  9. FLA batteries are sealed and don't require maintenance in automotive applications anymore. They have been this way for as long as I have been alive (31 years). The only time I have seen a battery that you could add water to was on a golf cart (a deep cycle battery system). This is what happens when you let a company sponsor your videos. Facts get skewed. Had you said this but explained that sealed FLA batteries have a shorter lifespan because you can't add water, that would have been there honest truth. Your videos are usually great at explaining engineering concepts, but this one was slightly biased.

  10. Engineering Explained if you are comparing just their products, that's fine, but that wasn't clear. I'm not trying to knock you or anything. I'm just providing honest feedback. Maybe if you had made mention of sealed vs not sealed that would have kept things completely honest.

  13. I've read that you can't put an electrically driven supercharger on a 12 volt system. It makes sense that 12 volts isn't enough, but shouldn't it be possible to transform the voltage up to 48 volts? This way you don't have the parasitic loss on the engine, assuming you don't need a bigger alternator.

  22. Who knows where and when the scratches happened. In the factory, factory to the transport lot, lot to a train car, train car to the truck.... Those would bother me, but I couldn't blame Tesla. Panels not lining up, orange peel, dust in the paint job... They can improve upon that.

  23. And don't forget about solid state batteries. I know someone solved it in a lab somewhere, now it's just who's going to figure out how to manufacture them. Smaller batteries for the same capacity will increase efficiency!

  50. I'm curious why a 12 volt to 48 volt DC to DC converter couldn't be used. The only thing that comes to mind for me is the alternator probably wouldn't be able to supply enough energy.
