person I know that gets two cars from the same manufacturer at once
298
I agree that auto manufacturers just don't care about weight reduction. Especially with EVs that have heavy batteries. They should be looking to take weight out wherever they can, which could then lead to smaller batteries.

The amount of shade and sarcasm in this video is just epic! Well done Jason!
95
Me: how much of a difference does 141 pounds actually make? Jason: let me get my white board!
72
I'm surprised you didn't remind us there are no tires available to make use of all that HP!
58
Kudos to GM for loaning out the cutaway car!
46
Jason. The answer to your problems is simple. Just trade it in for a new one when you need new performance pads. I'm sure this is what Tesla expects you to do anyways.
44
you say tomato I say tamoto lol
43
Could you do a video on what speed is an electric car most efficiently driven like you did on a gasoline car?
35
Good thing you didn't put these on your Tesla otherwise TFL would have claimed you copied them.
33
@EngineeringExplained can this be considered an automated manual given the flat foot shifting? Maybe this transmission alone would make for a good video?
33
@808bigisland overweight and underpowered, adequately powered, over powered.... Doesn't matter. They are all too heavy
27
No frunk, I'm out 😆. That cracked me up because no one buying one of these is going to care 😆
20
All i can say is the current v6 sounds no where near as good as the v10. By no means is it bad, just not as good
12
I'm not sure I've ever seen an EE video so snarky before! Someone has been working on their comedy skills!
10
Jason, I share your sentiments about most seats being a tall stick myself!
10
I honestly still want the blackwing engine. That thing was amazing! Maybe not as powerful overall, but produced more hp/L.
9
@SoloRenegade did you sign something when you bought the car that you would only charge the battery a certain way? No? Then guess what, they can't deny it. The moment you mention Magnuson Moss warranty act (lemon law) requires them to prove that you knowingly caused damage and you're getting a lawyer, they'll honor that warranty
9
@davidjereb you still don't want to be the guy that wrecked a 6 figure car. YouTube won't let you live that one down anytime soon.
9
@cuda426hemi you obviously feel very wronged by capitalism and want a socialist society. Capitalism only works when there are rules in place to keep things fair. Like laws against collusion that would keep smaller competitors out of the market. Right to repair is similar to anti collusion laws in that it helps ensure that a free and open market exists with competition. Capitalism is based on competition of the best product at the best price. But dishonest companies find ways to kill competition and provide inferior products at higher prices. By a company retaining control over a product so that only they can repair it, they dishonestly kill the competition of anyone competing against them for the repair business. There is a difference between rules for creating a fair capitalist market and socialism.
8
@SoloRenegade you don't pay extra for the warranty on a new car. And if you only buy used, that's fine, but you have to have people that buy new for there to be used.
7
With those tires
7
You can hate the cybertruck as much as you want or even Tesla as much as you want, but you have to give respect to the amount of effort that went into doing this.
6
The Tesla user experience... You wake up the next morning and it's changed and you have to get used to it again. You have to interact with almost everything through the screen or with voice. Tesla retains too much control of the car that you supposedly own. Once EV chargers become more common place, all your points will be nonsense. Auto manufacturers should not be making their own charging networks. It should be exactly like gas stations today.
6
@phamnuwen9442 tell that to all the companies that sell fire fighting gear to the fire departments. There is a huge private market that backs fire departments.
6
Jason asks why ifs? I ask why the f did it take so long for them to bring it to market?!
6
As long as it doesn't look like those cars from the solar car races I'm interested
5
Come on, you know we wanted to see the cruiser on budget tires!
5
@benjamind7290 it probably didn't need to precondition because it was already conditioned from driving.
4
When the lyriq came out and they said there was no frunk to maximize interior space because the charger takes up all the space I wondered why they didn't just redesign the charger. You pretty much confirmed what I was thinking, they were too lazy.
4
It would have been interesting to see how a square bore vs over bore vs under bore would also play into this.
4
First mistake was watching a channel that is for EVs
4
Great, you need a 320 amp service. Something only people in McMansions would have. Majority of homes are 200 amp. Way to fail Ford.
4
I'd like to hear more about these synthetic fuels that are getting a renewed interest. Seems promising from an emissions standpoint and not needing to do anything to our vehicles. How are they made though, and does it do anything for energy independence?
3
I wonder how many people noticed the random banana in the beginning of the video?
3
Tesla cyber truck can't even meet EPA range estimates, of course it hasn't solved towing 😆
3
@SoloRenegade rental car companies can't provide enough used cars to the market unfortunately
3
Gale annoys me a bit, but damn does he explain things super well.
3
Hey Jason, I'm waiting on a video from you on the turbine engine. I know that one has to be perfect for your channel.
3
OMG, the dad jokes are on 🔥
3
You forgot the part about a crazy CEO 😂
3
@phamnuwen9442 and it won't be taken over. The government doesn't have the capability to do so. If it did, we wouldn't be paying military contractors trillions to build fighter jets, tanks, war ships etc. Our government doesn't manufacturer a whole heck of a lot. Currency is the only thing I can think of. Our government provides a lot of services. But many of those services have competition. The mail service has competition from UPS, FedEx, etc. You can mail letters through them too, but at a much higher price. Amtrak might not have competition, but there is nothing to stop someone from trying. There is nothing stopping you from building a private road and charging for it's use either (provided you clear all the environmental and engineering standards). There are just some things that the government can provide more efficiently that causes there to be no need for competition. The one exception I can think of is police, but it ties into our system of justice, and it creates order from people enforcing laws anyway they see fit. I'm being a bit long winded here to point out that the fears of socialism are blown way out of proportion.
3
🙄 It's just an expression...
3
What if the valve fails to open?
3
Starting at 113k. Have to wait until fall off 24 for one starting in the high 70s. With cheap looking tablets mounted to the dash. Only 350 miles of range. Maybe in 2030 they will have one worth buying.
2
@WilliamStewart1 I know they were hand built, and I'm guessing some components came from other manufacturers.
2
Almost anything looks better then the metal polygon lol
